Even though Odoms is not getting any major hype like the others in this victory, he played a solid game all-around:
1) delivered the key block on Stonum's TD return
2) Key diving first down catch on the last drive
when this would come up. HUGE block on the kickoff return. A+ for effort, Martavious.
Odoms .. for a little guy he has delivered 2 big blocks to spring TDs this year (DRob and Stonum) ... fiesty little Pahokee boy
On Tate's TD run he took his guy out of the play
I completely agree with you. Odoms took advantage of his chances.
including the same observation. His block on the return was outstanding. His catch, while blanketed, for a 1st down on the final drive was clutch.
I definitely like Odoms. He plays hard on every single down.
by Odoms. That diving catch was excellent. Also, addMinor in there for his pass protection on the last drive. Millen and Mcdonut called it "neck snapping." (something to that effect)
I somewhat disagree. Yes he redeemed himself with some clutch catches late in the game and some key blocks. However, in my observation it looked like he missed as many key blocks as he gave.
There were two plays that stuck out to me. First, was when Tate was rolling out to the left hash when driving towards the south endzone. I think it was in the first half and may have been before Tate's long scamper to the endzone. Had Odoms picked up his man, Tate could have busted it for a long run (moot point, I know, because they scored later). Odoms was out of the game on the ensuing play.
The second play was on a run near the right hash in a similar situation. I think Brown may have been running it. Had Odoms picked up his man, the play would have been a much bigger gain.
Perhaps I'm being nit-picky, but I think some people have been singing his praises when he blew a few assignments. Then again it is just my epinion and maybe I'll be proven wrong in the UFR.
Just goes to show that when WRs block on EVERY play, big plays can and will happen. Yes, i saw at least 3 plays that could have produced big-gainers had Odoms made a block. but hey, i've seen much bigger WRs shun blocking more than he does.
the nice play he made coming back for the ball on second and long after Tate got sacked on that last drive. To be nit-picky, I would have like to see him get out of bounds when he had the chance on said play. However, that was key to putting us in third and manageable.
