Observations on a couple FB recruits at Bball game

Submitted by Maize and Blue… on

It seemed as if the coaches were really putting the full court press on Zettel. During the first half and halftime I noticed Gerg and Coach Frey around him most of the time and RR sat next to him the whole second half.
Gerg also spent a lot of time talking with what appeared to be B. Beyer (I was in section 27 opposite end from players)in the first half. This made sense as they are recruiting him as a DE.
Aundrey Walker is a massive human being. I don't know if we have a legitimate shot at him because of his HS (Glenville), but he is hard to miss and I would love to see him on the Oline.

Just making observations about what I saw at the game. In the earlier post by Magnus about commits from junior day I didn't think there would be any. Little did I know RR would offer a under the radar guy who would commit on the spot. Then again if I wasn't even in any of the scouting databases and a major school offered I would do the same thing.

Sam Webb has an interview up on him on GBW. Sam asked him about his stats and they were considerably better than what was reported. Florida also invited him to a camp, so his name was starting to get out there a little bit.

Allen Trieu from Scout ( Midwest Recruiting Analyst) believes he is a top 10 player in state. He just found his film this past week and had an interview scheduled with him today to "introduce him" but the UM staff beat him to it.

He is a little better than some people are giving him credit for. Florida knew of him enough to invite him to a camp. The kid has grown on me the more I hear about him.

can you give me a little inside info on getting tickets for the M/ND game this year. My kids grandfather was a NT for the 70s NC team at Nebraska and I guess his name is on a plaque in the college football HOF. I would like to take the kids to see it before the Hall moves to Atlanta and figured the weekend of the game would be perfect. Any suggestions besides the usual suspects? Thanks.

Beyer and Zettel are both going to a couple more junior days (Zettel to Notre Dame on March 20th-ish, I want to say) before they make decisions.

Michigan is probably still the team to beat for both, especially with all the attention they were getting from the coaches (Zettel was sitting with Frey and AD David Brandon, Beyer with GERG and I think Magee - maybe it was Singletary).
