Obama Shoutout to Denard during Speech in AA

Submitted by MaizeNBlu628 on

I know no politics on the board, but no matter, still pretty cool that President Obama gave a shoutout to Denard during his speech.

Josh Katzenstein from the Detroit New just tweeted:

Obama: "Where's Denard? I hear Denard Robinson's in the house. I hear you're coming back man. That is a good deal for Michigan." #ObamaAA

Regardless of your political affiliations, that is pretty stinkin' awesome to get a shoutout from the President.

Good for Denard, he will remember that forever.

No matter what your political leanings are, a shout-out from the president is a terrific honor.  I think we can all agree, though, that as Michigan men and women the ranking of honors goes something like:

1) pointed at by Brady Hoke

2) headbutted by David Molk

3) shout-out from the President

By contrast, the ranking of honors for Sparties is:

1) acceptance letter from the University of Michigan

2) beaten up by Glenn Winston and co.

3) everything else.

assistants told him that it would be good PR to mention Denard. It's called playing to a crowd and it appears to have worked. Just look at the good will it generated on here.

He is a politician. Everything he or any politician does is for a reason.

He puts his final 4 together for ESPN every year, he's a documented sports fan. Denard is a hugely popular/gets a ton of exposure athlete, been in a couple of Heisman races, I don't doubt Obama has heard of him.

I think we can all agree that if Lloyd Brady had gotten a shout out, the entire MGoCommunity would have to vote for Obama this fall, regardless of individual political leanings...

Denard made a backdoor deal to share the secret of Dilithium with the president after the 2012 season is over in exchange for a shoutout.  I think we're going to hear a lot about it later on in the campaign trail as the solution to all our domestic energy needs!

Thoroughly read the OP's post. Not one iota of political inference. PotUS gives shout out to Denard. Nothing more, nothing less. Take your drivel elsewhere.

I was talking to denard yesterday (humblebrag I know) but he was excited to see Obama so I bet he was pretty happy about this shout out. I'm surprised his smile didn't blind Obama.
