Obama Shoutout to Denard during Speech in AA

Submitted by MaizeNBlu628 on

I know no politics on the board, but no matter, still pretty cool that President Obama gave a shoutout to Denard during his speech.

Josh Katzenstein from the Detroit New just tweeted:

Obama: "Where's Denard? I hear Denard Robinson's in the house. I hear you're coming back man. That is a good deal for Michigan." #ObamaAA

That's okay, since he's been to UMich twice in as many years, I'm sure the President will visit our other prestigious in-state university on his next trip.

A topic like this can be started without any political intentions, but it will inevitably turn that way when you're talking about the president. This should probably be deleted.

I hope people can just appreciate the fact that the president mentioned Denard, not because he's Barack Obama but just because he's the president.  I would think this was cool if it was President Bush (43), President Clinton, President Bush (41), or Millard Fillmore (our first werewolf president).

Honestly (and I hope I'm not revealing any political bias here) I wish it was one of our early republic presidents. Obama has a helicopter and Blackberry's and what-not, but that just doesn't compare to half a British accent and a wig, not to mention the cigar/spitoon next to the podium.

All of the American presidents should be forced to wear powdered wigs.  That should be a non-negotiable tradition.

Cigars & spitoons would be cool too...but that could be left to personal perference.
