NYC Game-Day: FORUM BAR, et al.

Submitted by NYWolverine on
Spreading the word for my good friend and weekly event host, Amit Kapoor (U-M, class of '03)... If you're looking for the authentic Michigan game-day experience in Manhattan, look no further than "FORUM" on 4th Ave. between 12th and 13th Street. $4 domestic beers, deals on well-drinks, really good pub food and a pretty dead-on recreation of the Rick's American Cafe Shark-Bowl (for $16). The bar will be EXCLUSIVELY Michigan for the game, and will feature 4 flat screen monitors at the bar and a large projection screen for game viewing. Only a couple short blocks from Prof. Thom's for the MGoBlog bar-hoppers. *If any other NYC area alums/fans would like to use this space to plug their favorite game-day destinations, feel free. **U-M NYC Alumni Association: http://www.google.com/calendar/event?eid=Z2JobXYxNDU3N2ttNWNyNG91Zjg2dT… Two Alumni Assoc. affiliated bars today: Metro 53 and Prof. Thom's.

For anybody who doesn't know Amit, pretty much everybody knows Amit... Re: DD's - I really can't speak to the extent, but I know he and his family are involved with the franchise as owners/operators in at two locations in Manhattan. But as you probably know, the man's passion is in events and planning, and he's done a few fairly large-scale productions recently - an art/music fair, a cultural awareness event, and plenty others - as well as promoting Forum for Michigan game-day, which has gone extremely well. If you want his information, e-mail me: [email protected].
