NY Rangers trade Kolarik to Pittsburgh

I noticed this yesterday on the WWL's web site. The Rangers exchanged minor league forwards with the Penguins. Chad is headed to the AHL Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins. He has 16 goals and 19 assists in 41 games for the Rangers' minor league affiliate, the AHL's Connecticut Whale. The Rangers receive Benn Ferriero who has four goals and 14 assists in 34 games. Best of luck Chad, with your new organization. Hopefully, we'll see you on the ice, in Pittsburgh, soon.

Nobody home...

Auburn just lost its running backs coach to the NFL.  TomVH is reporting that Rich Bisaccia is officially gone.

I'm not sure why you would respond like that?  This was rumoured a couple days ago, but only confirmed by Aurburn earlier today.  And being that this will directly affect the (potentially) highest ranked recruit Michigan has gotten in the past 5-10 years... I'd say it's worth mentioning.

Mike Knuble signed with Philadelphia today, according to M Hockey Twitter.

Also, as to your post, that's the difference between a word or two in the title. It's hard enough sometimes with on/off topic, but an organic movement to add "M _ Alumni" to posts might be welcome. Maybe I just care too much about titles, though, who knows.

I wanted to see Kolarik on the Rangers roster this season, but all bias aside they traded a player who was doing well in the minors for a player who wasn't.

As for other Michigan players in the minors; Chris Summers, Chris Brown, Kevin Porter, and Luke Glendening are playing pretty well. Louie Caporusso was not impressive during his time in the AHL last year and has been in the ECHL ever since.

Seeing as how most people on this site don't pay attention to hockey, you may want to include in your post that he did play at Michigan.

...is also in the ECHL as a back-up for the Utah Grizzlies.  He started the srason in that league playing for the South Carolina Stingrays, one of the stronger organizations at that level.  I washoping he'd get more playing time there, earn himself a call-up and a contract in the American league.  Utah isn't the best route for that, unfortunately.
