4th and 6th highest paid coordinators in college football. That's gotta be worth 10 wins, huh?
If we don't win at least 10 games this year I'm gonna punt a baby.
are not invited over to watch any of the Oct or Nov games.
And Dave Brandon will have a lot more time for golf.
You think the athletic director will get fired if the football team doesn't win 10 games? That's not generally how it works.
10 wins maybe not, but there is a new prez, that usually means the AD's time is limited regardless. Everyone wants their people around them. No one thinks DB has done such a great job he is immune from pressure. The man has enough money, this is about legacy and ego.
As for how it "works." I have two good friends who are head coaches for Olympic sports at UM, I have a pretty good idea of how it works over there.
I don't recall a huge number of new Presidents canning the existing ADs. Especially a new President who is coming from a school without a huge athletic presence.
Keep babies away from Darker Blue. Failure to do so will result in multiple punted babies in the months of October and November
have a little bit of optimism. Hoke and Nuss and Mattison don't want any babies to get hurt, they will deliver.
Easily an AJJ lyric. Good work.
Once that list is updated, we won't have #4 and #6 on the list anymore. That said, we are still paying top dollar for our assistants, and I hope they earn their checks.
Just win, baby.
Or "just punt babies," if you're Darker Blue.
Well DB has certainly thrown money at the problems. Time to deliver on that.
He lives up to this contract THIS YEAR...
Whatever it takes.
Dangit, I had him making $840,000 in my Nussmeier Salary Pool.
Sorry. Showcase Showdown rules apply. Closest without going over.
The best part is that his contract states that we can terminate his contract if hoke is not the head coach anymore
And promote him to head coach?
Seems like the guy will very likely be a head coach in the next few years. He's young(er) and the players seem to love playing for him. Plus he has had success everywhere he's been, so why not give him a shot if Hoke can't get the job done?
but at the same time being okay with the OC being promoted to HC.
I think that kind of thing is pretty standard for assistant coaches' contracts.
I just hope he changes with the personnel, and not stubborn like Borges was the last two years.
I'm not sure what his incentives were like at Alabama, but Michigan put a few sizable bonuses in his contract.
His base salary for 2014 is $280,000 with an additional $550,000 in other compensation. The $550K does not include bonuses for such things as bowl games or winning the B1G.
It'd be cool if the $550,000 was in Spearmint Rhino $1's.
That's over 4 billion in Zambian Kwacha.
That is sufficiently more than my salary.
How many BitCoins is that?
0.2 or 7 Tesla's.
the MGoPoints he could have...
If we did everything right, the $550,000 in additional compensation should include a goodly amount of MGoPoints - at least enough to get access to the private room of the MGoClub plus mod powers and a weekly column on the front page of the site. I have to believe this was a minor but not unimportant part of the deal.
DB should be willing to reach his deep pocket.
He should be able to afford taking the family out to dinner once a week on that.
Must be nice...
If on the first play of the 2014 season we run to the interior, and it goes for positive yardage, I will donate a dollar to the Nussmeier Salary Fund.
This is Michigan flexing its financial muscle at its finest.
I hope one day the on field product reflects the coaches salaries.
As a top-revenue school that has lots of money, one of the benefits we are afforded is to be able to throw $$ at problems. It's an absolute competitive advantage over most schools, and one we should push hard. It can help to cover a lot of warts. It makes sense that we are doing this, good move by DB to shell out here.
I have no problem with this salary whatsoever. Now he needs to earn it.
Someone should ask him if he was RDT.
What did Nuss make last year?
http://www.al.com/alabamafootball/index.ssf/2014/02/former_alabama_offen... this is a $150K raise from Alabama.
Great, he can now update his wardrobe!
