Now I know what it's like from the other perspective!

It was at the half-time of the UConn game when I thought of this.  

Flashback:  1998 football game against Syracuse.  We had just earned the National Championship.  We were on top of the world.  Then comes Syracuse and Donavan McNabb runs all over us en route to a 24 -7 half-time lead.  I remember feeling frustrated, angry and helpless during the entire first half.

Everything was McNabb and we had no answer.

Fast forward to the UConn game, where our Denard Robinson poured it on a stunned and bewildered Husky defense.

I thought to myself, "I'll bet that's exactly how UConn fans feel right now".

Karma does come back around.  And for just a few minutes everything in the world was alright...

Anyone else have that, or a comparable memory?

Who is this Armanti Edwards you speak of? Surely he couldn't be the former qb of the Appalachian State team that we crushed to open the 2007 season and my first game as a UM student.

Oh, God. I'd blocked that from my memory completely. As I recall, we went up by a TD early, then Dixon spent the next 50 minutes or so destroying our defense. He was dominant that year and would have won the Heisman if he hadn't gotten injured late in the season.

That is the only Michigan game I have ever left early out of disgust. I remember after halftime telling my buddy that if Michigan didn't score first in the 2nd half, we were leaving. I was actually joking. But when Oregon scored rather quickly, that was it for me.

I followed Oregon/Dixon for the rest of that season, and I agree... he would've at least been one of the finalists and I think Oregon would likely have played for the BCS championship.

Looks like with Roethlisberger suspended and Leftwich out, Dixon gets the start for the Steelers...  it'll be interesting to see what he can do.

We were favored at home, and Mo got outcoached by Lou Holth.  Hate to admit it, but he was one of the best game coaches ever.

I never liked Holtz when he coached, and I like him less as a color guy on the tube; but I do admit that he was a hell of a coach.  I also respect what he has done with his life despite his speech impediment.  Few of us could have done what he has.

That being said he is such a Notre Dame homer.  Yech!

I went to b-school at UM with Pat Kratus, a DL in the 2-deep on the 1997 and 1998 teams.  When I asked him what his best and worst football memories were, he mentioned something about a 1997 bowl of roses following a game against some nuts as the best (obvsly).

The worst: chasing around Donovan McNabb in complete futility.  Somewhat exact quote ran along the lines of McNabb "made us all feel like little kids chasing superman" or something to that effect.

Denard Robinson is the quarterback that Michigan hated to play against for the past 20 years.  To finally have him on our side is a dream come true.

Going back a few years, every time these QB's played us (Minnesota and Ohio State respectively), we always had trouble containing them.
