That dude can dunk???? Would never have thought.
Did you think that because he is white? Not everything you see in the movies is true, white men can jump.

but it's definitely more of the overall fact that he is a white guy that is pretty short (not sure what his height is exactly). Most short guards stick to layups (see Steve Nash).
I can only continue to reference the fact that I live in an onion factory.
Surprisingly he's listed at 6'5" so even if he's actually closer to 6'3ish that's a few inches taller than I thought he was.
I put up a tough front, but deep down I just want to be held.
He probably thought that because of his blown game winning dunk at the buzzer last year. I don't recall him trying any other ones but I may be wrong. He got ribbed quite a bit after that so he was probably motivated for tonight.
In such a cynical, sarcastic society, oftentimes looking for the negative on anybody or anything, if you're fortunate enough to spend five minutes or 20 minutes around Tim Tebow, your life is better for it. -Thom Brennaman
That wasn't Novak. Ir was Stu Douglass at the end of regulation against Savannah St

"Novak's first effort was almost as good, a windmill off the bounce. He called himself 'the darkhorse' afterward, noting people still remembered him for his missed dunk at the end of regulation against Savannah State last year, and he entered the contest with something to prove."
I wish I was there for that. That is shocking. Hard to believe he can dunk, let alone go that crazy with one. Dude has got some serious ups I guess.

Yay for stereotype busting!
There are no corners in space.
I WANT VIDEO!!!!!!!!
Keeping up with this on Twitter doesn't do it justice I don't think. Morris's dunks sounded pretty good too. As soon as someone gets video, post it.
they showed a replay on the screens at crisler so i'd imagine it would be up on MGoBlue tommorow
Awesome. Can't wait.
I hope the video comes out before LeBron putts Nike on it.
I routinely +1 myself in memory of em0, may he RIP
Midnight Maize I Twitter I Facebook
I'll +1 you anyway as I also tied the other guy who started a thread.
It appears the copy of the image I had is already gone. Great...
EDIT: It's weird, I guess twitpic, the only version I've found without AP IMAGES pasted all over it, keeps changing the file to keep it from reposting. Smart, but weird.
other things of note...
Manny won the 3 point contest with i believe Carmen Reynolds
Morris had two great dunks earning 39/40 points and 40/40 points. The first he bounced off the shot clock and jumped up and slammed in it. The second one he had a teammate about 5 rows in the stands pass it to him and i believe he went threw the legs and dunked it.
I forgot who won the skills contest but I think it was a team with Eso
Thats awesome. I'm pissed I didn't go. Stupid stupid stupid
I'll just put this here instead of another thread. Beilein being introduced to "Jump Around" at about the 1 minute mark
That is fantastic, wish I could have been there. I can't wait for basketball season! Go Blue!!
When you reach the end of your rope tie a knot and hold on...
Thanks. That was awsome! Really makes me wish that I could have been there.

It's youtube video so I guess I could embed but I figured UMHoops should get the traffic for being the first to post it.
Brent Petway is not impressed, and challenges Novak to come to Idaho and settle this.
The Novak dunk was the highlight of the night.
Other notes:
Vogrich's stroke looks sweet.
Manny definitely has tweaked his release and he's looking even better.
Cronin can knock down the 3. Not sayin he should, but he can.
Darius Morris knocked down a 3, but didn't really do much else of note.
Deshawn looked disinterested.
Try and separate a man from his soul, you only strengthen his and lose your own
That's the thing I took away from tonight, good to see the freshman dropping in those threes. Who knows, maybe that's about all we'll see of him this year. Future sniper though.
Tonight also proves that people (myself included) get overly excited when a semi-athletic looking white guy starts doing trick dunks. What fun.
All posted on umhoops.com, including Novak's dunk. His reaction is 10x better than the dunk...even he couldn't believe he pulled it off.
Heres a better angle: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uYYMit4_V2Y&feature=player_embedded
I've noticed that since last year, Zack seems to really be enthused/involved with the Maize Rage. You really see that in the video.
I know he spoke about making the Rage larger; he was actually in it during a few women's games last year. Kid is quite the showman, but you can tell he really has fun with it!
Darius Morris looked really explosive on his dunks. A good sign for sure.
And John Beilein's intro dance was absolutely priceless. That may have been the most forced dance ever, but he appeared to get into it as he got to the crowd. Hilarious. Man i'm excited for basketball season
Philippians 4:6-7
The Maize Rage people kept saying that Novak was going to win.
