BEAT NOTRE DAME
Notre Dame's Nix fires back at Coach Hoke
To Hell With Notre Dame.
That doesn't even make sense. Hoke called them chickens, and their response is "Chicken will taste delicious"? Is he saying that Michigan will eat Notre Dame?
That's what I took from it too.
"You think we're chicken? Well, chicken is delicious, so while you're beating us this fall, imagine that you're also eating a bunch of chicken. Grilled, fried, whichever you prefer."
we just Nix Louis right off the field when our OLine pounds him repeatedly into the ground on 9/7/13 starting at about 8PM eastern time. Oh yeah, hey Louis.....STFU!
Possibly meaning wolverine meat? I'm assuming that's what Nix meant? Nonetheless, weak comeback bro..
Nobody makes Notre Dame bleed their own blood!!!!!
Meatchicken is one of many terrible alterations of Meeechigan. I've heard it before.
I think Nix began to talk trash, but then his mind began to wander and he started thinking about food.
Have you seen Brian Kelly?
He does have some tender chicken breasts
That has to be the lamest insult-pseudonym I've ever seen for anything. Yes, chickens are made of meat. Furthermore, chicken meat is delicious. How is this not compliment?
We'll see you Sept. 7th Mr. Nix.
Louis Nix has a Mlive account?
on both sides. Should be really enlightening.
5 fakes out of 5
From the ground.
Or, for those who spend an inordinate amount of time in the weight room and eschew females because of it, perhaps a summer of chest-measuring and dick-beating?
Now that sounds like a good summer.
Let's remember Hoke started it come August.
They're chickens, we're meat chicken!!!?!??! Ooooh lessgetiton.
Oh it's on like Chicken Little.
To HELL with Notre Dame
Who is Louis Nix?
Wasn't he that one guy who was president once?
also ND was selling pre-order advanced copies of the BCS national championship game on DVD, assuming they would win, weeks before the game aired.
They are not including game number 13?
Under a different title however; Apocalypse Now. With Brian Kelly playing Colonel Kurtz.
Don't forget the first release, Heart of Darkness, with BK playing the part of Mr. Kurtz.
Well that game was in 2013 so I guess the title is still correct?
Not too difficult to earn this guy's respect. Really though we all knew there would be soe kind of response to Hoke's statement. I expected more than this to be honest.
"MeatChicken" =Michigan or Meeechigan..? hahahaha clever response..../s
So MeatChicken is supposed to be Michigan? Is that a thing?
Unfortunately yes. MSU and OSU fans use in on the internet a good amount.
Huh. I have never heard that before. It is also not very insulting. I know that scUM isn't terribly clever, but "scum" is a bad thing, and it has UM in the word, so I get it. Chicken, on the other hand, is either delicious and healthy (when prepared properly) or just simply delicious. It is also high in protein and relatively affordable. It is a staple in nearly every culture'e cuisine.
Americans eat grilled chicken or fried chicken, the French have chicken cordon blue, Italians have chicken parmisian, Indians have chicken tikka masala, Thailand has chicken curry (I prefer Panang or Yellow), China has Kung Pao Chicken, Spain has chicken paella, Mexico has chicken tortas, and so on. Except Ethiopian, that seems to be all vegetarian. This went on a little longer than I had originally intended, but you get the picture. We all love chicken.
I think it is supposed to resemble Meeeechigan but yeah it is good and terrible. I guess it meeeeechigan and meatchicken sound similar to dumb asses.
Yeah, I get that is sounds similar. But what I'm saying is that it's just not an insult, as specified above.

Chicken, on the other hand, is either delicious and healthy (when prepared properly) or just simply delicious. It is also high in protein and relatively affordable. It is a staple in nearly every culture'e cuisine.

So when coach Hoke said it, he was giving ND a compliment?
It's possible. He's a great guy.
You replied as I was trying to fix it. Now everyone knows I'm a blockquote n00b
Yea, but NDs head coach said we chickened out, so it makes sennn,... Er wait???
Chicken tikka masala . . .Kung Pao Chicken . . . fried chicken . . . chicken curry . . .
This thread, especially your post, has made me hungry.
/goes to fridge, gets snack
This needs to be the automatic response to anyone calling Michigan "MeatChicken" from now on

Whatever brainless Spartan, Buckeye, or Domer said that to you initially will be so stupefied by your response that you will be the argument by default as you will have melted their brain to a pool of troll brain soup
so I won't be too harsh about it, but on this blog people don't enjoy the whole O$U, Suckeyes, etc and I'm pretty sure they won't like the whole cOckSUckers one either. Also, I have no idea what your pOSU means. Anyway, you've been made aware, take the advice or leave it. I just wanted to let you know.
Chinas claim to chicken fame has to be general tso's chicken. I'll also suggest that Burger King was well on its way to making the chicken fry an american staple prior to prematurely removing it from their menu.
Ethiopian cuisine is definitely not all vegetarian. One of the most popular Ehtiopian dishes is Kitfo, which is raw beef.
A quick google search reveals that Ehtiopians definitely have chicken dishes. Therefore, everyone loves Meat Chicken.
It has an entry on UrbanDictionary.com - (HERE)
According to this, it is a derogatory term for Michigan and and Michigan fans, although I admit that I had honestly never heard it until this thread. If this blog turns out to be largely unfamiliar with it, then it can't really be all that needling as insults go. Well, actually, it is pretty stupid regardless.
you're not hanging out on Bleacher Report, the Ozone or Eleven Warriors these days.
I was so confused. I thought he was referring to themselves as being chicken meat.... "Chickened out = meat chicken????? Wtf." - My exact thoughts.
I remember in the 90's, when I started getting hooked on the internet, that was a typical "slam" to us by OSU fans, from what I read.
scUM, most commonly used by MSU fans, is on the level of an insult from a middle schooler. MeatChicken would be full out elementary school.
TBH I didn't understand until you posted this comment... I assumed he was calling Hoke a Meat Chicken for whatever it's worth, or that he knew we love to put M in front of things... eg. MGoBlue, MGoBlog, MEatChicken...
Welcome to Franklin County. The beer's in the gas station.
via a drive-thru
I love this stuff...nothing evil, nothing with malice. Just a rivalry.
Touch gloves and let's go!
LET YOUR NUTS HANG!!
Meat chicken has to be the most original insult I haven't heard since about 3rd grade. What are they teaching over there?
I also think it is understood that Hoke was speaking of the powers that be in SB, not the players. How did Dantonio miss out on this guy, he sounds like he would be a perfect fit in EL.
because he can't rap
Lots of that going around, it seems.
LOL Meatchicken? Oh Louis.
Sounds like a special at Chick-fil-A.
Notre Dame football program = pussies
Pussied out? #MeatPussy. Pussy will taste delicious September 7th.
Yep, that works too.
I prefer not to wait that long...
Meh, as long as it doesn't get personal, its all in good-natured fun. That's what makes rivalries great. We all should have expected some form of response to Hoke's statement, and I'm surprised we haven't gotten more at this point.
"notre dame chicken" now has over five million hits on google. Granted, they aren't 100% relevant. But the attention to this headline is spreading like wildfire.
Did Nix forget to turn off CAPS LOCK before he created his Twitter account?
If I had a nickel for every time that happens to me.yAKaTTACK, OUT!
I never understood why people said meatchicken alot of Ohio fans say it.
The jerk store called... and they're running out of you!
Their all-time best seller.
Well I slept with your wife.
...not. My kindergartner has snappier comebacks than that!
So, the metaphor of a chicken, like ND, eating a wolverine does not make much sense.
Indeed, chickens like ND, are not carnivores but omnivores.. They eat most anything. They scrounge around on the ground eating so many bugs and weeds that their poop turns green....
which ironically is the color of Notre Dame's mascot and traditional jerseys.
i think that already happened in the national championship game
Somebody please teach the entire student section the Chicken Dance before UTL2. It will be a thing of beauty to see them all doing it as Notre Dame takes the field.
I literally have no idea what this tweet was meant to instill in Hoke and the UM faithful. Was Nix threatening to eat UM as meat, I guess as opposed to as a legumme? Does he not think Chicken is classically identified as "meat"? Just crazy stuff out of a large man who runs into other large men for a living.
ShitBend has been Owned by UofM, we won 3 of the last 4. I been saying this for the past 2 years since Hoke and Co came aboard if they couldn't beat DickRod they will not beat Hoke on a consistent basis. I agree with Hoke ND is scared to play us.
ShitBend and DickRod in the same post? You need to take that shit back to mlive.
There have been a lot of comments on this thread that made me wish that pos bangs were back in effect. Yours, however, along with a few others have given me a yearning for the negbangs.
when you say "we", who are you including?
This is one of those rare, rare, times when the bulletin board material helps the speaker's team more than the targetted team.
Because it is PLAINLY true.
God, I hope Hoke lays a beatdown on them.
I want Notre Dame deboned and turned into nuggets.
Gold nuggets... Chicken nuggets?
1. A chickened-out vs. Meatchicken game results in a cock fight.
2. We've already received a clandestine bid to the Chick-fil-A Bowl.
No one will car by then. I won't remember because I'll be drunk.
This is like that moment in high school when you find out all your "friends" had a nickname for you, and you actually think it's pretty funny and start using it yourself, and then you get a letterman jacket and put your nickname on it and then everyone respects you because your cool like that and are cool with yourself, and everyone likes you and your nickname and then you get to college and it suddenly seems really dumb so you try real hard to come up with a new nickname and now everyone thinks you are so lame because your trying to be something you're not and you think, I wish I could go back to high school and be MeatChicken again. Sigh. And this one time at band camp...
Im listening. What happened at band camp?
as what he calls himself on Twitter,1 Irish Chocolate. I suppose this makes him a ladies man. Although everyone knows the only time women eat chocolate, is when they are depressed and or pregnant
To hell with Notre Dame , Beat Ohio!
The kid is defending his school; I respect that. I also may want to add, "Bring it on, moth...."
Well, you get the idea.
Defending an incorrect position warrants respect?
Does Mr. Nix understand the motivations if the ND AD?
Bring it Irish chicken
MeatChicken or IrishChocolate?
Which is more healthy?
Mr. Hayes of the Sporting News wrote an Op-Ed for today's Sporting News. In the article, he attempts to make the statement supporting Notre Dame dropping the Michigan game; not because they are "chicken", but because they like the view from the top. Thank you Mr. Hayes for proving Hoke's point. Notre Dame wants to drop the Michigan game because there is a coin flip chance they will lose, regardless of how good they are. They also KNOW a loss to the Maize and Blue will remove them from any title contention; regardless of how good they are. In other words, playing Michigan is not worth the risk of falling out of title contention. To translate for those who do not speak Notre Dame; they are afraid they might lose and not get a title shot. Mr. Hayes, well spoken; CHICKEN!
just got upped another notch....I see a beat down coming to the Irish.
