To Hell with Notre Dame. Thanks #Hail Edit: If your morning could use a good laugh, go and visit the game thread at Irish Envy.

Even though Kalis and Cole each got smoked once on Saturday and Miller got bull rushed once, I am pretty optimistic tha the O line will be decent by the end of the year. They looked coherent and they looked like they knew what they were doing. Mistakes like the ones I mentioned will happen from time to time, it's just that last year they were compounding these by totally ignoring defenders, being in the wrong place, just playing bad. I think they have done a great job of addressing and working on those issues. They still can improve and will have to and Notre Dame will be a great place to start.

I went back and read the 2006 pregame thread over at Irish Envy, and a good number of Domers were expressing real concern over the game even though we really hadn't done anything yet to justify that.  That concern turned out to be valid.

This year?  They all expect to blow us out.  Kinda weird.

That being said, I would gladly trade an early season road loss to the domers if it meant two road victories vs. Sparty and OSU later in the year.  I literally live by the "To Hell with ND" quote...

Folsom scores early, but...

- Willie Henry grabs the spotlight
- Peppers gets a Pic and big PR
- Darboh and Chesson come to the party

Honestly I didn't think Golston looked that great against Rice. Rice didn't have that great of athletes in the secondary and yet insisted on playing man coverage. Their receivers won't be as wide open this week against Michigan's DBs and Golston might have to make some throws that require touch instead of just shot-putting deep balls. I also think he'll have some 300 pounders laying on him all day. So that should help as well.

(Rice had 145 yards of total offense in that game and gave up 533).

No, I'm not suggesting App State is good or even better.

I've lived in Houston my entire life and off and on followed all of the major and minor programs around here.

Rice was, and should have been, a bowling pin.

Rice has had two ten win seasons since 1949 (their third and only other ten win season).  The last time Rice had 10 wins, with this same coach, they followed it up with a two win season.

This was a rebuilding year for... Rice.

Normally at this point, I'd say something positive about Rice, but their stadium left a bad taste in my mouth when I went there a million years back.

All that being said, my only point is that we didn't really learn much about either team (outside of what anyone can learn from a team dominating a team they should) from the opening games.

No need to get defensive. You are, after all, on a Michigan football blog. When a QB can throw a ball 60 yards in the air to a receiver who has to slow down to catch the ball and is still wide open, they are not playing a good secondary. I merely said it won't be that easy this week and Golston won't look as good.

Tom Hammond has always given me the willies when I watch his broadcasts.  Football, Olympics, you name it.  Every time he stops talking and turns to look at his broadcast partner, he just stares at them in the strangest way and invades their body space.

Totally unnerving.

You can entertain a reasonable expectation of privacy in a photograph you take which will be kept in your immediate possession. However, disseminating that photo through a cloud service through your own volition or negligence, hardly demonstrates that you had a reasonable expectation of privacy in those items. I'm not saying what was done is not an invasion of privacy - it obviously was, but just how culpable are the offending parties when the victim(s) negligently or otherwise, uploaded their naked tatas to a cloud service? Case In point - this is a VERY different case than the Erin Andrews affair.

If Funchess doesn't get about 30 passes thrown his way, I'll be disappointed. That dude is a demon monster from hell and I would not want to be the guy trying to out-jump him or bring him down after the catch. I never got to see Braylon play in person, but after seeing Funchess about to explode out of his pads on Saturday, I have to imagine he's right there talent-wise.

I think UM probably has a better roster top to bottom, but if ND gets the win it will be because they will have been able to take advantage of any issues Michigan hasn't been able to iron out in week 2. A win for Michigan will be huge because it should propel them forward with confidence, experience and development and I would fully expect to be undefeated going into East Lansing.

Does anyone know a good place to go tailgate or a good bar in South Bend that will be M friendly.  My buddy and I are going with hope of finding tickets but will probably end up at a bar.

So I'm usually just a reader here and don't contribute much, but I decided to make a wallpaper as a goodbye present for our friends in South Bend. Didn't have enough points to start a new thread, so it's going here!
