After some thought, and reading some of the replies generated I have thought better of this post and am removing it myself. Plus no one else had ever heard the rumor I was bringing up, so its best to just let it lie.
and these are the days of our lives...
women, can't live with them, can't divorce them without alimony.
Thank you Augger. Should I put my pants on before my shoes or my shoes on before my pants?
I have never heard this, and I bet nobody on this board has ever heard that =) (use Irish's legend on the bottom of his post)
I am responsible for Irish's legend!
Wow, that's a good one. Let's make it worse: a midget and Denise from Taco Bell were prominently involved.
I heard that Les Miles gave a Michigan fan's dog a butt infection.
Please leave, moron.
For using the word "truthiness". Thank you Stephen Colbert.
I think it is one thing to speculate about rumours regarding recruits, but something entirely different to drag peoples name through the mud without evidence.
People on this board may be a lot different than I am, but I find this type of gossip to be particularly offensive. Neg as you will.
Everyone has heard the rumor that Miles didnt get hired at UM because he was sleeping with another of the coaches' wife back in the day
I know it's fun to believe that these sort of familial scandals lead to Les Miles not being hired at Michigan, and I'm guilty of it too, but I really wish that this could just stop. Les Miles isn't our coach because Bill Martin didn't think he was the man for the job and Rich Rodriguez was/is. End of story.
Interesting explanation; thanks for sharing it. Wahoo, I'm sure you gave the dog's infected butt the appropriate injection. I can't (and don't really want to) figure out some of the other comments to your post.
Could give a s^&t less about Miles. Have always wondered what the hell got into Moller. Kind of like the Jimmy Hoffa disappearance.
I heard David Terrell has the bomb-ass dick. Confirm/deny?
My brother swears he heard that in person. No foolin'.
Where can I get more snapshots of Big Boutros and his man-sweater?
YOU DO DT!!! YOU DO!!!
But you should have skipped the post.
You say it yourself: you have no evidence for whether the rumor is true. You just heard it from someone who's only apparent authority for saying it is that he (or she) is a UM alumnus, a status shared with hundreds of thousands of others.
Nevertheless, you repeat this rumor which disparages . . .
The rumor doesn't explain anything to me. If it's true, you're trafficking in other people's misery and humiliation. If it's false, you're perpetuating a lie.
[Edited to remove any reference to the original rumor posted. Thanks for removing it.]
your source probably spends too much time on this very blog. That rumor is indeed unsubstantiated, but it's been making its way around the internet for at least two years now. I'm guessing your friend is a poster on this blog who decided to repeat something he read on a thread while he was supposed to be working.
It's always funny when internet-world and real-world collide.
les miles banged matt guiterrez the summer before the 04 season and during their wild fun, gutz hurt his shoulder. Carr never forgave either of them.
What is it about me that I can't help but keep reading after it's been said very clearly,
I have zero proof or evidence, and can say nothing about its truthiness it was an interesting tie in of a bunch of things I always wondered about...
In creative writing, you learn that everything that goes on in a story has to have some sort of explanation -- events are all connected and lead to the final outcome. You do this because that's what readers like. They like stories that all fit together, so the world you've invited them into makes sense and they are on top of it and feel good.
They like this because that's not the real world. In the real world, your head coach may just spazz out while drunk at a strip club for no discernible reason whatsoever. Years later your heir presumptive may sign a multi-year contract while your AD is somewhere in the Caribbean under sail power. These things may not make much sense. Stories can make it all make sense. But I have a feeling this one is just that: story. It has the ring of high tale. It has little ring of truth.
What probably happened is they had some questions about the overall SEC-ness of how LSU had been run under Miles, and didn't think Schiano would say "no."
The sailboat was an accident, and it got under the skin of many who follow football incessantly that a man near retirement facing the most stressful decision of his career would be at sleeping, let alone at sea, during a time that loyal fans were eschewing both to stay by their refresh buttons.
But it was an accident.
Just as Mo was alcohol.
And it all ended with Martin pulling a rabbit out of a hat and a broken finger and a negotiation process that was reminiscent of what Texas Tech is going through now.
Good points there, Misopogon. We all want to find an explanation for events that might ultimately just be random. Just one little correction though: Mo's drunken flip-out didn't take place at a strip club, but rather at Excalibur, an upscale restaurant frequented by former strippers-turned-escorts.
Everything I read here is true...or it wouldn't be here, let it be written.
