Breakdown: Shaw was mean to an unpadded osu player last year. During a dinner at Coach Jacksons house there were airsoft guns. They are HIGHLY dangerous. RR recruits bad people to represent the school. Also, MGOBLOG is involved.

Yes,I know the whole thing is just stupid. It involves the blog we love and one of our top running backs, although meaningless it is still "news".

I went back 8 pages on the MgoBoard and didnt see anything that looked like it had anything to do with this, so if it was posted then neg away.

I don't know that I've ever read a Sports By Brooks post, and now I can say with certainty that I haven't been missing anything.  What garbage.

Its TMZ for sports, some of the stuff is interesting. After this though I doubt I ever go to that site again. Again it was just something that has not been posted and lets people that read that site know not to.

I second the notion of never needing to visit that site again and it also shows the new direction of media, posting crap because someone will read it.  However, I did enjoy the video clip of "the same Shaw who bullied a pad-less Ohio St. player last year in Ann Arbor".

Mine is the "Sports by Brooks Sucks" username.

What is this cheapshot thing? Is it supposed to be false news or something? I'm not familiar with this guy. If he's serious, that is just ridiculous. If he's not serious, find someone who is at a high point to take a cheapshot at. Michigan has been kicked while down so much that it doesn't even seem "in" anymore. It's just old, and cruel. We are the butt of the jokes, until we lift that crystal trophy this January (source: THE_KNOWLEDGE)

I remember the Shaw incident with the OSU guy - he shouldn't have done it but it basically a kid getting a little too excited and it got caught on camera - can't believe this guy dug it up for a "news" story.

Here's what really made me laugh though.  I have two teenagers and have several of those "guns" - except ours are the machine-gun shaped style, not the little pistol.  I must be a really bad person/parent.  Also have a big jar of the "ammo" on the garage shelf if anyone wants to drop by.  They shoot them at anything that moves including deer and squirrels.  Okay, you should wear eye protection but they bounce off your skin.

Not to say that I believe in significant censorship, but perhaps anything that comes from this asshat (brooks) can be banned on here. I don't want or need to hear what some dillhole thinks. All this has done is made me hate people even more.

Ha, this piling on is hilarious. I really think that people must be jealous of our past success. I mean when USC started sinking I was happy as hell. Why? Not that I hate USC, but because I hated their success (and they cheated, but well yea). That story reads like a National Inquirer piece. Where is the Warewolf baby?

Really?! I had a couple friends in undergrad at UM that had airsoft guns.  I played with them all throughout high school. To say RR is ruining the program (Brooks fails to mention the Jackson was around before RR) because there are airsoft guns is just plain mudslinging.

To consider this a headline is just degrading to all of sports media!

I'm pretty sure if you're a guy, UofM doesn't let you graduate until you've had an all-out airsoft war in AA.

One night a few years back my roommate and I bought a 30-pack and proceeded to shoot each other in the most painful places we could think of...earlobes, tongue, inner lip, etc.  Yeah, it was about as dumb as you can get, but fun as hell.

Brooks looks like a total corksoaker.    Not that there's anything wrong with him having his own personal freedom to go soak some corks.   Just that he looks like he just got done soaking a couple.

without a doubt the stupidest thing I've read on the internet in the past year.  That article was awful.

EDIT: Also if you read the comments below the "article", the author gets hammered pretty hard (as he should).

...about this is that what Brooks got out of the CTK spot is "Shaw as tunnel cheap shot artist plus air soft guns at position group get together at RB Asst Coach's house" is an apt metaphor for the state of Michigan's football program under RichRod.

What looks dangerous, takes shots that can injure people on impact but almost never completely breaks through to the intended target?

Stumped? Try brushing up on the RichRod era at UM.

Brooks is the cheap shot artist here.  But it is what is and this is just another example of the "Haters Gonna Hate" meme.

That Brooks uses his perch to lob another salvo at RichRod and Michigan is your typical sports bloggery, but it's sad that he uses Michael Shaw as his instrument to do it.  Lacking any evidence that Shaw is any more dangerous than any football player a little too amped up before a rivalry game who also participates in a fairly common activity among today's young male population (including my son and his high school friends in our white, exurban middle class subdivision), Brooks portrays Shaw as the archetypical scary young black man.  And then he laughs it off as harmless tomfoolery.

Michigan fans are sophisticated, surprised at reax to poking a little fun. Walls indeed closing in. http://bit.ly/dB2AET

Just poking a little fun, eh? Excuse me if I'm not laughing, Brooksie.

By this DB's reasoning, the real problem is that Fred Jackson's choice of bonding activity was a little air soft action which is soft and weak and ineffective.  The next time he gets them all together, the weapon of choice should apparently be something more lethal, like Machs and Techs.
