Nothing is going to happen

Let me first say that I was extremely pissed off yesterday at the way everything went down. I still can't believe professionals are allowed to print something like that; something that was so poorly written and had so many holes. But after having slept on it, I truely think absolutely nothing will happen to the football program and here is why: -Two current players quoted, JeRon Stokes and Brandon Hawthorne, have already stated they were miss quoted. -Toney Clemons is now retracting a little bit from his original statements -Carson Butler said RR did nothing wrong...he is the one person that would actually have an axe to grind. -The NCAA will investigate and all the compliance department has to do is show them the signed papers from players saying they stayed within the alloted time...end of story really. -The NCAA may want to investigate further and talk to players but if you think anyone on the current team is going have the balls to speak out now, you are dreaming. I am pretty sure BG and Minor have already called a team meeting and threatened to kill their dog if anyone snitches. So basically all the NCAA has to go off of is some shady report from two Free Press writers who don't really have any facts...just opinions from former players and the number of former players seem to be changing. So basically my advice to everyone is to relax. I guarantee you nothing will happen to RR or the University. What will happen will be the closing of The Fort...good bye all access. If we win this weekend in a blowout all will be forgotten. Post game reports will be about how the team came together and that will be the end of it.

My thoughts exactly. You cannot repair the bad PR though. Sucks and the last thing we need. Hopefully we use to to kill everyone w/ play b/c we have extra practice. I can't wait to walk out of EL w/ a win and hear the Spartan fans saying you should b/c you had so much extra practice.

It's, of course, good news that nothing is likely to come of this. However, like 2Blue4You said above, the damage is already done -- you cannot repair bad PR. Hell, I still hear nonsense floating around about Shred Fest 2008, where RR was allegedly shredding WVU players' permanent records (he wasn't).

cook the books or engage in any wrong doing regarding practices, etc. during his seven years there 2001-2007. Link: http://dailymail.com/Sports/WVUSports/200909010003?page=2&build=cache So Rosenberg and Snyder would have us all believe that Rodriguez unhatched his evil practicing plot only when he arrived in Ann Arbor. Nice detective work. Hey, did Rosenberg really graduate from the University of Michigan? Because if he did, that's a pretty god damned embarrassing piece of work he displayed.

Toney Clemons is NOT "recanting" or "retracting" his statements. He's saying he answered questions and he doesn't want to be bothered anymore. That's not a retraction.

The NCAA is like a vampire, NEVER invite them into your house. I want to believe nothing will come of this, but there's no telling what they'll find once they start digging. That's the scary part about this whole thing. I think the whole story is pretty baseless or at the very least sensationalized to smear Rodriguez, but if we have the NCAA inside The Fort poking around, chances are they'll find some kind of irregularity. Will it be serious? Probably not, hard to believe Coach Rodriguez would be that careless, but I'd be surprised if some token issue wasn't cited. Of course the Freep will use that to label their story "credible". Pffttt!
