This is not last years team!

A win is a win. It's better to work on mistakes after a win instead of a loss. This is not last years team. We never quit and never stop fighting. Very proud of the defense. Let's celebrate this win and Go Blue!!

see those guys with raw blisters on their hands? Those are the players that held the rope as it slipped through their hands. They allowed us to get to this point. Bless 'em, each and every one, especially the freshmen who were forced to stand tall early. The team will reap the benefits.

I was originally thinking the same thing, but Hagerup is doing wonderfully, so this assistant would only be needed for the field goal kickers. However, considering how we have a relatively small number of assistants (due to self-punishment), I don't know if we want to devote one assistant to a single person (Gibbons/Broeckhuisen) -- that assistant may not be able to make it any better. We might just be better off recruiting another kicker and hoping that he is self-coachable.

The weather was awful, probably one reason why there were so many turnovers. Denard's intercepted pass to Tacopants was pretty embarrassing though. But, a win is a win, and time to look on to Wisconsin, who's put up 70+ on Indiana today.

We have a TEAM. The D stepped up when the O was struggling. Usually the O protects the house. Gotta love it. The O will bounce back next week at home. 7-3 and ALL IN for Richigan.

"Richigan"? The "All In" nonsense always seemed to be about RR and not the team, but now to see "Richigan". We are solidly entrenched in the Illinois-Purdue-Northwestern-Indiana level of the Big Ten. We almost lost to possibly the worst team we've played this year (whose QB's were physically unable to throw the ball beyond ten yards). I don't understand how the reaction to this game can be any better than, "Phew...At least we got the W." That's "Richigan" to you?

No thanks. I'll take Michigan...the team...the team...the team.

I'm a Michigan fan. The coach is part of the team. To give props to the coach today is a bit of a joke. I don't think he's a bad coach, but think he coached poorly today. Folks should be happy with the win, but it's a lesser program that would get excited about a win like this. Not Michigan.

Look, We won the game. We should ALWAYS be happy with a win. Particularly on the road after the last 2 seasons. I'm not saying RR coached a perfect game, but do you blame the int's and fumbles on him? I thought the playcalling was decent (except for not going on the 4th and 2 inches). Purdue's D-Line was getting lots of pressure...BUT we found a way to win. The Team stayed together. Credit the coach a little for that at least.

Michigan, OSU, or Oregon....a win is a win and we need to be happy when we get them.

And big wins were to get excited over. So yeah, it's nice...but let's not go crazy.

And I wouldn't blame coaching if the turnovers were just today...but 10 in 2 weeks and lord knows how many in the last month and a half, yeah, we're not coaching ball security or smart decision making well enough.

The defense did a really good job, even though it was against a horrid offensive team. But this wasn't the game to be screaming contract extensions from the top of. Got the win, we'll take it, do better next week. We'll have to.

Again...I'm happy that we won, but I don't see anything on the field to be happy about looking forward. RR called a bad game. Not taking the penalty thus allowing a FG before the half? Rotating QBs on every drive with mounting turnovers? Finally giving Hopkins plenty of carries on the first game where Smith is getting it done? Let's not talk about Purdue like they're the Pittsburgh Steelers. Two bad teams played a bad game today and one walked away with a W. The same thing happened last week against Illinois.

Let's root for the team and be realistic at the same time.

Looks like the D came in strong today after a better, exciting showing last week against Illinois. Hope they do the same next week against Wiscy. Judging by the score of the IN / WI game it looks like they have their work cut out for them.

........this guarantees a winning season.........glad to see the team giving up on themselves after so many turnovers, especially the defense for playing tough all day......didn't give up a touchdown and only giving up 259 total yards.....pretty good day for the defense.

At least in the defense, when they looked so lost against Penn State. (And Penn State's walk-on QB just threw his second TD against OSU! So maybe they're no slouches either.) But the defense didn't look lost, or even slightly vague. Sure, there were misses, but they looked focused, seemed to be in the right places, and even managed some definitive tackles in those right places! And yes, the maligned guys were making highlight plays, and yes, I noticed Ezeh showing up where I wouldn't have expected him. And that can't all be blamed on a weak Purdue offense. Especially when it's the second week in a row that showed distinct improvement.

Encouraging. Not only for the future of our young players, but possible defensive recruits who are looking not just for playing time but for a place that can make them better than when they get here.
