an in depth discussion along the way this summer, but why is there no place for a speedy slot receiver-kick return guy?   Harbaugh obviously has an eye for players that can produce and those that cannot.   Norfleet just seems like someone that is a star waiting to happen under the right circumstances.

Re: Norfleet not listed on roster. Teams can't have more than 105 players in fall camp. If he has to earn his way back, absence makes sense.

Retired Numbers: 11, 21, 47, 48, 87

Triple Number Assignments*: 5 (QB John O’Korn, ATH Jabrill Peppers and WR Kenneth Sloss), 7 (DE Shelton Johnson, QB Shane Morris, TE/DE Henry Poggi), 8 (QB Joe Hewlett, DB Channing Stribling, TE/DE Tyrone Wheatley), 12 (LB Allen Gant, QB Alex Malzone, P Blake O’Neill), 15 (QB Garrett Moores, LB James Ross III, QB Jake Rudock), 27 (RB Derrick Green, LB Chris Terech, DB Travis Wooley) and 38 (LB John Andrysiak, DB Francois Montbrun, FB Nick Volk)

Single Numbers Available*: 14-D, 16-D (but NOT S/T), 23-D, 25-O, 26-O, 28-O, 29-O or D (depending on where Ross Taylor-Douglas plays), 30-O, 34-O, 35-O, 36-D, 37-D, 39-D, 40-D, 41-O and D (but NOT S/T), 42-O, 45-O or D (depending on where Brady Pallente plays), 46-O, 50-O, 53-O, 54-O and D, 56-O, 58-O and D, 59-O, 60-O and D, 63-D, 64-O, 65-O and D, 66-O, 67-D, 68-O and D, 69-O, 70-D, 71-D 72-D, 74-D, 75-D, 76-D, 77-D, 78-D, 79-O and D**, 80-D, 81-D, 82-D, 83-D, 84-D, 85-D, 86-D. 89-D, 90-O, 91-O and D (but NOT S/T), 92-O 93-O 94-D, 95-D 96-O 97-O, 98-O and D, 99-O

* Assuming that Desmond Morgan will wear number 3 this season, instead of 48, 3 is no longer available. Guessing that 1 and 2 will be unavailable. Can O’Korn be assigned number 5, even while he redshirts? Both QB Zach Gentry and WR Da’Mario Jones are listed as number 10, and both TE Jake Butt and TE Jack Dunaway are listed as number 88. Will Gentry and Dunaway need new numbers, even if they redshirt?

** For those who asked, it appears that  DL Leon Johnson may have decided to retire from football. He is NOT listed on the new roster.

is a TE? Wow... Noah Furbush still needs to add a lot of weight...looks like we'll have some more attrition....have to trim down the roster somehow??? Chris Fox is still on the roster?

*Edit...no new weights, etc have been added nor have the number changes for returning players... I would assume a trimmed roster will be out before camp.

If he got permission to talk to coaches at Tuskeegee, he probably asked. And if he asked, presumably he thought there might be an opportunity elsewhere for him to play. Maybe Norfleet is taking other people up and choosing to play elsewhere rather than not take JH up on his offer.

Yes, but the plan involves Norfleet, you know, following through on it.   Harbaugh has basically laid it out that he can stay here and get his degree if he follows the plan they set up.

The student still has to do the work.

Bummer. Wish he could've found a place on the team.

Hope he can find success on the field elsewhere. Even though the team consistently failed to perform up to expectations, at least he looked like he was having fun.
