While I think it is great that the players support Hoke, I am very surprised that the program is allowing them to talk to the media.

If given the chance, I'm sure we would all like to reassure the kids that we aren't criticizing their play or effort.  And maybe ask them to talk to someone like Devin who was here when RR got canned.  I'm sure Devin thought RR was a great guy who supported him, and all of the players.  That doesn't mean he was the right coach, at the right time, for Michigan.

And what will happen if hell freezes over tomorrow?  Looking at this crap on the field...do you seriously think he will win the B1G?  The OC we got FROM BAMA was going to be fired...stop with this nonsense that we stole their OC.  Faith in a guy that gave us 3 bowl games?  The only win was with Rich Rod's players.  An alarming loss to an average K State last year where the team wasn't the least bit prepared...we're supposed to give him credit for this?

He would have to beat PSU (toss-up at best), MSU (certain loss), OSU (more of a toss up than people think, but lean loss). Not to mention dispatching lower-tier teams such as IU, MD (they're looking good), and Rutgers (should win). Simply put, there would have to be a complete 180. I agree we can't fire him yet, but all signs point to him going 7-5/6-6, which means he should be fired at the end of the season.

Wish I shared your optimism, but it ain't gonna happen.

We understand Brady is a "great guy" and his players appreciate the type of coach he is...nobody will disagree with that.  Maybe a large part of the problem comes from him being the type of coach he is...all rah rah, go team, etc. and little else.  Being a "nice guy" has nothing to do with being a good football coach.  Understanding tradition has nothing to do with being a good football coach.  Putting your players in a position to succeed, developing players, Xs and Os, making adjustments when you realize something isn't working, motivating your players, and most importantly WINS AND LOSSES is what makes you a good football coach.  Look at the the last 12...4-8 and looking completely unprepared and physically overmatched in several of those losses.  What's wrong with a little "in your face" when players need to get chewed out.  Yes...if a player makes a bad mistake he should be chewed out.  Instead...ours get a clap and a pat on the ass as they walk back to the sidelines.  The "Godfather of Michigan Football" Bo was not a nice guy.  There were many times he let his players have it and deservedly so.  I just get so tired of those folks who think that he deserves this job and is qualified to hold this job because he is a "nice guy".  Like it or not...the man is here to win football games.  Don't give me this graduation rate BS...his primary job is to win and in the last 12 games he is losing more than he is winning.

If you honestly believe that Hoke doesn't chew players out in practice, let me disabuse you of that notion. I've been to practices. He does. More importantly, the position coaches do. In reality, the head coach has much less direct interaction with players than the position coach does. This actually makes a dressing down by the head coach a very powerful tool; its rare, so when it happens, the kids remember it and get the point. He doesn't chew them out on game day. That's a good thing. First, you don't want to embarrass the kid, yourself, or the program on national TV. Second, the kid probably won't be helped by chewing him out during a game, he has to focus on the next play.
