MSU, on the other hand, looks turrible on offense.  I know the announcers are trying their best to talk up USF's defense, but anyone would look good against this offense.  I know Maxwell hasn't been great, but Cook looks completely lost out there.  And while this MSU defense is good, I'm not sure their "dominant" play against two pretty poor offenses says much.

I loved the gameday segment on Devin Gardner's cartoon-watching habit. Hoke = Fred Flintstone was especially funny.

Scheelhaase is looking weirdly good.

Penn State goes to the half with a 17-7 lead over Eastern Michigan. Of note, Hackenburg has put up 207 passing yards an no passing TDs as yet. Both TDs have been scored on rushing plays, and interestingly, Penn State has only 58 rushing yards, 44 of them on one run by Bill Belton.

Switching to USF-MSU, we see that Connor Cook is 3-of-6 for 1 yard. This is NOT a typo or omission.

Terry and O'Connor have to play today for Sparty.  Cook is a poor man's Stanton.  And I mean very poor.  Maxwell you just destroyed for the year by completely benching him and putting him as 3rd string.  p.s. Sparty has a nice punter - just not sure if his leg is going to last this year.

With the entrance of Tyler O'Connor, Michigan State uses its third QB in five quarters of regulation play this year so far. The stat line for Cook ends up being:

4-for-7 for 6 yards, or 0.86 YPA. Cook also owns 3 rushes for -9 yards thanks to the sack / fumble.

As I am laughing my ass off at this MSU offense, I went to check their 2014 schedule. I am reminded that their 2nd game next year is at Oregon.....my god.
