They ARE on their way back. Blah blah blah responsibility, blah blah players from Michigan blah blah blah fundamentals blah blah blah blah they lost BUT it was a moral victory blah blah Pride comes before the fall. There, Drew Sharp, I just wrote your column for you for the next few months.

Illinois is absolutely terrible. They look like 2008 Michigan, except I think they're even worse. They have so much veteran offensive talent, I don't get it.

I can't remember him having any stretches of "so damn good." I can remember flashes from one or two games, but never sustained success. He's always been of the type that "one day, this guy is going to be awesome." He's been hyped for the athletic freak that he is, which is fair. His athleticism is what allowed him to play so well against Michigan defenses that could never defend a mobile quarterback. But he has never developed as a football player, at least not in my e-pinion. Part of that goes back to the Florida days of Zook. He was always a great recruiter, but he never developed his talent. Or so at least that's how I always understood it.

Fumble on the goalline? Could have been a sparty NOOOO! moment, but Illinois is completely inept. Ron Zook is easily the worst coach in the big 10. Edit: And the shortest punt I've seen in a while right after I hit save. Wow they're bad.

Did Cousins start and then get yanked early or has Nichol played the whole game? I tuned it late 1st quarter and have seen only Nichol getting snaps.

I've got DishNetwork, comes with ESPNU (UH/MSU game), ESPNClassic, Versus, CBSCollegeSports, etc. MSU just had their running back carry 2 Cougars over 20 yards as they just tried to strip instead of tackle. UH has been doing that all day and it has really cost them. The first guy that could have tackled the RB just stopped, stood up straight and tried to hack the ball as the RB flew past him. UPDATE: UH marches down the field in a minute-twenty. MSU loses the outside guy in cover two. Wide open at the goal line on the sideline.

Ouch, Winston looks like he took a shot to the knee on that tackle, otherwise I doubt he would've gone down, they don't seem to be able to tackle at all Cut to AJ Sturges cheering on the Wild Fan Cam

I'm not happy to see him injured, but I also don't feel bad. I decidedly neutral. I love how the BTN announcers are so vanilla in describing how Winston "overcame some off-the-field issues."

I'm one of the few that's still really high on Purdue this year. I think the bigger issue is how bad is Minnesota. Their offensive strategy is pass to Decker. Purdue has done a good job of limiting his touches. Purdue isn't that bad of a team. I don't think they're a top half of the conference team, but I firmly believe that Minnesota, Illinois, and Northwestern are all much worse than they are.
