Not the best slate of games, but you never know.
Minnesota-PSU might be decent.
Purdue goes for that coveted first victory against Iowa.
Auburn-Tennessee, FSU-Wake, Mizzou-Kentucky and Texas Tech-KSU are top 25 matchups on right now.
Pulling for Minny
goes for it and QB gets sacked. Ferentz vows to never go for it again.
Minn will beat PSU by double digits.
Iowa's allergies at the 30 yard line could hurt Boilerquest... if Purdue can ever score.
Wait, is the quest for them to get a win or to go winless?
Sweet 4th down call for Minny there. That was open for us all game vs PSU too.
Sigh...another team handling PSU.
That win against the Gophers is looking better and better. When did Minnesota get so good?
Oh probably about the time they hired a coach with a track record of building successful teams and then stuck with him instead of firing him in favor of a middling coach with a career losing record. #f'ingmichiganmannepotism
and made them winners, right?
If you are going to be so ignorant about college football you should not post on a board where it is discussed.
Ball State was far worse than anything RR took on. Like in EMU-bad. If you followed MACtion you'd know this.
game the boilers have the ball but they never score, not a good sign...
Good sign for Boilerquest
Is calling for veteran awareness. Using their huge profits for veterans grants and scholarships and funding and aiding wounded vets is very noble and well deserved and a great use of the schools and ncaa's not profit, non taxed status.
Oh? It's an awareness campaign and 10% of school proceeds on merchandise sales go to a charity while the athletic dept builds $15 million tennis complexes and tutoring centers and ADs have staffs of dozens with total staff salaries in the millions? Ok.
Of course it's basically another way to get you to part with your money. But we have to acknowledge that 1) sports are very important to the average student's college experience and are important to university fundraising and 2) they are very, very costly to run. Fans demand good results, and those usually mean expensive coaching staffs and facilities. Paying tuition for all these guys isn't cheap either.
Most athletic departments actually lose money. If they do make money, it gets flowed back into the athletic programs. It's not like there are shareholders raking in dividends.
Football is self-sustaining. These other sports are not.
Dave Brandon knows that which is why he milking UM football for every dollar. It isn't for the football team, but every other sport save for hockey and men's basketball.
But invoking the flag and veterans to do so is shameful and embarrassing as a way to raise funds for athletics.
Theses schools get over $20,000,000 from the big ten network alone and they have to come up with desperate, shameful, gimmicks like this to get someone to buy a jersey so they can donate less than 10% of the cost to a cause they temporarily adopt.
But here I am bitching on a website instead of doing something useful, so, whatever...
Auburn tenn starting to get interesting?....
Has anyone heard that green is looking to transfer?? Saw some mention of it on a twitter page....he looking at Texas or Ole Miss..... What the hell is going on with this team?!?!?
An Ace Williams sock puppet?
No no....no sock
I want to punch her in the throat.
You want to punch "him."
I feel like their Off strengths match up with Michigan's Def strengths. I'm worried about two things. 1. It's in Iowa City and 2. C.J. Fedorowiscz(sp).
How's that for a subject line?
Anyway, Minny just picked up a 4th down on a pass as the RB, Cobb slid from the left ot the right to pick up someone rushing through a gap. Glenn said that it took 2 years for Cobb to learn his protection responsibilities.
Update: Minnesota scores a TD on the drive to put it 17-7, 9 minutes left in the 2nd Q.
Yeah I heard that too. Hopefully it takes Green a little less time since he was considered one of if not the best backs in the class.
Umm, not Terry Glenn. Wrong Buckeye receiver. Its Joey Galloway.
144 minutes of game time since last TD; had their first redzone possession since Sept. 28th
Vandy up 10-0 over Florida
Beginning of the second quarter, FSU is only beating Wake Forest 35-0.
My favorite sign at Gameday in Tuscaloosa was "We want Ball State".
Awesome INT by Minny about to be called back by an offsides on the D
Hard count and throw the go route. Mealer and DG were amazing at that last year. Glasgow isn't nearly as aware of that detail
That's where the inexperience at OL is hurting us.
wiped away by an offsides call; Penn State is already down 17-7, that was a big penalty to keep the drive alive...
Vandy now up 17-0 with 9min left in the 1st half.
...how I can watch the Michigan game from last night?
Game is being replayed on the big ten network...Monday night I believe.
Monday night replay. I just verified that it's on my DVR schedule since I was 100% sure it was going to be on BTN last night. Boy, was I pissed to find out otherwise.
App State giving Georgia a good game, UGA up 7-6, App State just got an INT. UGA homecoming to boot.
Appalachian State is due.
EDIT: Just noticed App State is 2-7 on the year! I guess it's not a matter of them being a very good FCS team but more so that UGA is just playing crappier than normal.
Just watched Minny give a blitz look and PSU audible a new play and then Minny drop out of the blitz look after the audible. Fake blitz or not, I wish we did that more often.
Eastern scores on the opening drive.
Really like Auburn's offensive playcalling. Solid.
Minny's hurry-up offense it way faster than ours. Just saying.
Maybe not better in terms of getting a score, but clock management sure is
Minny plays for the TD instead of the FG and gets it. 24-10.
Meh. Just an abrasion
Halftime on field interview of acting Minnesota Head Coach Tracy Claeys just made me more angry about the PSU game.
Interviewer - "Coach you're known as a running team, 241 yards through the air, why has the passing come alive today?"
Claeys - "Ya know they've crowded the box...........
I didn't see or hear this. But now I am pissed again. Thanks for this
I was thinking the same thing. I want to be able to let that go, but I just can't.
Add them to the list of coaching staffs that are more intelligent and/or less stubborn than ours, eh?
Tenn has no defense
The funny thing is that they still need to give up another 280 yards or so to reach their average in yards allowed, but if there is an SEC team that can manage to stay above average in a bad way lately, it might be Tennessee.
TT getting housed. Haven't seen any of it. Difference there?
Gators currently down 17-3 to Vandy...
has anyone noticed what I've noticed in this photo?
Probably helps us a bit that Florida is getting clubbed by Vanderbilt 17-3
I hope we play Florida in a bowl game. Whoever draws them will get a win.
They still need a win. Either today, @ South Carolina or Florida State...
Auburn is a totally different program with Gus in charge.
I would say I hope they beat UGA, but all that will do is have all the sports stations go "THIS REMINDS OF THAT TIME THEY BEAT MICHIGAN. RIGHT AL? LETS WATCH THOSE HIGHLIGHTS AGAIN"
Would M ever do the American flag M on a helmet?
Why mess with the best uniform in sports?
I'm not saying they should. But clearly a lot of teams do it at some point. I'm of the same opinion as you, however we do use matte helmets and gray face masks and numbers on helmets for no reason as well
Is Beth Mowins sporting a red leather coat?
I haven't seen her but I hope so.
I wonder if PSU will just go max protect and start flinging it deep. I don't think it will matter as long as Minny doesn't let off the gas and go into Lloyd mode.
I think about this every week but offensive P.I. really needs to be called more often. Also, Minny just kicked the most perfect punt in the world.
BOB bitches about everything
For everyone who wants Hoke to get more "animated" on the sideline, I hope you all just saw how feaking stupid BoB looked just then...AND he was wearing a headset.
"I want to talk to him over there!!"
Will someone please inform me how to post a gif on the board? I know how to post an image but not a gif.
I end up with a still image. I load the gif to flickr and pull the code from there.
just open it in a new window and copy that link, then paste that into the image URL box of your post.
I've got a flickr account too, but they've changed the site so many times I can't remember where their code is. I guess you could open your own flickr gif ina new window & do the same thing.
TD Iowa. Now up by two scores. Anything can happen but I doubt Purdue makes a comeback.
Remember the ABC announcer who called the Mich/Minny game who spent the entire three hours slobbering and lusting over the Gophers QB? In the second half, he pretty much had an orgasm every time the guy completed a 5 yard pass. Every game since Minnesota lost to us must be pure porn for him.
Minnesota's running back just topped 100 yards on the ground against PSU.
Penn State backed up at their own 2 yard line after being nowhere near the ball on that punt. Interestingly, getting 98 yards on this drive would actually increase their total offensive yards by about 40% or so - rough figuring there. What is strange is that they are moving the ball better than they normally do, just not getting much out of it - something like 0.27 points per play or so.
Spencer Hall (@edsbs) is now just tweeting out the first chapter from Blood Meridian.
Will Muschamp is going to kill him.
Such a freaking good book.
Very happy for Minnesota. Looking forward to our game coming up soon. Please come out ready to play and try to forget about last week. One game at a time let's take this one.
Robinson begs for PI on every call.
Vanderbilt answers. 31-10
Our best win B1G win is now Minny?
How in the name of all that is good and holy did we lose to psu...
...how did we beat Minnesota?
Can't wait for all the "Kill in improved his program ervery year...so why can't Hoke" whining to be redoubled.
Took the words right out of my mouth haha.
Missing two starters today and still destroying PSU front...bad
Minnesota is a juggernaut. Best win of the year for us.
1) we caught them at the right time
2) so that's what it looks like to put Penn St. away
Minny just keeps winning
I'm paraphrasing, but he said "we wanted to put a lot of pressure on the young QB and force him into bad decisions...that was our game plan". Uggggghhhhh. Sure would like to have that final defensive stand in regulation at Penn St. back again. MOAR PRESSURE, PLEASE.
Hey, I've got an idea . . . let's try that against Nebraska. They've got a young QB.
It's not too late.
Gophers now 8-2. With games coming up against Wisconsin (home field advantage in a rivalry game) and Michigan State, Minnesota might do some real damage.
If MSU pulls a sparty no the next two weeks (possible, since they play in Lincoln and Evanston, I believe), the Gophers would win the division.
Let's just husk this fucking corn
Kill is in his 3rd year, but had a loaded cupboard
If you're trying to take a shot at Hoke, you might want to remember that Kill is 0-3 against Michigan, losing by a combined score of 135-26.
We beat them by 30
just end this game. Youre up 56. Dont overlap my Michigan game
