Pulling for Minny
November 9th, 2013 at 12:22 PM ^
goes for it and QB gets sacked. Ferentz vows to never go for it again.

Iowa's allergies at the 30 yard line could hurt Boilerquest... if Purdue can ever score.
November 9th, 2013 at 12:32 PM ^
Wait, is the quest for them to get a win or to go winless?
November 9th, 2013 at 12:25 PM ^
Sweet 4th down call for Minny there. That was open for us all game vs PSU too.
November 9th, 2013 at 12:27 PM ^
Sigh...another team handling PSU.
November 9th, 2013 at 12:30 PM ^
That win against the Gophers is looking better and better. When did Minnesota get so good?
November 9th, 2013 at 1:33 PM ^
Oh probably about the time they hired a coach with a track record of building successful teams and then stuck with him instead of firing him in favor of a middling coach with a career losing record. #f'ingmichiganmannepotism

and made them winners, right?
If you are going to be so ignorant about college football you should not post on a board where it is discussed.
Ball State was far worse than anything RR took on. Like in EMU-bad. If you followed MACtion you'd know this.

November 9th, 2013 at 12:31 PM ^
Good sign for Boilerquest

Oh? It's an awareness campaign and 10% of school proceeds on merchandise sales go to a charity while the athletic dept builds $15 million tennis complexes and tutoring centers and ADs have staffs of dozens with total staff salaries in the millions? Ok.
November 9th, 2013 at 12:58 PM ^
Of course it's basically another way to get you to part with your money. But we have to acknowledge that 1) sports are very important to the average student's college experience and are important to university fundraising and 2) they are very, very costly to run. Fans demand good results, and those usually mean expensive coaching staffs and facilities. Paying tuition for all these guys isn't cheap either.
Most athletic departments actually lose money. If they do make money, it gets flowed back into the athletic programs. It's not like there are shareholders raking in dividends.

Football is self-sustaining. These other sports are not.
Dave Brandon knows that which is why he milking UM football for every dollar. It isn't for the football team, but every other sport save for hockey and men's basketball.

Theses schools get over $20,000,000 from the big ten network alone and they have to come up with desperate, shameful, gimmicks like this to get someone to buy a jersey so they can donate less than 10% of the cost to a cause they temporarily adopt.
But here I am bitching on a website instead of doing something useful, so, whatever...

How's that for a subject line?
Anyway, Minny just picked up a 4th down on a pass as the RB, Cobb slid from the left ot the right to pick up someone rushing through a gap. Glenn said that it took 2 years for Cobb to learn his protection responsibilities.
Update: Minnesota scores a TD on the drive to put it 17-7, 9 minutes left in the 2nd Q.

Umm, not Terry Glenn. Wrong Buckeye receiver. Its Joey Galloway.
November 9th, 2013 at 12:56 PM ^
Thanks for the check. I wonder what Urban would have reported Joey's 40.
November 9th, 2013 at 12:52 PM ^
144 minutes of game time since last TD; had their first redzone possession since Sept. 28th

Vandy up 10-0 over Florida
November 9th, 2013 at 12:56 PM ^
Beginning of the second quarter, FSU is only beating Wake Forest 35-0.

Awesome INT by Minny about to be called back by an offsides on the D
November 9th, 2013 at 1:06 PM ^
Hard count and throw the go route. Mealer and DG were amazing at that last year. Glasgow isn't nearly as aware of that detail
November 9th, 2013 at 1:32 PM ^
November 9th, 2013 at 1:05 PM ^
wiped away by an offsides call; Penn State is already down 17-7, that was a big penalty to keep the drive alive...
November 9th, 2013 at 1:06 PM ^
Vandy now up 17-0 with 9min left in the 1st half.

Monday night replay. I just verified that it's on my DVR schedule since I was 100% sure it was going to be on BTN last night. Boy, was I pissed to find out otherwise.

App State giving Georgia a good game, UGA up 7-6, App State just got an INT. UGA homecoming to boot.
November 9th, 2013 at 1:13 PM ^
November 9th, 2013 at 1:29 PM ^
EDIT: Just noticed App State is 2-7 on the year! I guess it's not a matter of them being a very good FCS team but more so that UGA is just playing crappier than normal.
November 9th, 2013 at 1:11 PM ^
Just watched Minny give a blitz look and PSU audible a new play and then Minny drop out of the blitz look after the audible. Fake blitz or not, I wish we did that more often.
November 9th, 2013 at 1:11 PM ^
I realize Hazell doesn't have much to work with, but Purdue shouldn't be as bad as they are.
