noon games open thread
The noon slate isn't too great, but football is football. I suppose I will be watching the Northwestern/Iowa game.

Frustrating that you know Mark will be back when we play Northwestern and suddenly that offense will be terrifying again.
October 26th, 2013 at 1:15 PM ^
Didn't he play last week against Minnesota?
October 26th, 2013 at 1:28 PM ^
Mark hasn't made his mark this season.
October 26th, 2013 at 1:13 PM ^
HUSKERS NOOOOOOOOOOOO!

They deserve no help. They already got help in the form of that crappy spot to bail them out against NW.

Abdullah back in, promptly fumbles, Minny 1st down at the NE 16 now.

They are doing nothing they didn't do versus UM. If Michigan and Minny played again the result would still be the same. Nebraska is a flaky team. Hence, the current score.
October 26th, 2013 at 1:16 PM ^
Wow, Nebraska's D is just terrible.
Also, Miami (YTM) currently choking at home, down 14-10 to Wake Forest going into the half.

October 26th, 2013 at 1:17 PM ^
Nebraska's defense is just getting abused right now by Minnesota. Looking like 3 scores on 5 drives.
October 26th, 2013 at 1:20 PM ^
Come on Minnesota! Have to have a TD there.
October 26th, 2013 at 1:20 PM ^
Nebraska in the first half has given up more points to Minnesota than Michigan did all game.
October 26th, 2013 at 1:20 PM ^
It is important to note at this point that Nebraska has given up 221 yards so far in the half to Minnesota and they've managed to give it up at nearly a 7 yards per snap clip. Hard to believe they were just talking about a sole defender being misaligned.
October 26th, 2013 at 1:21 PM ^
I'd love to see NE go down. They thought their shit was floral after beating a Denardless M team at home, at night last year. Screw the Huskers right now.
October 26th, 2013 at 1:46 PM ^
I have a feeling we will put another serious beating on Nebraska this year.
October 26th, 2013 at 1:21 PM ^
UConn hanging around with UCF. Do you believe!?!
October 26th, 2013 at 1:26 PM ^
31-10 Knights
October 26th, 2013 at 1:22 PM ^
Minnesota should be ready for that pitch by now. Cmon Gophers.
October 26th, 2013 at 1:23 PM ^
Martinez really does arm punt some passes. It looks almost painful for him at times.
October 26th, 2013 at 1:24 PM ^
here for Minny. Of course 4 down territory for the Huskers.
October 26th, 2013 at 1:25 PM ^
NOOOOOOOOO
October 26th, 2013 at 1:26 PM ^
this "road to Indianapolis" jazz that was going on yesterday, and how it was going to be damn near impossible for Michigan to get there... how does that change if Minny beats Nebraska?
October 26th, 2013 at 1:27 PM ^
Im pretty confident if Michigan can beat State next week.
October 26th, 2013 at 1:28 PM ^
But we really need to beat them and State. And we need State to drop a game.
October 26th, 2013 at 1:31 PM ^
If we win out, we don't need any help.
October 26th, 2013 at 1:40 PM ^
Also, if we beat State and Nebraska, and each of them drops an additional game, we can lose to Ohio State and still advance to Indy.
October 26th, 2013 at 1:45 PM ^
October 26th, 2013 at 1:31 PM ^
State plays Michigan, Nebraska, and NW in succession, Nebraska and NW being on the road for Sparty. If NW gets Colter and Mark back by then, they can very well win that game.
October 26th, 2013 at 1:34 PM ^
Colter is playing today.
October 26th, 2013 at 1:39 PM ^
Good call, I stand corrected. However, they need both guys to be as dynamic of an offense as they can be.
October 26th, 2013 at 2:00 PM ^
Mark's presence keeps D's from keying on Coulter, and vise-versa.

hard to recall a year when the Big Ten was so unpredictable from week to week. I suspect it only underscores how poor Nebraska has been this year.
October 26th, 2013 at 1:45 PM ^
Or how mediocre every team is in this conference.
October 26th, 2013 at 1:41 PM ^
Yeah we could still lose to OSU, but our two losses would be cross-divisional losses. Take care of business next week, and we've got a great shot to make it to Indy.
October 26th, 2013 at 1:43 PM ^
People shouldn't assume a loss to Ohio. They've been scraping by the skin of their teeth since conference play started. They're not that good. I don't know if we can beat them two weeks straight (thanks, B1G) but I do think we can in Ann Arbor.
October 26th, 2013 at 1:54 PM ^
But I agree. Judging by how closely OSU has been skating by in the last few games, their luck is bound to run out soon enough. I think it ending in Ann Arbor is a legitimate possibility. We'll have to be on top of our game, but we're a different team at home, and there's no way Hoke won't have his boys ready come Nov. 30th.
October 26th, 2013 at 2:13 PM ^
Because it's our conference record that determines whether we get into the Big Ten Championship game.
If we are 5-0 in division, lose to Ohio State, and Michigan State only loses to us, they would play in Indy because they would have 1 B1G loss (to us) while we would have two (Penn State, Ohio State.

October 26th, 2013 at 2:52 PM ^
But that's how it works.
October 26th, 2013 at 4:02 PM ^
Its really not that weird at all, its how every division based system works. Look at the NFL, NHL, MLB, NBA, any sport really....if there is a division based playoff spot it is acheived based on your overall record not your record against your division.
October 26th, 2013 at 1:46 PM ^
UM has a chance versus OSU at home for sure. UM has a chance for a loss at Iowa also for sure. Iowa is playing people tough - makes MSU's win there quite impressive.
