I think Penn State's defense will give the NW offense trouble. They've played some pretty bad teams in BCS conferences. Air Force will win by more than the spread, and Indiana will keep the game respectable until MSU finally gets IU's unedited tapes at half, make adjustments and breaks out the run game.
October 6th, 2012 at 11:46 AM ^
That Arkansas-Auburn game was so much more interesting before the season started.

IU keeps it close until the MSU players gouge out the eyes of every Hoosier player. After that, MSU unleashes its potent offense for 4 FG's, while the Spartan defense stifles the Hoosiers with 2 safeties, and 2 pick 6's, causing the media to gush over the ability of Tom Gholston to blow up plays against recently blinded players.

Any suggestions for best sites for streaming live football?

Read the OP carefully.

Touché
October 6th, 2012 at 11:51 AM ^
After listening to Penn State fans during the Sandusky drama this past year, I've enjoyed rooting against them. But a PSU win would benefit us.
October 6th, 2012 at 12:22 PM ^
On the other hand, I kinda want to see Northwestern do well. It's been a while for them.

Herbie and Corso pick Purdue
October 6th, 2012 at 11:57 AM ^
Was I the only person that felt nothing when Corso and Herbstreit picked Purdue? Herbstreit has a crazy theory to defend regarding the Big Ten, and Corso clearly chose Purdue because, in his inner monologue, la de da la de la la de da de do fum fum.
October 6th, 2012 at 12:02 PM ^
I've been reading/listening/watching all week about how Purdue is going to win. I don't fricken see it. I think we win comfortably by 10-24 points. Purdue's offense doesn't scare me at all. I've been hearing about how great there defense is, has anyone looked at the box scores of all their games? They're overrated.
October 6th, 2012 at 11:58 AM ^
Corso and Herbstreit made me nervous when they both picked Purdue to win today. I really don't know what to think about the M game. Both games on the road this year have been terrible thus far, so I guess that is why I'm nervous today. If M loses, it's going to be another long year.

this is a huge game for msu, playing their major rival! lets see how they handle the pressure of the moment.

Not off to a good start.
October 6th, 2012 at 12:05 PM ^
That looked way too easy for IU...
October 6th, 2012 at 12:07 PM ^
How did they score? I missed it.
October 6th, 2012 at 12:09 PM ^
They had a 35 yard Post route pass to get them near the red zone, and they capped the drive with an easy 19 yard screen pass to the right. They made the whole drive look effortless.
October 6th, 2012 at 12:05 PM ^
Go IU.
October 6th, 2012 at 12:06 PM ^
Can Staee score more than 7?
October 6th, 2012 at 12:09 PM ^
Already down 3 field goals. The pressure will be on their kicker for sure.
October 6th, 2012 at 12:07 PM ^
Indiana is gonna score more than just the opening drive, too. Maxwell was starting to throw better the last few games, but I'm actually thinking its possible for Indiana to outscore Sparty at home today. It'll come down to how Sparty can run today.
October 6th, 2012 at 12:10 PM ^
Because Penn State's Ficken troubles continue (he's 2-8 on FGs), they were going to try for it on 4th and 9, but a little pre-snap shenanigans make it 4th and 14 and they decide instead to punt (come on, Bill, you can make that!). Naturally, Northwestern gets it from about the 1 yard line.
October 6th, 2012 at 12:10 PM ^
Well, my HD feed of BTN has been without sound for the past 20 minutes. I don't know if that's a good thing or a bad thing. Better be fixed by the Michigan game though.
October 6th, 2012 at 12:13 PM ^
which cable provider?
October 6th, 2012 at 12:13 PM ^
I am LOLing at Sparty. Allowed a quick TD and then they went three and out.
THEY'RE ALL GAY ON THAT TEAM.
October 6th, 2012 at 12:14 PM ^
Indiana against MSU. Just think that MSU's confidence is fragile. Also see that IU is up seven.
Isn't this their big cross-sectional rivalry game? Be great if IU could make that a little more real.
October 6th, 2012 at 12:17 PM ^
Nice opening salvo by Indiana.
October 6th, 2012 at 12:19 PM ^
Boy, 2 years ago Arkansas v Auburn would've been a good game. Now it's a step above a mutual dumpster fire.
October 6th, 2012 at 12:21 PM ^
This MSU offense is amazing.
October 6th, 2012 at 12:21 PM ^
MSU will wake up eventually but in the meantime, this is fun.
October 6th, 2012 at 12:22 PM ^
Dantonio the dean of discipline. LMAO!
October 6th, 2012 at 12:23 PM ^
This, apparently, is Mork according to Chris Martin.
October 6th, 2012 at 12:23 PM ^
BTN announcer refers to Dantonio as "the Dean of Discipline". Truer words have never been spoken.
October 6th, 2012 at 12:23 PM ^
Wow, Spartiocrity is beginning much sooner than I anticipated.
October 6th, 2012 at 12:24 PM ^
This is why BTN needs to hire Millen. Match made in heaven.
October 6th, 2012 at 12:26 PM ^
About 14-15 plays, mainly short passes to set up the run, run, get first down, drop pass near end zone, bring on FG unit, end with an FG which Sam Ficken mircaulously makes. Apparent elapsed time of drive: 1 year.
3-0 Penn State.
October 6th, 2012 at 12:27 PM ^
Ficken nails a FG. Wonder if brunettes helped him.
October 6th, 2012 at 12:27 PM ^
I was expecting the cheap late hits by Dantonio's players in this game but not this early.
October 6th, 2012 at 12:32 PM ^
Sitting at the game, and yeah it's pathetic. They got down fast and automatically resorted to cheap shots. GO FIGURE.
October 6th, 2012 at 12:44 PM ^
Well, there you have it. Cheap shot on the punter. Nice, Sparty.
October 6th, 2012 at 12:28 PM ^
MSU is looking really good.
October 6th, 2012 at 12:29 PM ^
Couches are cringing all over E. Lansing!
October 6th, 2012 at 12:31 PM ^
Wait, hang on. Sparty lost to Indiana 4 years ago? Indiana has beaten MSU more recently than we have?
October 6th, 2012 at 12:36 PM ^
That's exactly what I thought too when they flashed that stat. I was like "Well dang."
October 6th, 2012 at 12:42 PM ^
6 years ago, Sparty lost to Indiana 46-21.
And in 2001, the week after Spartan Bob screwed us over, Indiana beat Sparty in East Lansing 37-28.
October 6th, 2012 at 12:31 PM ^
Dantonio is the Dean of Assholes
October 6th, 2012 at 12:32 PM ^
Lol Indiana
October 6th, 2012 at 12:33 PM ^
The overriding message from the Big Ten commercial on ESPN is that, when backlight, Danny Hope's mustache looks much more evil.
We return to the game, with McGloin completing a 7-yard dart, to...yes...set up the run, which Northwestern stuffs short of the 1st down marker. 3rd and 1.
October 6th, 2012 at 12:35 PM ^
MSU playing very disciplined football right now.
October 6th, 2012 at 12:35 PM ^
Sparty's holding like crazy. Eventually they're gonna have to start calling that.
