The all-time record for penalty yards by a team in an FBS game is 238. (On only 13 penalties--I'm not sure how that happened.)

State has a chance to break it if they don't lose their discipline in the second half.

I don't doubt that at all. It's just that I think Indiana will have about 15 Hoosiers No! moments in the fourth quarter. If they don't, then either they're better than I thought they'd be, or MSU is sort of a train wreck right now. Or a little of both.

Although I would tend to agree, as you said, this is Indiana fergodsake.  What I am impressed with thus far, is the way that IU's defense is handling the screen game to Bell that MSU is trying hard to get going.  Seems like every time they try it, an IU defender is right there to hit Bell instantly -- that is good coaching/preparation.  At the same time, that just goes to show how anemic MSU's offense is as that is pretty much all that they have, and IU knows it.

If MSU's defense cannot stop IU's offense, I don't see MSU offense being able to bring them back.

We'll see.

I watched Indiana handle UMASS and nearly come back against Northwestern. This team and their offense is not to be overlooked and clearly Sparty thought this would be a cupcake. To Indiana credit, most of the spartan defenders got injured and now IU can attack their secondary.

Looks like the lost last week has them still down. If they don't win this game their B1G title hopes are over.

Go backwards after recovering a muffed punt at the ARK 40. Sacked on third down. Missed a wide open receiver on first down. This is after putting in the backup QB to spark the offense. He's just throwing gas on the tire fire.

It took the Spartans nearly five minutes to get three points. If they can keep up that pace (and Indiana can keep playing at least serviceable defense) and Indiana scores at least one more time, MSU loses, I would say.

I really haven't watched a ton of Maxwell this season, but when he sets he looks like he has a pretty decent arm. Is it decision-making? Receivers? I just keep hearing how awful he is and his numbers don't look great either, but the limited throws I've seen he looks alright.
