Hoke taking the not saying Ohio thing to a whole new level.

Rivalries are more fun the deeper they go. And when Michigan would rather ask Oregon State to use jerseys for the spring game rather than have their quarterbacks wear red, because that is the color of Ohio State, that's exactly what we're talking about.

Interestingly enough Oregon St. is a Nike school, you can see the Adidas patch job.

Of course. It's unique and I collect numerous types historical memorabilia of Michigan Football. Programs, jerseys, pennants, pictures etc. My kids or grandkids someday may see and wonder why in the hell was Michigan wearing orange.

I'm with you on this one.  It shouldn't be too fucking hard to tell the Adidas guy on campus to order a orange jersey that says Michigan on it.  Adidas is a joke of a company and I hope we can coax a somewhat comparable contract from another company is the near future.

Please read thread before posting.

We've used maize "no contact jerseys" with white pants in the past. However, Hoke didn't like no contact jerseys at all. So he took them all away and made QBs wear what everyone else wears.

My questions isn't regarding the jerseys...it's are we now wearing them because Bellomy got blasted by someone when he shouldn't have.

The timing is the same, we don't wear no contact until he gets hurt...is this now the reason? That said, Adidas has to make the jerseys so in the meantime it looks like Faulk just had his buddy at Oregon St. next day ship a couple jerseys. No big deal.

I'm sure when our no-contact jerseys get here and we see them in the fall there will be a bunch of "OMG MAIZE ALTERNATES FOR ND!" threads that will drive us crazy.

Can't Adidas just make a few orange jerseys on their own?  Are they still too busy trying to get caught up on the basketball jerseys that were damaged in the Minnesota bball game?

Well, that's hardly true.  A lot more of the elite basketball teams are Adidas (both teams in the final, plus Indiana, UCLA and a bunch of others) but not as many of the football powers yet.  Are any major SEC teams with Adidas outside of Tennessee?  Anyway, Nike still has OSU, Alabama, Florida, USC, Texas, Oklahoma, FSU and a bunch of others (and obviously Oregon).  Adidas's top group is us, ND...and then I guess the Nebraska, Tennessee, UCLA, Wisconsin tier.

Wait, what?!?! Orange doesn't have NEARLY the contrast with blue or white that red does! Teams use red for a reason! What if one of our defensive guys isn't deterred by this color and lays out Devin?! Oh shit, oh shit, oh shit!!!

They make it sound like Michigan already had hundreds of red no contact jerseys laying around but decided they would rather wear orange jerseys from Oregon State. This very well may be true but there is no real evidence to support this hypothesis. The only real information contained in the article is that Qbs weren't wearing no contact jerseys. They decided they probably should start, they ordered them, but for now they are using jerseys from a connection in Oregon State. Ohio State has nothing to do with that narrative. That's the same as arguing that they got jerseys from a PAC-12 school because they didn't want to ask any other B1G school for help out of spite.

Am I wrong to think that it may just piss Nike off that we are wearing their jerseys with a glued/sewn on Adidas logo? I'd be more pissed if I were Adidas and had everyone talking about how they can't fill a jersey order for Michigan fergodsakes.

i would wonder why the fuck a company as big as adidas doesnt have the capability to produce 1 jersey of any color in the damn world for a client like Michigan.
