No Vlad Emilien

Was anyone else wondering why Kovacs was in? Seems odd given the Spring buzz about Vlad, especially since he's Mike Williams back up at Strong Safety. No matter since we won, just concerned about the future

Good point..it was odd to see Kovacs in there...but in his defense he played deep and held his responsiblity well though not directly tested. I hope Williams makes it back. I like our safetys much better this year, than last year.

WTKA host Sam Webb mentioned that Emilien showed all the physical tools but was still sort of playing like a freshman, so maybe he's not quite ready yet. I don't think he's played yet... Kovacs? Oh... I was wondering who the white kid in the secondary was.... lol

Didn't Vlad blow out his knee only a year ago ? For it usually takes two full years to return to full strength/effectiveness. Maybe he is being held out for this reason.

I thought they could have gotten some playing time at the end of last week's game, sort of like Will Campbell, but that didn't happen. If our secondary can survive injuries, does anybody think we can get by the whole season with the guys we've seen play so far?

It was Kovacs. The only play that I saw Van Slyke in there was the last play when they had their prevent package in. I'm hoping we see Vlad and Turner in the next couple of games. It scares me to death having walk-ons in there when there are athletic, albeit, young players available.

Vlad is listed as Williams backup and Van Slyke then Kovacs as Woolfolk backup. But Kovacs was the one to replace Williams. RR said in one of his many camp pressers that Kovacs was coming on late. I thought he played well, but I'm not really qualified to analyze his performance. Anyway, he's a great story. A school walk-on. Son of a former M player from the early 80s. Tried to walk-on last year, but was injured and told to come back this year. We can win with him. Obviously.

Not sure how the rotation/ depth chart is set at the moment, but apparently Kovacs was backing up Williams, as Woolfolk was still playing. Didn't hear what the injury was but he was taken to the locker room, not a good thing.
