No Surprise: Morris named Elite 11 top performer by 247

Submitted by drewro02 on

Pretty obvious that Shane would be named top performer condidering he won camp MVP, but this gives a little more on his and the others' performances. I found it a little odd that Zaire was listed so far down considering Tom VH and others were tweeting that Zaire was nippin at Shane's heels for most of the day. The article also mentions that this was the best group of talent at any Elite 11 regionals yet, so congrats to Shane for getting through against this group.

1. Shane Morris, Warren (Mich.) De La Salle – Good luck trying to pin a fear of competing on Shane Morris. Despite his lofty ranking and his early commitment to Michigan, Morris is at seemingly every event he can get to, eager to prove himself. On Friday he did just. He can put loads of velocity on the ball without digging deep, he showed great accuracy throughout the day and he has a smooth and natural composure in the pocket. Morris’ performance earned him an invite to the Elite 11 finals this summer.

After 5 years of reading mgoblog I have come to conclude you are the head of the mgoboard police... It's as if you're standing around in your computer refreshing the page every 5 minutes waiting for someone to repost something and then you pounce like a starving hyena.

There is a committee of 7 Nominators, serving on staggered 2-year terms. They come together and select a group of 15 Moderators, who work in 8-hour shifts of five Moderators each. They gather in a secure sub-basement beneath Angell Hall. Every new post is read and compared against ten standards of quality, ranging from grammar and syntax to humor and proper use of MGoMemes. The five moderators then vote on the score, ranging from -1 to 5. The high and low score are removed, and the remaining three scores are averaged (and rounded to the nearest whole number).

Anyone displeased with the score his post receives may appeal to the Appellate Board, which consists of three of the Nominators who review the scores. They apply an Abuse of Discretion standard of review, and only overturn scores if they are clearly erroneous. If they overturn the score, the post is then returned to a different panel of Moderators for a fresh review.

Hope that clears things up.

You care an awful lot about blog etiquette. It's like you're waiting with your "already posted" links and snark memes ready to pounce on the most benign denizen. Haha.
