No QB to Only QB

Submitted by Hail-Storm on

So I have ventured out of my MGoBlog bubble into the internet masses to laugh at how people are responding to Michigan's success.  Before the season, it was hard to get by without hearing the MSM rant about RR's job security, his lack of fit, and how he just isn't getting the right players for Michigan.  For the last two weeks, the MSM has done what they do best, and totally switched their position on him, talking about how this is what his system is supposed to look like with his players.  They are suddenly acting like they knew all along that he could coach, and this was going to happen.  Again, par for the course.

Then there are the haters gonna hate crowd, who, before the season began, told us UConn was a quality team with a lot of experience coming back that we couldn't handle, and that ND was obviously to good with their passing and genious coach (our's obviously can't coach) before the season.  We would lose these games because our secondary sucked, and we didn't even have a QB.  I mean obviously, a team with two (three) QB's means we have none. Anyone who attended the spring game and made the tried to reason with them that we don't have two QB's cause they are bad, we have two QB's cause the others are good were easily laughed off as homers.

Two weeks later, and the haters do what they do best, and tell us UConn was no good, and ND obviously isn't either, and we have to wait some more to see if they really are that good, which is pretty standard for opposing fans arguments to our success. The funniest part, to me, is the response to DR's success.  Before the season- "You have no QB" now- "QB is all we have". This, despite the fact that there is ample evidence of the improved O-line play, the improved downfeild blocking, route running, and catching, and the monster blocking coming out of the backfield.

I know there's no use in reasoning with these folks. I don't bother to set up ESPN or Detroit News accounts to bring reason. I don't call into the radio shows expecting that they allow me to get on air.  So I sit back and laugh, and come back home here to my bubble. As has been posted before... Haters gonna Hate

Wow, no offense to you but this has been a slow day. I have read so many threads and posts on the same topic (haters gonna hate) that I seriously cannot wait for Saturday again.

That's opposing fans for ya. Get over it and move on. We know what we have and how we are going to do (at least are more reasonable than other fans).

if you spend all day on here, every day, and read every thread, isn't there a good chance that you are going to see some repeat ideas?

I remember in psychology that one of the lessons was that, despite what we think, the majority of our ideas are going to be the same and pretty unoriginal. I come on here quite a bit (more than I should) because there is some of the best analysis and breakdowns that I have ever seen anywhere.  And these are a lot of original unique articles in how to understand Michigan football in general, however, these posts are usually posted in the diaries and on the front page.

By creating this small piece for the forum board, I created a piece that I knew was not a totally original idea, however, I took my own take on it, and provided at least a little value add.  I also posted it knowing that I wasn't pushing anything else that groun breaking off of the board, since most of what's on the forum's isn't anything that is that ground breaking.

So that brings me to my next question. If you spend your whole day on MGoBlog, why do you complain when new points of view or topic discussions are brought up? It seems like people that are on here the most would want people to contribute, if nothing else, so they could complain about something being contributed.

I guess it's not just you, but I tend to see a lot of the members who are on a lot make this complaint over and over again.  Of course, I bet I'll get a TL;DR from someone.

I think Victors_Valients main point, and this is happening a lot around the board so please don't take this as aimed directly at you, is that a lot of people are taking valid, if not very original comments and stretching them into board posts, cluttering up the place (technical term there) and making it harder to find new posts or breaking news... which in turn leads to more repeats and old news posted.

It's hard to say where the line is in terms of original board post material, but it's fair to say that we're getting a lot of white noise on the boards these days and that can get frustrating.

Thank you sir. That is exactly my point.

It is not because I think your opinion sucks or is wrong (pointed at OP). But why not post that opinion in one of the 15 other threads about the same topic? I know you may have brought a few new points in your thread, but they could just as easily been brought up in others.

I am not trying to be an ass about you posting threads, but new topics that have yet to be discussed are more worthy being threads than ones that others are already discussing at the same point in time.

as is always the case.  The other point to make is that the seson has started, so predicitons / opinions are meaningless, all questions are answered on Saturdays.

If people hate us, it means we're obviously doing something good! Bring on the hate train, this team doesn't care, the coaches don't care, and us fans shouldn't care.

Welcome back.  We've missed you the last couple of years.  You'll find that a few things have changed, but I'm sure that you "had RR's back from the beginning."
