No M Hockey Players at World Jrs this year

Submitted by lhglrkwg on

Chris Brown got cut from the World Junior US squad on wednesday meaning no wolverines will be on the roster this year. I've only followed michigan hockey for 3 years now but apparently it's very rare for that to happen. maybe having our best guys back will help us get the 3-peat of the GLI. we could sure use the wins

it's the first time in 11 years this has happened.
It's good we'll have all of our players for GLI, but for some reason, I wish the streak had continued...

I have absolutely no good reasons. I guess I just don't appreciate the change? It feels kind of like a negative omen? More realistically and from a team standpoint, from what I recall, sometimes the guys that go come back better, sometimes they come back worse, so that's pretty much a wash. Sometimes somebody steps up to replace them at GLI , but I don't know if the stepping-up generally continues. Maybe just having someone on the US team competing internationally just brings back some perspective? I'm not sure, it just feels wrong. I agree that I'd rather have GLI titles then the WJC via proxy kind of but...

EDIT: Actually, thinking about it, if I'm right about 11 years, that means 1998. I'd be fine with a result of the first season in that year.
