Agreed! He turned around Ball St. for goodness sakes. That is no small feat. He is a great football coach, seems to be a good guy. The same people complaining about his sub .500 record are the ones who poo-pooed Rich's losing record, attributing it to the empty cupboard, etc. No cupboard was more empty than Ball St.  I'm sure if he's hired there will be people at the airport chanting "we don't want you" - just as there were when Chizik was hired.

I'm not saying he will/should be hired, but it is a solid hire if they go that route.

as much as Millen did the Lions.

I'm sorry, one good season does not constitute turning around a program.

I'm sorry, one good season does not constitute turning around a program.

In the case of a MAC program, it may be instructive to focus on the conference record, since MAC teams regularly play nothing but BCS-conference teams in September.  In conference play, Hoke posted three straight winning seasons before he left, and got them from finishing in the bottom of their division (in his second year) to a perfect season.  It evidently was good enough for SDSU to offer him.   He's since taken a formerly downtrodden SDSU program to a bowl, and their future seems bright.  I don't look forward to our game against them next year.

how what Hoke did in the MAC is any different to what RR was doing at Michigan, taking into account that theywere each playing against comperable talent, and also taking into account that Hoke was allowed 6 years to take Ball State to their break out season (the 8-0 does not include the pasting that Ball State took at the hands of Buffalo in the MAC championship game).

Are you saying that you will be willing to give him 6 years to get Michigan back to elite status in the B1G?

They were 6-4 in 1961 and 8-2-1 in 1962 so stronger than Ball State but still being 23 games over .500 is a lot different than being under.

who cares?  the leader of the lowest rung, thats who. and you can see how all the lemmings follow, here.

fact is, hoke is a great hire.  francesa even said so about an hour ago on the radio, that hoke would be a great success at michigan.

Lemme get this straight.........

You call other people lemmings, then you reference how, "Hoke is a great hire because some guy on the radio said so".

My friend, it's possible(probable) that you're too much of a simpleton to post here. Sorry.

If you are in Ann Arbor, I would vote for Pizza Man over Pizza Hut.  That place is/was fantastic.  Sadly, did not make it there during my pilgrimage for the Illinois game.

As long as it's ok for me to eat Jets. Damn, now I really might order pizza. I'm super hungry now. Thanks a lot guys! If I keep eating pizza I'll be fatter than Hoke [just getting you guys used to the fat jokes that will inevitably come our way, relax].

No martyr's uniform is complete without a whip for self-flaggellation.  Clearly the program / fanbase has a lot of repenting to do for some past transgressions (as seen by defensive back injuries, etc.) so lets get to work!

Daves best option is to send some dominos out to San Fran with please spelled out in pepperoni to Jimmy H. That should get the job done.

For all those people that hated Rich Rod maybe Brandon, himself, turns out to the athletic director version of Rich Rod.  That would be sweet justice to them if this fiasco spirals even more out of control than it is currently.
