I bet there will be a whole bunch of new points made too. Nothing similar to the past month, right?
January 1st, 2011 at 3:08 PM ^
need our support, as if me screaming at the TV at the top of my lungs and throwing random pieces of small furniture is going to make a difference. My only solice thus far. the other MSU is getting prison sexed at the fifty yard line. ha take that sparty

That's a ridiculous request! Why would you think it's acceptable to discuss a potential coaching change for the Michigan Wolverines football team after their bowl game? Do you think thats what message boards are for?
There should be no posts on this Michigan Blog regarding the overwhelming possibility of a coaching change. We will ignore it.
January 1st, 2011 at 3:13 PM ^
1. None of you Nancy's have a unique thought about the situation... Whatever you are thinking about posting, we have seen it.
2. We will likely know if there will be a change in just a couple of days. Then you can discuss it to your hearts content. But at this point, it's speculation, and it's played out.
January 1st, 2011 at 3:18 PM ^
So what? It's a freaking message board what do you think is going to be posted? If you don't want to talk about it then don't comment, but so long as people are debating it (which is fine) the talk will continue on the boards.
January 1st, 2011 at 3:40 PM ^
So there is no point in cluttering the board with something that has been debated to death.
So there is no point in starting CC threads when it is known that there are pretty strong feelings on both sides.
So there is no point in talking about a new coach when RR is still the head coach.
So there is no poiint in speculating about something when a decision will be made in less than 1 fucking week.
If you are too weak willed to handle something so simple, go back to MLive or, better yet, go check to see if anyone commented on your "Fire RR - LOL" Facebook group.
January 1st, 2011 at 3:48 PM ^
What the hell else are you going to "clutter the board" with? "OT- What kind of beer are you drinking tonight? LOL"
And how is there no point in speculating when the decision is in a week... Do you get upset when people speculate about the presidential election one week before the actual election? My God is that an awful argument. When the decision is near is when you're supposed to speculate the most.
Bottom line, you're a joke dude. Quit trying to regulate mgoblog as if it belongs to you or something
January 1st, 2011 at 3:59 PM ^
You are apparently asking me how I expect you to be original. You have to figure that out on your own.
January 1st, 2011 at 4:04 PM ^
Good one.
I'll expect you to be calling into MSNBC and Fox News the week before the upcoming presidential election and going off on them for speculating and discussing a week before the decision is made.
Don't lose any sleep when Rodriguez gets fired next week.
January 1st, 2011 at 4:25 PM ^
by ignoring your first attempt at comparing the Michigan coaching situation and how it has been exhuastively discussed on this blog to the MSM and the presidential election.
It is a ridiculous comparison and I'm embarassed for you that you feel that it is your strongest argument against my point.
Bring something fresh to the board. If you can't, either visit one of the other 500 CC threads or stfu.
January 1st, 2011 at 5:35 PM ^
So there is no point in talking about a new coach when RR is still the head coach
He's not the head coach anymore. Whether the announcement comes today, tomorrow, or three days from now, it's just a formality at this point. Rich Rodriguez is going to be fired. You and some others need to come to grips with this.
January 1st, 2011 at 6:21 PM ^
If it happens, it happens....
Just don't need 100 more identical threads to those we've already seen between today and that point.

Whose to say that Denard would not do very well operating out of a more traditional offense?

There is literally no coach in America that would not give the Big Ten Offensive Player of the Year a chance to win back his position.

January 1st, 2011 at 3:12 PM ^
info he needs to evaluate the program, he has it now. The first half has been a microcosm of the whole season. Look good early, kinda hold on in the middle and then getting dominated in the end. The defense has not learned one thing during the bowl practices. They are still way out of position and still miss too many tackles.
I'm not trying to be a dick here, but with the equivalent of a spring practice season and basically nothing has improved on defense and the ofense looks about the same as well. I feel bad for RR, but he's a big boy and he understands the number one job of a football coach is to win and he's not doing it. He can't defend any statements about progress with the performance we're seeing today.
January 1st, 2011 at 3:14 PM ^
This is what most horrifies me -- our defense looks confused against a mediocre offense we have had a month to prepare for. Some of these are good football players and they are playing hard. It is criminal to subject them to this level of defensive coaching.
January 1st, 2011 at 5:17 PM ^
to prepare for."
BINGO!!! This to me is the most damning thing about today's miserable performance. MSU's offense isn't bad, but it isn't great. Ours is very good, yet somehow they were well prepared for us. What's the difference? Hmmmmm....
January 1st, 2011 at 4:02 PM ^
Put a fork in it. Good luck RR somewhere else.
January 1st, 2011 at 4:31 PM ^
The defensive futility isn't really surprising at this point. What bothers me is that this purportedly great offense (judged by FEI, yardage stats, etc.) is utterly incompetent. They aren't young anymore either. You're basically looking at guys on the cusp of being juniors, seniors, and 5th year seniors who can't be productive on a consistent basis. If Rodriguez can't excel at his core competency -- the spread offense -- what can he do well?
January 1st, 2011 at 5:35 PM ^
Maybe he was smarter than all of us clamoring for a decision. How would the affirmative to keep RR look right about now? Obviously, Gerg would be gone and is gone and should have been canned at mid season.
It would be hard to fault him for letting RR go at this point based on 'progress'.
The offense is not dangerous; too many pockets of inconsistency with either taco pant throws, little people fumbling or getting hurt, receivers dropping balls and freshman.
When the offense has been needed against good teams, it vaporizes with small people getting blown up.
Defense? Ugh.

Agreed. They need to fire every coach on defense and special teams and start over. My guess is that the whole staff gets axed.
January 1st, 2011 at 3:48 PM ^
That would be great if there WAS a special teams coach.
January 1st, 2011 at 5:03 PM ^
Supposedly, Tony Gibson is coaching the special teams.

I will be sick of CC talk when we finally have a change and I do not have to watch the worst d in school history followed by and O that gets a ton of yards but can't score in the red zone and turns the ball over all the time.
January 1st, 2011 at 4:23 PM ^
I suppose a person who has 21000 points would get tired of reading all of the CC talk and I can understand that. There are however others of us out there that actually have a life and can't sit in front of the computer all day long and just bitch about double posts. My suggestion to you is STOP CLICKNG THE F$#@ING LINKS THAT SAY "CC". check the top of the page, this is not aaamichfanblog,.com. It aint all about you.

careful fellas....david from wyoming is a moderator and gained all his points while our storied program has been destroyed these past three years, so he will neg you to oblivion. any semblance of an attempt to discuss actually saving it, will be penalized, for it is considered unpopular speech by the keepers of the points.

i doubt that. we MUST return to our dominance and hire someone who was at the apex of it (harbaugh).
January 1st, 2011 at 3:49 PM ^
Harbaugh is going to the NFL, where he can coach with out the alumni pressure and the fan bs having a dual input. Just my gut feeling, take it fwiw.

I agree Hoke has turned SDSU into a pretty solid team this year and they've been terrible for a long time. This whole "Hoke doesn't have enough of a resume" thing is snobbery and fear
IMO,
January 1st, 2011 at 5:46 PM ^
Unfortunately, Mr. Hoke doesn't have a masculine-enough-sounding first name like Lloyd or Gary or Bo. Now if his name were Brody instead of Brady, we'd be in business.
January 1st, 2011 at 3:41 PM ^
If David Brandon is really using this bowl game to evaluate RR, then he is the biggest fool in the country. In my opinion, the decision has been made.

Was made along time ago imo

what DB actually said was that after the bowl game he would evaluate the whole season.
