Similar situation here. I grew up in Marquette and went to tons of NMU games, but went to school at U-M. I'm always torn when these two play.

Radio announcers are not happy with how the game is being officiating. They think Northern is being cheap and getting away with it. Obviously I have no idea if true.

But from the sounds of it, the referees want this to turn into the Miami game a few years ago all over again.
They are calling this one-sided all the way, and its why I can't stand the CCHA. Northern has been taking cheap shots all night and they eject our GOALTENDER. These guys are just as big of clowns as always, and this is why I can't wait for B1G hockey. Probably only going to get worse since the Big Ten "started" the realignment and now they're going to lose their side jobs in a couple years.

Inexcusable officiating. They've lost control of the game, and the NMU players are laughing on the ice (literally), probably because they know the refs have given them a blank check to do whatever they want.

IIRC, Northern Michigan got real cheap during the CCHA Championships Game when we beat them two seasons ago. Just remember them taking cheap shots at the end of the game, ones that could seriously injure a player.

I remember that game well. Got what they deserved in the end though.
My experience with Northern fans is that they are the MSU of the UP. Maybe that's my MTU connections and the school colors talking (Plus Mel), but my experiences backs it up and so do the school rankings.
