"In response to CBSSports.com's request for Michigan's concussion management protocol, the athletic department sent the NCAA's 11-page document for treating head injuries."
NIT balks at Michigan (or, try not to react in the following way)
Surprising, Michigan is a good draw. It's not like they don't need the ratings.
meh. the NIT would've just extended the torture.
They didn't deserve it. I doubt if too many teams in the country shot any worse than we did over the entire season. You can make basketball as complicated as you want, but ultimately you have to be able to put the goddamn ball in the net. We've just sucked at that for three years, unfortunately for JB.
I thought you had to have a winning record to play in postseason play? Unless, of course, you receive an automatic bid.
Don't you have to be .500 to be considered for the NIT? Seems we probably balked at the NIT more than they balked at us...
The NIT used to have the above .500 rule, but it was recently abolished (not sure on the year). HOWEVER, no team has been invited with a below .500 record in the tournament's couple of years since the rule change. Michigan after beating a top 5 team in OSU with a record of 16-17 (is they lost the next game) would have been a very interesting decision for the NIT selection committee.
The idea that a team should be able to play postseason college basketball... nay... postseason ANYTHING with a sub-.500 record is downright absurd.
A 96 team tourney would mean that the NIT would most likely take teams with losing records. Wohoo watered down basketball!
There's a pretty good chance the NIT wouldn't exist (or at least would be fazed out) if the NCAA goes to 96 teams.
"the NIT selection committee."
That quote made me laugh for whatever reason.
No surprise with a sub-0.500 record.
It is what it is and it's time for John Beilein to examine the deficiencies in this team, the returning strengths, and his strategy for the next season. Last season was great, and he can put together a good team again for next year. Time to move on!
So, Michigan didn't get into the NIT... Does it matter? Lets look forward to next season.
What do "Turner's braces" have to do with anything? Have we devolved to the point where we're going to make fun of other players for stuff like that? What's next - are we going to start calling Tom Crean "Four Eyes"?
I am with Demar Dorsey Fan C! Who's with me?!?!?
Forget that goldfish looking dude
