Nike: what do you want to see from them?
Bumble bee jerseys, zebra striped basketball shorts and visors.

While everyone is wearing big ass championship rings.
Ass-less chaps.
Chaps are ass-less by definition, no? I never understood that saying for that reason.
I want ass-less khakis. I'd get all the womens.
black cleats
With white socks
I prefer the black socks.
I want to see a product that is enjoyed by the athletes. Keep the helmets Traditional (no overkill) as well as the standard blue home uni. To me the road uni is fair game to play with. If athletes want more
Alternates (which they most certainly will) then I'd be all for them as long as they keep us in the limelight.

At most I expect the helmets to undergo the USC change...
A Maize n Blue version of this would be awesome imo.
I wouldn't mind seeing a Michigan helmet like the USC one. As long as they keep the glitter off the helmets like they had in the Sugar Bowl.
NEVER shall there ever be a trojan head on our glorious Winged Helmets!
I don't think that's what he meant. He's just talking the style. The finish and chrome facemask.

You are correct that's what I was saying.
I'm like 100% sure that was a joke.

the "/s" was so obvious that it wouldn't be necessary for me to actually include it.
I agree. I think this kind of change is a positive one. Keeps the traditional look while adding the flair the young kids are looking for. I personally liked the matte blue helmets. Hell I liked the grey facemasks too. As long as it's the winged helmet in maize and blue, I'll probably like it.
Just being around high school
kids and athletes all day, I can't emphasize enough how big of a deal
this is for the university and our overall appeal to national recruits.
To most of us it probably sounds self-centered, egotistical and crazy to think an apparel company matters so much but this is the generation of kids our society has shaped. It's a huge deal to those we are looking to entice.

Maize and no alternates.

The Fab 5 didn't wear Nike
...also note the block M on the maize shorts was often at a different height on the side of the shorts. Weird.
What company was that then?
But Nike only provided shoes for Michigan...not jerseys. Football and MBB. We didn't get Nike apparel until March 1994 and basketball season was almost over, so I'm guessing they didn't get them until the next season, where football got Nike that fall of '94.
Didn't Nike sell the black "Fab Five" socks?
But that was Nike making money off a phenomenon at Michigan without paying the players...it wasn't a contract with Michigan.
They just noticed the Michigan players wore black socks and so they started making their own black socks with a white swoosh so people could be like the Fab 5.
Then again, you can't pay someone for starting a trend or a style. Otherwise I'd come out the house wearing some outlandish shit hoping something would catch on and I'd get a check.
Well my good buddy and friend was telling everybody over the weekend at the Fab five did wear Nike
Russell Athletic made the jerseys. Watching the Fab Five documentary, you can see the R at the bottom of the untucked jersey when Chris Webber is walking off the court after the UNC championship game.
You mean to tell me Michigan recruited one of the best classes in college basketball history without Nike or Adidas or Under Amour??!!
Just another example of how times have changed.
I knew we should've gone with Russell. Or Puma.
Or brought back Steve and Barry's.
Steve and Barry's was the shit!
Huge selection at the best price
better gloves...adidas were so lame and awkward looking when the palms were side by side
DANGER ZONE!!!!!
Ugh.....
STAHP!!!!
The funny thing is you didn't have to read the thread or post...
But I did...
Right? I can't not click a new thread
Exactly
And that's how I gotcha.
Uniformz that don't suck.
Simple and classic with modern lines and fabrics. Nothing crazy.
To what Nike does to uniforms ( or amy of the forms).
I was such a fool for thinking that the Nike announcement meant the end of apparel threads
And yet you decided to go in and post, that's an interesting choice.
If the glove fits
and blow.
And Quaaludes if you're Bill Cosby...
oh...
Hey, I designed that shoe on Nike ID!
Thanks!
For football:
Don't touch the home uniforms - put the small Block M back above the nameplate and get rid of "MICHIGAN" spelled out
Away uniforms should look like what was rumored in March...except outline the navy in maize so we don't have a Penn St. top and put navy numbers on the shoulder pades (just like the home) and outline those in maize. Outline the names on the back in maize as well. AND NO HIGHLIGHTER YELLOW!
For Men's Basketball:
Go with the Cazzie Russell's, with longer shorts, and put a jumpman logo on them...
