So children arent allowed to have jobs?
I dont want to go political here, but....
(yes, I said but...so that means I am going to do it anyway)
If it werent for Nike employing those children to make clothes, they would be working for much less money and in much more dangerous conditions.
I dont think that is something Nike can control.
The truth sucks, but some children end up working in dangerous/criminal conditions in order to help support their family.
If Nike is providing them with a steady paycheck and reletively safe working conditions, then I think we should all tip our hats to Nike for doing so.
That's the same defense they gave 15 years ago when they moved their factories to non-unionized China and Taiwan. They knew what was going on in those sweatshops, err, factories, and hid behind that defense as long as they could.
If Nike cared about providing steady paychecks and safe working conditions, there were plenty of folk here in the states that could've made the shoes.
Well no. Of course they dont care. They are doing it for cheap labor.
I'm just saying that there is a lot worse things that can be done, and the end game is that children in those countries get jobs that are somewhat safe and pay them decent compared to whatever they would mae otherwise.
It is still substandard working conditions compared to America, but for those places it is better than an alternative.
they have been busted numerous times employing children. and I think they are the main reason college sports is so corrupt now a days. And Adidas only employs people with a HS diploma or better with a $25/hour starting wage? C'mon. And college sports is corrupt because of Nike. And Adidas. And ESPN. And the fact that the NCAA doesn't give a shit how many bagmen schools allow around their program as long as the money train keeps rolling.

When we were Nike, we were good in everything.
It was good JuJu. Who are we to question why?

The Nike Maize thing is so fucked out. Any company can use any color they want. A company like Tiffany has a trademark on blue jewelry boxes only. Any company can use that color for any other purpose. Saying that you like Nike Maize is as dumb as saying you like Nike blue.
Prefer Nike. No matter who they end up with, they'll have their issues with sweatshops and different levels of excessive branding, but at least Nike has some nice cotton stuff. That said, I like Under Armour's apparel a tad more.
Adidas should get rid of the 3 stripes logo and use the trefoil.

We will get fucked by both companies. Adidas put their worst people on the college contracts and their best people on Soccer. The German national teams uniforms are some of the best I've ever seen. The Adidas NBA stuff is great as well. If we sign with Nike they will put all of their scrubs and interns on our contract and their best people on Oregon, the NFL and Lebron. We should go UA because they are hungry and will put some of their best designers on our contract. All of the small sports will be able to use superior shoes and equipment from smaller companies (Mizuno, Asics, etc.) and not be force to use a bunch of Nike crap (golf tees, swim goggles, Nike baseball bats).
