Most people are still nursing their drinks I am guessing but there are still some games being played. Does anyone want to talk about those to take our minds off of what could have been?
Night Games Thread
I just hope Alabama doesn't end up losing... Hate to see Ohio in the championship game
It is all tied up in the 4th. Alabama has the ball on their own 1 yard line.
99 yard td!!!!!
Auburn's secondary is terrible.
Hackenberg is carving up Wisconsin. Our loss to PSU isn't looking nearly as bad as it once did. This may also lead to only 1 BCS bid for the Big10 and should help the bowl matchups.
I wonder if he was saying Bud Da Dum, Bud Da Dum as he was running that in.
That was just beautiful.
PSU is so going to blow this.
I hate Alabama with all get out. On any week, the teams I want to lose the most, in order:
But here I am having to "root" for them. Would much prefer Auburn to win. But would much, much, much prefer Ohio to not go to the Championship game.
Normally I like to see upsets. Not this year. Bama and FSU need to keep winning. Roll Tide!
What is the deal with the sewing machine?
I'm in my living room in Tucson, watching the Alabama / Auburn game and anticipating the upcoming Clemson / South Carolina and Arizona / Arizona State games.
I hate Notre Dame ... can't stand watching them. Doesn't matter the opponent.
I have no dog in the UA / ASU game, but beware the Sun Devils ... they're pretty good. I suspect UA is going up to Tempe (100 miles north of Tucson) and is facing a pretty tough game.
Cheers from Chandler! Yeah I'm really looking forward to the Zona/ASU game tonight too.
I'm with you.... Want to see Bama and FSU. Hate rooting for SEC schools and Florida teams.
PSU is beating Wisconsin. No, really!
- Alabama has not exactly played like a team favored by 10 points or so throughout the entire game. Auburn's #6-ranked rushing offense really has done a good job overall.
- Sewing machines on the sideline in the SEC are apparently a thing. I did not realize the you could have a tailor / seamstress on staff per the NCAA rules.
Maybe that is part of being an "equipment manager" in the SEC?
Equipment managers have been known to sew patches and name plates on jerseys
BOB is a horrible clock manager. Could've easily burned another 10 secs off with a poorly timed TO and by trying for a FG instead of runnig a play
That was a poor decision and I hope it bites you .
Safety for them? Naaah, screw it... let's just score a touchdown instead.
Also, this is the first game Amari Cooper's gone over 100 yards, which I found surprising.
I want Bama to lose and Mizzou to beat A&M tonight. I think a one loss SEC champion leaps tOSU to play FSU.
This is looking like Alabama is going to survive.
Bama doing everything it can to lose this game....
This is a crazy game without a doubt. I am getting my money's worth.
Darn you Auburn!!!
Wow TD Auburn with 30 seconds left in the 4th - tie game. That sprint option pass reminded me of RR/Denard pop pass years ago.
Hey look! Overtime in the UGA game! That is what should have happened with our game!
Hey look! The Bama game is about to go into overtime! That is what should have happened with our game!
Oh well. This program and fans will continue being cursed until we are ready to compete with Ohio and stop losing close games, but actually win them for a change.
You do realise basically everyone with anything to do with college football has said that was the right call. For people like you no matter what Hoke did it would have been the wrong call.
Michigan's chances going to overtime against OSU, who was averaging 8 ypc and Michigan missing Gibbons, were slim. Better to go for the win. If he had made it, everyone would have called it genius. Go be a pussy somewhere else.
Sounds familiar, except they're going into overtime.
The unfortunate part is, you just know that if Auburn wins, Brady will be unfairly chastised for going for two because look, overtime works.
Only a total idiot would chastise Hoke for that.
Should have been in eligible downfield on Auburn's TD. Tackle was about 5 yards downfield
Just like Hoke SHOULDVE......All the momentum i with Auburn now..at HOME just like Hoke..Malzhan has done in one year what Hoke will never do....Why cant we have a coach who knows how to WIN Instead were left with a average MAC coach and 5 loss seasons
You're a clown.
You do realize he left it up to the seniors to decide right?
Can you imagine asking the seniors if they want to go for it and they say "no, coach, just kick the extra point"?
You must have been watching a different game than I was. I saw a Michigan defense that could not stop Ohio State at all. I saw Michigan with a kicker who did not even dress. I also saw a Michigan QB who was clearly hurt and playing on with nothing but determination. I am not sure why these conditions would be conducive for a Michigan victory in overtime, so I can only conclude that you were watching a different game than I was.
A lot of close ones tonight.
Rooting for Alabama is killing me. They can buy all the national championships they want and because of those shitheads in Columbus, I have to root for these guys.
Let's say Auburn wins. Then crushes top 5 mizzou.......are we so sure that those two wins aren't enough for a one loss SEC Champ to jump Ohio State?
No. But why take the fucking chance. Bama and FSU win out. Keep Ohio out of the MNC and Sparty out of the rose bowl, right?
Great, now people are saying "Look at Auburn! They played for OT!"
Different situations. Auburn is actually getting stops on D and Alabama doesn't have a competent kicker. Better chances for Auburn in OT.
Those "people" you speak of, are most likely children under the age of thirteen and burdened with low IQ's. But I guess they do count as people.
Bama with what is a 57 yarder for the win...
This Alabama Auburn game is just as good as The Game. Awesome.
OH MY GOD!!!
Wow...Auburn just won on that.
No fucking way
omg speechless Auburn wins...
And Auburn wins.
Did that seriously just happen? Speechless.
DOWN GOES BAMA?????????????????
Fucking OSU. Merry Christmas.
In your face, Saban.
Bama just shit themselves
holy fucking shit
OSU in NC game now? lol
Go ahead. I challenge you to prove that the buckeyes are not the luckiest team ever.
MSU is going to rock their world.
Well, have you seen Auburn's last two games?
Did he step out of bounds? isn't it reviewable?
NVM... looks like a good return.
Wow. I have never seen that.
Fuck everything. Just fuck everything. Hopefully Florida State murders OSU. And I hope Stanford kills MSU.
Should have let the clock expire and go overtime.
I hope that doesn't put OSU in the championship game.
1. MSU has to beat OSU
2. Auburn has to pass OSU
Mike Slive is going to kill Gus Malzahn for this.
Talk about a boneheaded coaching call. No chance of making that, only chance is for a block-return or a miss return. Fucking STUPID!
So, now it is up to FSU to beat Ohio. Could it happen? Nope. Everything goes Ohio's way. They are your 2013 champions. FML.
Could it happen? Assuming that is the matchup FSU would be a huge favourite. They would destroy OSU.
Do not forget Jameis Winston's issues. Assuming they win next week, watch Winston get suspended and Ohio will coast to a national title.
Yay! Make that FOUR title game appearances for our most hated rival since 2002! That is GREAT for M's recruiting.
Well, if there was any doubt, we all just became MSU fans...
Hokes decision looks worse by the second...
Michigan still would have lost that game. Kindly STFU.
WOW!! Auburn is incredibly lucky this year. These past two weeks have been amazing for them. Simply unbelievable!
OSU's schedule had them in first in my books for the luckiest team of the year. But 2 really lucky wins moves Auburn ahead of them for me
You think Alabama wishes the 1 second overturn hadn't happened?
Celebrate good times, come on!
Prepare for the Nick Saban to Texas rumors.
Wow, as if this day couldn't get any shittier.
Pray hard for MSU to pull out the win next week, otherwise you might as well spoon feed OSU the title. Naturally they'll get the benefit of playing a Winston-less FSU. Fuck everything. How many lucky breaks has that team gotten the past two years?
is that Auburn Might jump Ohio
sweet jesus, what an all-time crazy game.
But MSU will beat Ohio next week. Either way, Ohio will NOT win the championship. In fact, they will lose their bowl game no matter who they play.
How many FG issues did Bama have this game? 4 missed with one long return on a miss to win the game?!?! Not sure what Saban was thinking kicking that FG.... The extra second... my god what a crazy game.... Hell of a day for college football fans watching some great games.
Smart move by Malzahn to actually put a guy back there. A lot of coaches wouldn't.
Who cares about OSU. They'll get thrashed by whoever they play if they make it.
I'm happy to see Alabama/Saban lose in such a fashion.
Wow. Don't think I've ever seen a missed FG returned for a TD before.
Remember this afternoon....one of the great ones in NCAA history
Auburn leapfrogs OSU.
FSU-Auburn in the title game.
Sparty, No! in the B1G champ game, OSU to Rose, Sparty gets the Florida Citrus Bowl once again.
Would be nice. Auburn has better wins and a tougher schedule than OSU but I don't think it will be enough leapfrog them.
I think that's the greatest ending to a college football game ever.
Seeing a cheating program like Bama have their hearts ripped out is nice.
But damn. This is like OSU wins twice today. Riding right into the national title game with a cake walk schedule. My GOD. Now I have to root for Sparty next week. Just kill me now.
I have a much easier time rooting for msu than osu. Fuck everything about osu.
they had their hearts ripped out by another cheating program.
Stop worrying about implications. That was fun for neutral fans to watch. If you can't enjoy that, it's time to give up watching sports
The look on Saban's face was priceless.
OSU vs FSU in title game. FSU qb is charged and suspended. F-ing Ohio wins the national title. My dad declared this would happen three weeks ago. I told him he was being ridiculous. Now there is actually a reasonable chance this could happen. Only a life long browns fan could see this out come that early
Honestly, I think MSU is the best team in the conference right now. That defense is going to hit Miller like he has never been hit before.
That was a case of, "becareful what you wish for" with that one second going back on. It fucked Bama in the end. It's nice to see even the great Nick Saban make some bone-headed coaching calls -- every the great ones make mistakes. I am 100% certain that if they go to OT Bama wins.
Having watched Saban at MSU, f**king this game up like this is well within his wheelhouse. Saban has a talent for taking a sure win and totally screwing the pooch.
Up 14-3 on Irish.
Thankfully the AJ McCarron heisman garbage is over.
It was just so nice see the coach that everyone thinks is the greatest ever make a call that completely fucks his team. There is a 0% chance of a make from 57 yards, and that brings in the flukes like a block-return or a miss-return. A hail mary would have been better, or just take a freakin' knee and play in OT. Fucking stupid.
Clemson muffs a punt and it costs them a TD - South Carolina is now up 14-7 early in the 2nd quarter now.
Over the SEC, I wonder what Kentucky and Tennessee play for now that they've opted not to play for the Beer Barrel or whatever it was...
A&M beats Mizzou
SC beat Auburn
Winston is charged
OSU vs Bama in the championship
UCLA cheerleaders vs. USC's: who you got?
Liked ucla, personally. Something about the blue
Definitely the hottest cheer squad in the country.
Between the two, I'd take UCLA. USC Song Girls are overrated IMO.
What is MSU currently ranked? If they lose next week, they wouldn't be ranked high enough to play in any BCS bowl given their schedule.
Nah, losing to a #2 OSU team isn't going to drop MSU out of top 14 in BCS standings. #15 Wisconsin and #16 Fresno lost. Sparty is safe, unfortunately
I hope this is the drinking thread.
Geeze, does Stanford need to win next week to be in a BCS game. As I finish the post, ND is punting from its own 10 w/ 7-1/2 to go.
Hmm, apparently Paul Walker just died. No more Fast and Furious
Rich Rod's team down 20-0...but but but we made a mistake firing him!!!!
Bottom line is RR's Arizona teams will always be good enough to beat a team they shouldn't but will drop a game they shouldn't the next week.
Now its 27-0. Zona is getting pummelled.
Zona is heading for the same record as UM, 7-5. Yea!
Unless Arizona gets it together, RR is headed to a 5th straight losing record in conference play and six consecutive years with a loss in the final game of the regular season.
He should have stayed in WVU. He had everything to be a legend at WVU.
His conference record over the past five years would drop to 14-28 with a loss tonight.
And in rivalry games, 0-5.
Of the three road games in that set this would be the closest game if it stays 51-21.
0-6 including his last rivalry game against Pitt.
if RR winning a NC at WVU would have kept the Big East together.
He will struggle with that system in major conferences. The level of overall coaching in the BIG and PAC12 is just far superior, not much gets by those guys and their year to year preperation is head and shoulders better than some of the weak coaching staffs in the Big East he went up against.
Lets say RR stayed at WVU, the landscape of college football continued to change and WVU ended up in the Big 12. Do any of us really believe he would have WVU in a place to compete in that league?
Arizona has now surrendered 58 points to Arizona State -- the most points scored by either team in the Territorial Cup since 1978.
