I suspect I'm not alone in cheering for Bucky against the Bucks. This game could potentially determine whether or not we get a doubleheader against Ohio (assuming we, of course, win our division).
September 28th, 2013 at 7:39 PM ^
Well considering I wouldn't root for osu under any circumstances unless it helped us, no. On Wisconsin!
September 28th, 2013 at 7:42 PM ^
Go Wisconsin!!!
September 28th, 2013 at 7:42 PM ^
Weather at the Washington game looks brutal.
September 28th, 2013 at 7:45 PM ^
the weather isn't bad enough to dull those resplendent Husky helmets
September 28th, 2013 at 7:49 PM ^
Those helmets would be blinding. Why has CFB turned into a bunch of raccoons? Always with those shiny things....
September 28th, 2013 at 7:46 PM ^
I had the option to work in Seattle or in the Bay Area. It's 75 and sunny right now.
September 28th, 2013 at 7:44 PM ^
Is it bad that I want Arizona to fall apart just so we can stop talking about Rodriguez?
September 28th, 2013 at 7:46 PM ^
Yes.
EDIT: Because it won't change anything.
September 28th, 2013 at 7:47 PM ^
He's so polarizing.
September 28th, 2013 at 7:46 PM ^
you probably answered your own question.
There were no RR comments until you just made one. Since you brought it up, I'm rooting for Arizona just cause I wish the dude well.
September 28th, 2013 at 8:00 PM ^
i don't wish him well or ill. I just don't think about him anymore.
September 28th, 2013 at 7:47 PM ^
Could you imagine if Arizona won the rose bowl before we did? That would be a nightmare.
September 28th, 2013 at 8:21 PM ^
Arizona's never even played in the Rose Bowl in school history so, you know, cart before the horse. It's not too likely in the near future either with Oregon and Stanford in the way.
September 28th, 2013 at 8:34 PM ^
Agreed. Just talking worst case scenarios.
September 28th, 2013 at 8:46 PM ^
Why? Rich Rod didn't work out here but I wish him nothing but success going forward. He was a genuine man who tried and wanted it to work but it just wasn't going to here. Michigan is my #1 team but any team RichRod coaches is my #2.
September 28th, 2013 at 9:36 PM ^
I don't consider RichRod my #2 by any means, but I wish him the best and hope he's successful. He did his best, he wanted to stay, and it just didn't work. And, in my opinion it didn't work mainly because of the defense. If he was a little wiser to the traditions of UM and had Mattison for his d-coordinator he would still likely be our coach. Granted, he didn't do that so he still failed, but I supported him as our coach and I will root for him.
September 28th, 2013 at 10:54 PM ^
I like to think of Richrod as my #2 also.
September 29th, 2013 at 9:18 AM ^
I go even further than focusing on Rich Rod for those disastrous years. Certainly AD Bill Martin should get some of the blame for hiring Rich Rod in the first place. At the time this was considered the most important decision in Bill Martins career and one of the most in Michigan football history.
He was sleeping when Les Miles was available for that small open window of opportunity. Defensive coordinator Bo Pelini was available at the time. So was Ron English and other assistants on the Michigan football staff. Brady Hoke was available. Michigan native and Iowa football coach Kirk Ferentz would have probably jumped at the opportunity. All of these candidates would've kept up with the Michigan traditions.
September 29th, 2013 at 9:48 AM ^
Les Miles is pretty sleazy. Maybe it's a by-product of having to compete in the SEC but I'm not really sure I want him here and glad we whiffed on him.
If people didn't like how RR yelled at players on the sidelines, Pelini is worse and his tenure at Nebraska has been nothing short of a dumpster fire. Plus he's an OSU grad.
I don't blame him for wanting to clear house from Lloyd's boys. Hoke was an unproven commodity at the time.
Kirk Ferentz is god awful.
September 28th, 2013 at 8:55 PM ^
I'd be fine with it. he's a good coach. it didn't work out here, but he certainly could turn Arizona into a top tier program.
September 28th, 2013 at 7:50 PM ^
It's not bad. Everybody is entitled to their opinion.
I'd rather both programs find success and maybe meet each other in a high profile game one day.
I think the thing that will make people stop talking about him is if we have a similar level of confidence in the offense as we do with the defense. I do think we're getting great players on both sides of the ball but the question is will they develop and we'll only know that with time.
Anyway go Ole Miss (puked a little) and Wisconsin. I will say though if Wisconsin wins what little credibility our conference has will go out the window probably but in case we are able to make it to the BTCG I'd rather not face OSU again.
September 28th, 2013 at 7:50 PM ^
I really dig their uniforms.
September 28th, 2013 at 7:46 PM ^
Ole Miss is hanging with them right now. Alabama up 6-0, but Ole Miss had 2 plays go really bad for them (both involving Laquon Treadwell) inside the Alabama 40 yd line.
September 28th, 2013 at 7:54 PM ^
Ole Miss will be crazy in a couple if years when those guys get experience.
September 28th, 2013 at 8:03 PM ^
Eh.. a handful of guys doesn't make for a spectacular team. Gotta have depth and bruisers in the trenches. They've been recruiting decently this year but nothing special. They did pick up the big fish late last year though so we'll see.
September 28th, 2013 at 7:48 PM ^
These next 4 weeks are going to be huge for him: Texas A&M, Florida, South Carolina, and Alabama.
September 28th, 2013 at 7:52 PM ^
That is a nightmare....
September 28th, 2013 at 7:53 PM ^
Arkansas has to go @ Ole Miss and @ LSU in November.
September 28th, 2013 at 7:54 PM ^
I'll give him credit for taking on a bigger challenge. Maybe one day the Big Ten will be the better league but it may not be while he is still coaching. Unfortunately that is the league to be in right now and it sucks. So tired of them.
September 28th, 2013 at 7:50 PM ^
Is my tv at fault here or is the weather at the Washington-Zona game messing with the sound?
September 28th, 2013 at 7:51 PM ^
Rich Rodriguez is what this what this blog has become as of late. Whiny, ornery, and extremely potty mouthed. I don't miss the guy.
September 28th, 2013 at 8:00 PM ^
I'm sure he'd be heartbroken to hear how mm92. feels about him.
September 28th, 2013 at 8:15 PM ^
Indeed sir. He most certainly would.
September 28th, 2013 at 8:18 PM ^
but I don't miss the way he tears into his players on the sideline. He is absolutely ripping into his QB after what looked like a smart throwaway without any good options. Sheesh, he is about to bust a blood vessel. He's going full Brian Kelly right now.
September 28th, 2013 at 7:51 PM ^
if they didn't have those ugly red helmets and Washington didn't have those cool chrome ones.
September 28th, 2013 at 7:58 PM ^
Yeah, those UW helmets are awesome. And for me, I adopted ASU as my 2nd favorite team when I moved to AZ. So, I guess being archrivals of the Sun Devils and having RR as their coach, makes it easy for me to cheer against Zona.
I will say this though, given enough time RR could turn Zona into something special. I think he could steal a lot of in-state Phoenix area talent if his system becomes Oregon Jr. in the PAC.
September 28th, 2013 at 8:05 PM ^
I definitely root for Zona and RR, I like the style of offense and the strategy behind it.
September 28th, 2013 at 7:53 PM ^
Between Stanford, Oregon, UCLA, and Washington to PAC-12 may have the strongest top portion of any conference in the country. The SEC has strong teams at the top, but it seems really close right now.
September 28th, 2013 at 8:02 PM ^
Completely agree. Washington is much better than many people think.
September 28th, 2013 at 8:07 PM ^
What does that say about Illinois then? They only lost by 10. Didn't watch the game but was it as close as the score?
September 28th, 2013 at 8:17 PM ^
It was fairly close - Illinois had a chance to tie it up but couldn't convert. 10 pt difference is correct. But, it was an away game so a 14 pt diff is probably more correct

I really hope that holds.
September 28th, 2013 at 8:06 PM ^
It will be interesting to see how OSU's Dline holds up against the likes of Gordon and White. Correct me if I'm wrong, but Schutt is still injured and they aren't very experienced there anyways.
September 28th, 2013 at 7:56 PM ^
Also I'd like fat slob to beat Texas A&M so A&M basically has no chance at an NC.
September 28th, 2013 at 7:58 PM ^
Saban giving his best impression of Kelly crimson style. You go yell now.
September 28th, 2013 at 7:58 PM ^
Casteel has made a world of difference for RR. One thing I still regret is not offering him enough money to come with RR.
They wouldn't be shutdown world beaters but serviceable with a solid O would have made a world of difference.
September 28th, 2013 at 8:07 PM ^
Shit. I should have offered him cash too.
September 28th, 2013 at 8:14 PM ^
doesnt change the fact that he couldnt recruit
