Not a lot of big ones...besides SC/Ducks...and wow The Vols are 4-6 this season? that is sad

and the fighting houston nutts throw a pick 6 within 30 secs of the game starting.
Let's go SC!!!
But KSU-Texas could be a lot of fun, if the way the Wildcats finish games lately is any indication.
ND vs BC is a mess. I still want them to win out, which would give Stanford two losses.
i forgot about the Texas/Kstate game, i was to busy laughing at ole Miss throwing a pick 6 28 secs into the game.
I know we dont want to talk about RR here, but he would be an idiot to even consider that job. It's a no win situation.
Was Vincent Smith injured today? I was at game today and didn't see my man Vincent Smith at all.
Was wondering the same thing. I'm a big fan a Vincent's running, like when he gets 5-10 carries as a kind of change of pace back. Hopefully he'll be back next week
Touchdown BC! Down by 3 with 1:57 left
I know this is totally untreated, but has anyone heard any new rumblings on Gunner Keil? I read a recent thread on Twitter suggesting that he should be considered a strong Michigan lean. The person said that he's close to Keil's family and that his preference is to stay in the big ten, thus giving Michigan an advantage over ND. This could be old info, but just curious as to what others may have heard regarding him...
You sure your source is credible? Last we heard Gunner didn't want to come here because of the competiton with both the QB's already here and Shane Morris
was going to wait until his season was over, which is now since East lost last night to Indianapolis Cathedral in semi-state.
We can probably change the tagline on the site from the Fightin' John Waynes thing can't we?
all the internet meme signs during gameday?
It's a good thing for them that the season is almost over; I'll be shocked if next week on CGD there aren't a myriad of signs saying, "ahh, fuck it!"
speaking of state finals...congrats to Coach Wilcher and Cass Tech for making it to the state title game this year.
LSU/Ole Miss - Why on earth would Ole Miss call a jet sweep from their 1 yard line?
I'm gonna guess because Nutt doesn't really care anymore. figures might as we have some fun with some bad play calls to end my run at Ole Miss.
I love ACC refs. They make every ACC game an adventure.
I like Oregon's mouthguards. Every team should have appropriately colored wax lips.
So how is it possible that Oregon can have the 3 Heat players and Chris Paul at the game without it being a recruiting violation. This is crazy, especially seeing as how they are play SC which stopped letting Will Farrel on the sidelines because they thought it cpuld be a recruiting violation. I can understand former players, but not random celebrities (I guess this includes Russel Crow, but he did give the ore-game speech so that's probably an exception). I just don't know how they can get away with this.
That is not really close. Fumble.
Gosh, those USC cheerleaders are...... eh.. fvck it.
Exactly.
Wow...Oregon is playing defense now? Good for them.
Cheering for UVa and USC. A Virginia win setting up a de facto divisional title game with Va Tech next week would breathe some life into that rivalry.
As much as it would leave MaizeAndBlueWahoo ripping his garments in two, I think Mike London would be a near perfect fit for Penn State.
There would in fact be gnashing of teeth and rending of garments, but I don't see that ever happening.
He's still one burnt Chip on the sideline.
EDIT: Even the field judge had trouble believing the futility of that punt.
Touchdown USC! A beautiful throw by Barkley.
I like Barkley better than Luck...not sure why though. But I just do....I think he has just as much of a chance to make a huge NFL career as Luck does.
Probably everyone doesn't discuss Barkley as the greatest QB ever.
I see the Oregon Raiders are making another appearance.
Thomas lost about two miles on that sack.
Chip, 4th and 8? Screen pass? Really?
That intentional grounding call in the SC game was bogus. Didn't we just go over in a thread that the rule states the QB must be judged to be throwing the ball to avoid an immenent loss of yardage by tackle? There was no sack coming. Bad call.
That might be the worst intentional grounding call I've ever seen. (USC/Oregon)
In the Pac-12, the receiver must be right there at that moment or it is intentional grounding. The bar on that call seems rather low here.
IMHO
How long has Reed been at Florida State now? I feel like he was part of the 1999 National Championship team..
Robert Woods is a beast...extremely tough match up.
Nice.
Do tipped passes fall under the Infield Fly Rule too?
of the Oregon-USC game - it makes the ducks look like bugs. Losing bugs.
WTF?
That's Sandusky play right there.
is looking very stoppable right now. It is yet another example of how a well coached team with good athletes can stifle this offense/
....your receiving corps makes it a point to run straight into the other team's interior line. That's for certain.
Or not.
You can offer that retort once Oregon hits 30, but not after one TD.
The thing I disagree with is your utterly ridiculous idea that when a good defense stops a spread offense it means the spread is bad. No one says the pro-style is dead when they get shutdown.
Your strawman is burning.
It is yet another example of how a well coached team with good athletes can stifle this offense.
Your use of "this offense". Considering that a well coached team with good athletes can stop any offense, you didn't need to single out this style.
Which offense out there is completely immune to being stopped by well-coached teams with good athletes?
It is not unstoppable. No offense is unstoppable and any defense can be scored upon. My point is that the spread is no different than any other offense that has ever been used. It was not an attack on the offense itself, but a comment about the excessive fondness some have for it.
Really? You don't say. What a novel concept, I'd like to subscribe to your newsletter.
....and that punt is returned for -0.63 miles.
UPDATE: USC, my 4-year old has a question - "What happened, backfield?"
I'm kinda disappointed in the oregon uniforms tonight...I was looking for some neon action tonight..thanks a lot chip.
This game is also proving even through all the change in offenses over the eras....football is still won in the trenches. USC has been winning in the trenches and really slowing oregon down. Much like LSU and Auburn did.
Love the Dline we are bringing in this year.
Boy, USC looks good tonight.
It isn't so fun when you realize your defense is made of rice paper, no?
upset all the teams! I want bcs chaos.
that increase how bcs's chances?
I agree with one of the above posters: I'm not so sure Luck is better than Barkley. And that's not meant as a knock on Luck.
It would help because then Orgeon would definitely be in the Rose Bowl and not the title game. There's some concern if they went to the title game that the Rose Bowl would then take Stanford as an at large, while the Orange or Fiesta bowls would probably prefer us since Stanford has a small alumni base that doesn't travel well historically.
He sort of caught it out of bounds. Emphasis on "sort of".
how do you blow that call officials?? He was out of bounds and juggled it the entire way. wow, pac 12 officials should be ashamed of this 1st half.
Pushing Oregon to two losses would be huge. Stanford slips back into the Pac 10 championship game and eliminates the two-bids-from-Pac12 scenario.
I couldn't help but lol at Kiffin's astonishment on the call. He had that wtf face when he asked the ref how they called that.
That was almost a good drive. Almost.
How would an Oregon loss put Stanford in the PAC 12 title game? One conference loss each, Oregon with the tie breaker.
Huge fumble at the end of the half for Oregon btw. Oklahoma is losing. A loss there would probably guarantee only one Big XII BCS bid.
It wouldn't. If Oregon wins tonight or next week against Oregon State, they're in the PAC-12 title game against...a pretty bad team.
I would nail Heather Cox.
Wow, Baylor just answered OU's td, leads 17-10 late in 2nd quarter.
Battle of the ages here....
Arizona versus Arizona State. I'll take Utah in this one.
and LSU is already taking a knee to avoid scoring.
Pushed too far, not running up the score stops being merciful and becomes insulting.
Perhaps there is more to Lane Kiffin than meets the eye. He's quietly turning in a pretty good season at the helm.
The Oregon mystique is disintegrating right before our eyes.
This USC/Oregon game is getting ridiculously sloppy. Someone cue up Yakkety Sax.
Wow I come back from listening to Michigan's hockey game and I see USC beating oregon 24-7. Anyone watching this tennessee-vandy game? There's a little over 2 left, vandy just got the ball back and it's tied 21-21. I hope vandy pulls it out and beats them. Because that would make tennessee 4-7. The less SEC teams in bowl season, the better.
This is actually getting annoying. We could see 4 of the top 7 teams lose this weekend and get knocked out of the title hunt. That leaves LSU, Bama, and Arkansas as the top 3 teams. Get ready to hear all about the SEC this week!
Maybe so, but they'll be right - the SEC West is legit. 11-0, 10-1, 10-1.
I agree completely. I just die a little inside when I think about what it will be like to turn on ESPN at any point this next week because that will be all they talk about. Hopefully Auburn pulls out some magic in the Iron Bowl and LSU thrashes Arkansas. Then what?
We just got our best win since 2006 penn state, and have a legitimate shot at a bcs bowl in a season which few would have predicted it. Enjoy it.
And all those losses mean Michigan may jump up more spots in the polls. A win next week and we could finish the regular season in the top 10.
Top 10. Could you have believed it 4 months ago!? Crazy.
Never. I also thought before the year that Nebraska was going to lay the wood to us. I'm very pleased to be wrong about that one.
Nebraska was the biggest threat all year, in my mind. Even knowing their shortcomings. Good to see Big Blue start the rivalry off on the right foot!
vandy and tennessee going to overtime. usc goes up 31-14 on oregon. oklahoma and baylor tied at 17 in the 3rd. texas down 17-3 in the 3rd to k-state.
OU starting to assert itself--leading Baylor 24-17.
If Oklahoma fails to pull it out against Baylor, is there really even a point to a national championship game if LSU wins out? They will have wins against Bama, Arkansas, Oregon, and Georgia already. All four of those teams could very likely be top 10 teams. You are telling me if Bama pulls out a win they are somehow now the champions? I'd still consider LSU the best team.
Yeah, but 'Bama would have just as good a schedule. I think the voters will try to not set up a rematch, but at some point it will be out of their hands. Is there an alternative to not Oklahoma/Oklahoma St? VA Tech vs LSU would be pretty not inspiring.
Bama wouldn't have the Georgia or Oregon wins and also would have lost to LSU at home. They would be 2-1 against the top 10 with a home loss instead of 4-1 with a neutral loss. Again just my opinion, but I would still put my vote for LSU.
If Oklahoma wins tonight, I think the Bedlam winner still has a good chance at the national championship game with a strong showing against K St in the Big XII championship game. Other than that, though...Stanford would probably be #3 or 4 and as much as I would like to see Luck playing that LSU secondary I don't think Stanford should be there.
Doesn't exist this year
Oregon doesn't get it.
Did you guys see him??
....is now, "OMG, A Goddamn Reverse With Shifty Blocking!"
impressive kick return by oregon
I like the black leggings Oregon is wearing but I definitely prefer them on women.
If you're watching, keep an eye on #72 on Cal's O-Line. He's a beast and, coincidentally, my neighbor's little brother. He talks about him all the time.
did u see that TD by baylor? upsets are brewing
Oh, and near pick-six by Andrew Luck. LOL
Yes, and now another one to take the lead back. RGIII is nearly as dynamic a player as Robinson.
Is there a rare ophthamological condition which prevents you from seeing people named "Barner"?
Isn't looking too bad. They're moving the ball well.
...with every remaining credible alternative seeming going down this weekend? Unless Oregon comes back, or Okla bumped back up or something. Are there any credible alternatives remaining?
that team wears Maize and Blue. BCS Bound! Who would've thought?
Something about not counting them before they hatch . .
usc up by 11
Update?
The bad man punted him off the bridge, but he made his way back in time to rescue Ron and Veronica from the bears.
Anyone know what they are? I can't figure it out . . .
Axe blades.
Thanks for doing the work of a yeoman.
/seewhatIdidthere?
is playing with toughness and trickery.
This game has been a lot of fun to watch.
to pull within three, Baylor knocking on the door again, some really entertaining games tonight.
I think Oregon's WR's foot was in on that conversion!
If it stands, 38-35 USC.
Epic "WTF Secondary" collapse in progress here.
It's the fourth quarter, and the USC defense is completely exhausted and can't get set between plays quickly enough to stop anything Oregon has coming. It's like time of possession based entirely on time required to set up your offense.
Ye gods, oregon is playing like USC isn't even really out there all of a sudden.
SC better kill a lot of clock, because 3 seconds is enough for oregon to score.
Oregon's offense doesn't suck.
every game when their depth and tempo wear out the opposing team's defense.
I don't mind seeing Oregon come back and win. I hate USC.
Whoa, Baylor just scored another td.
seems intent on giving this game away and Baylor is making them pay for their mistakes.
(and then somehow win that game too)
He needs that O-line to give him about two minutes per throw now.
UVA/Noles....longest review I've ever seen for an obvious incomplete pass
Is Michigan ever going to get one of those suspended cameras?
...at the 2015 National Championship game.
omg the end of FSU-VA is absolutely crazy
Michael Rappaport just went wide left for FSU...
and Tyler decides to drop it. what an epic choke job by the trojans tonight.
Oregon fans are great. Auttzen is so loud!
OH MY
usc fumbled, derping the game away
Love that fumble. Oregon still needs to do something with their good fortune, but that's inexcusable.
Crazy finish to Florida State/Virginia. Cavs win 14-13.
WTF? But it worked!
This Oregon offense is fun to watch...
wklefjaweriofjweropfmwofk23i=0ri2jkeoprgjmiopdrngioerjfpijfioj390rj239-k4p0kwerfopj90rjg9034j9gj3tk234=0i534jgopergm,eoprmgjg34ktg[\wr,b:df,boptgjh
I wish I could cut/paste the "selling jerseys in Ohio" response here . . .
Big win for the Cavs!
I'd've gone with "who" myself. My circuits are scrambled, man. I hardly know what to do with myself besides chug celebratory alcohol. What a wild finish.
Remember when this was going to be a day of such uninteresting games they had to send gameday to SMU/Houston?
The end of FSU/UVa was one of the funniest, most derp filled endings not involving Ron Zook I have ever seen.
He's everywhere!
Landry Jones has been throwing it over Tacopants's head all day!
great open field tackle by the Trojans..not sure what Thomas was doing though. You gotta at least push it down the field a little bit.
LOL
Anyone else think Lane Kiffin looks a lot like Daniel Tosh?
Oregon did not manage the end of this drive very well. You have a first down with 50 seconds at the opponent's 40, and you never take a shot at the endzone?
Denard would have done better.
Wow lots of questionable calls from Kelly
So if oregon goes down...doesn't that pretty much put Bama in the title game with one loss assuming they beat Auburn??
...who else is left w/ just 1 loss. VaTech?
Oregon should go for the fake.
Looks like a d-bag with that hat on.
He looks like one in a boat, he looks like one with a goat.
Just read that to my toddler at bedtime tonight!
/smallworld
...who else is watching New Mexico St./BYU on the U?
/s
derp derp derp...hi were USC
offsides, then he missed. hahahahbhbhwhwhwahwhahwbww
Herbstreit saying "why would you go for it with :08 seconds left from the 30 yard line?" gave me flashbacks to the Notre Dame game. It made it even funnier when their kicker missed the field goal. Maybe that's why you go for it?
Too many coaches assume that kicking a clutch field goal is easy. You really shouldn't put your team in that position if you can avoid it. It really doesn't make sense when you're down 3 and the FG only gets you to overtime, anyway.
Well at least there's no big celebration for Pharoh Brown.
Walking off the field between those two USC players?
So.....Lane they have been through a lot...I got an answer for that one then..dont cheat!!!
...trying desperately to cover the spread against Boise.
and the bcs standings get even more screwed up
Not really. One less one loss team vying for that spot.
they are all just playing for the honor of losing to LSU in the NC game.
For Oregon/Alabama you could have added "again".
Theres a LOT of good 2-loss teams out there.
Chip Kelly threw that. That last drive was awful.
Is it possible that every team with a shot at the NC blows it? Why oh why did we not score against Iowa. We could've stolen a top 5 spot.
Holy Shit, had we beaten Iowa we would actually be in the National Title hunt right now.
yea..the BCS is so screwed up right now...Bama is basicly in with a win over Auburn and it seems like the SEC champion will also get in. So, it's up to Georgia now..
I disagree. The two best teams right now are LSU and Alabama. Sucks, but it is what it is.
I think putting the two best teams in is secondary to choosing a champion fairly. Alabama had a shot at LSU (at home). Why should they get another shot at LSU for keeps when Oklahoma State/Oklahoma won't get even one?
Apparently Erin Andrews knows who Stone Cold Steve Austin is.
This could be your BCS standings tomorrow...
1.LSU
2.Alabama
3.Arkansas
4.Virginia Tech (?????)
5.Oklahoma State
6.Oregon
7.Stanford
8.Boise State
Honestly I think Oklahoma State would be shafted in this scenario. They have the best SOS of the one loss teams. Why should it matter when they lost?
OU seems to have solved its red zone blues by replacing Landry Jones with a running qb down by the goal line. It's worked several times tonight, and now OU is within a td.
Griffin III just targeted him on 3rd and 17.
All these teams lost and Michigan will probably only move up one spot...
If OU doesn't come back, as of this evening the top of the BCS will be:
- LSU
- Alabama
- Arkansas
If they all win next week and LSU then loses to Georgia, it'll be Alabama vs. Arkansas in the championship game? Two teams that didn't even win their own division of their conference?
They can't all win next week. LSU plays Ark.
I knew I was missing something obvious there....
LSU plays Arkansas next week.
That kid is SHORT!
Pretty exciting! OU down by one, about to go for 2???
Ridiculous... and now for the win?
#5 team in the country has to kick to keep title hopes alive!
Is it on?
Besides LSU/Bama.....you could make an argument that 3-25 are all even teams. If I'm not mistaken wasn't nationwide this senior class considered one of the weakest in a long time? I swear i remember 2008 being a weak recruiting class talent wise.
Unless I'm mistaken, LSU plays Arkansas next week, knocking out Arkansas. If OU pulls this out OSU will have two remaining games left against top 10 teams and I think OSU could jump back to #2.
Ok state has one game left and its against oklahoma in two weeks.
Not if they win. Then they play K St., who will be in the top 10 if they win out.
Stoops the gambler? Going for the Win? Wow, that takes some big ones from big game bob.
OU going for 2?? Risky, but they do have 3 timeouts left if needed. Would they run play action here or just MANBALL?
Stoops is crazy.
Burning that timeout will be huge if they need to get off a FG
Stoops is risking a national championship to show how big his balls are
Edit: That false start may have saved his life. I think they were gonna get crushed.
...to have his tackle jump offside. That way he can exhibit his balls and still kick the extra point.
They've gotta kick it now... right? HOW BIG ARE YOUR BALLS BOB STOOPS???
sooners take the PAT, 38-38 tie.
Well Baylor has the right Qb and fast enough receivers they can have a chance to kick it for the win...
Turned out to be a great night of college games.
In that situation it's better to let the ball bounce so no time comes off the clock.
really Baylor...playing for OT, give your QB a chance to lead a drive. You only need 3...
RG3 < Denard.
Art Briles' balls are pebbles compared to Bob Stoops' boulders.
...or are they?
What a game!
Sometimes it's better to have human sized balls.
Why would he want to stay in bounds?? come on mcdonough....jeez
Make OU use a couple of their time outs, then take your shots. This way if it doesn't work they don't have a full set when they get the ball back.
bell has 4 td on about as many carries and yards
wow....gutsy throw
Holy sh-t!!!
Wow! Baylor td!
RG3 to the endzone!!!!!!!
OU goes down!
And Bob Stoops' time out takes its place amongst the worst clock management decisions of ever.
call that TO for OU?
OMG!
And Baylor gets a victory formation!
Hahahaha
...did anyone have the slightest doubt that Stoops would use his timeouts?
Nice piece of psychological analysis by Briles, if you ask me. I'm surprised the announcers were surprised.
I don't think I've ever seen a 40 yard squib kick get recovered by the kicking team before. College football is weird.
How can you forget we did almost the same thing to end the game against ND this year?
We did that against ND this year.
lol...and they dont even bother to pick up the kickoff. Big Game Bob strikes again for OU. Looks like the SEC will rule the BCS yet again...
Chokelahoma
Stanford could still lose tonight too.
479 total yards... just wow.
That was just his passing yardage. 551 total.
Has Cal upset anyone yet this year? It seems like they're good for at least one every year
Again if anything Baylor/USC made the BCS picture clearer by elimination.
such a fun weekend of football, go cal! i want more upsets!
I love watching ADs try to celebrate big wins with the head coach on the field. The head coach always looks annoyed. Hahaha.
Time to root for Cal.
Cal's QB has a "Willie McGee" neck. Remember how long and skinny his neck was in the Cardinals uniform? Hahaha
(dammit! I can't make it any longer. I'm exhausted and the little dude is going to be up early. Hold down the upset fort and have a good rest of the night.
This Cal/Stanford game is yakety saz all over the place.
Erin Andrews got caught in the Gatorade dousing on the field in Waco. Let's just say she looked quite amazing afterwards...she put a pic and video on Twitter.
Maynard tosses a TD and gets the 2 point conversin. Stanford 28-21 with about 11 to play.
