College rules don't recognize the slide. They don't protect you when you do it, and they put the ball where it is when you hit the ground.
The NFL has to have a way for the ball carrier to give himself up, because he can't just end the play by going to ground.

They were struggling even to get the TD. It was all smoke and mirrors...it wasn't going to hold up.
That said, the TCU defense wasn't terrible they only allowed 7 points in the second half. If you hold them to 3, you may have a shot to win in OT.
IMO, that's a classic...run a pick route and get a guy WIDE OPEN. If the refs call it, fuck it, kick and go to OT. If they don't you get a cheap win that you'll gladly take.
