I knew a good amount of people who were arrested with nothing more than a "personal use" amount of marijuana when I was in high school.
I was told when I lived in Boston that a police officer who found you with a small amount would just make you throw it in the sewer. I've heard that in LA you just get a ticket for something like $100...None of this is to say that you should try your luck in those towns, though.
You are also more likely to get in trouble if you are a minority. Not sure if this applies to nick fairley since I have no idea if the cops would recognize him but minorities and especially african americans get arrested at higher rates for dumb shit like this, its one of the major indictments of the justice system in this country.
I think what you often see is minorities being checked out, for lack of a better way to put it, by police and then found with something like marijuana while white people who also have marijuana go by unnoticed. All of this said, the reasonably large amount of people I knew in high school who were arrested for possession were all white (if I remember correctly)...My advice to the kids - whatever race they are - is not to risk getting caught with marijuana.
I think it has less to do with race and more to do with what state you get caught in. Down in Pawl Finebaum country many states have not decriminalized green.
Right, of course. But YOU can definitely buy your "get out of jail free" card for $250 to give yourself legal capability of possession. Therefore, you essentially have no worries.

Let me go on the record (again) in saying that I didn't like it when the Lions drafted him in the first place. Issues like this were bound to happen.

I think making millions of dollars would make me more inclined to not following rules. I would probably have more of a god complex and think that I can do whatever I want, when I want to. I'm sure the atmosphere amongst athletes promotes this.

First, I will say that it never fails to sadden me when players who make as much as Fairley and Leshoure find ways to endanger the things that they have achieved for something as minor (but still against the law and, more importantly to them, team policy) as this stuff. As a paying customer at Ford Field, I want a team of highly conditioned players, not conditionally high players, as entertaining as that would undoubtedly be (especially the spin moves and the off-balance tackles).

Color me shocked. Guys like Fairley and Leshoure are complete idiots, but I don't really give a shit; their lives don't affect me any more than Lindsay Lohan's does.
