Absolutely agree. He is a great man who also happens to be a great football player.

Thanks for sharing this. I believe in Devin Gardner, but more importantly I think Team 135 believes in him as well. We're going to beat ND tomorrow night. BELIEVE

Get behind this man and this team. DG is the real deal.

He thought for a moment, then said, "An 'A' student." He explained that athletes are unable to pull all-nighters like other students because of the demands on their time. Still, he managed to finish his bachelor's degree in 3½ years, and is working on a master's now.
It takes a very organized, very dynamic person to pull off being a player and leader and to stay as committed to their education as Devin has, I would think. It would great to see Devin walk away with a nice season here, but we know he'll walk away with the tools to make an impact in the world either on the field or off....or both really.

Not only does it take someone very organized....it takes someone with high morals to not take free cars, tattoos, and term papers.

Love the "where would we have been without him" about Denard. Without Denard, and Devin where would we be record wise? We had down years, yes. Horrible years, no. Only thanks to these two team carriers.

example of what most of us think the student-athlete paradigm should resemble.
However, I have one beef with DG this year. What happended to wicked funny Vines (the Gallon/Gardner vine is one of the best ever)?

Would not suprise me if he had an epic year and went on to starting on Sundays.

Behind an epically bad O-line and with an epically bad OC, he was 2nd in B1G in passing yards, 4th in efficiency, and 2nd in total yards.

Gardner is one class act. He is going to earn great success this season both because of his talent and because this whole Team 135 is behind him.

kind of threw the last year's offense under the bus. .. but Devin deserves all the accolades that come his way!

After a couple of years borrowing teammates' cars, Gardner picked up a little blue coupe, which had "wires hanging out from the engine, and half the back bumper missing," former teammate Elliott Mealer said. "Devin couldn't have resold that thing to a blind man. So, no. No one's giving him cars."
