Nice fall weather now predicted for Maryland game

Submitted by SugarShane on
Chances of rain below 20% now. It will be windy, peaking at 20mph, but that's it. Temperature will be upper 50s and cloudy. Seems actually like nice fall weather. ( Will edit out my opinions on the matter to leave this as objective good news)

Enjoy the game. I swear I should just stop buying tickets off stubhub until the day before the game or so. There's always tickets available and you either buy too high doing it early or get approximately the same price. Got my Maryland tix for around $100 a piece a couple months ago. Oh well.

Go to your niece's birthday party. This game will be a blowout and even if it's not somehow, there will be plenty of other ones. And a replay somewhere, I'm sure. You never know how long your family will be around.

I make sure my wife never schedules kids parties during sporting events because I know every guy who shows up has been secretly hating my guts for several days.

I say several days because I'm sure you're just like me, your wife told you about the party 2 months prior. Then reminded you on Tuesday and you had already forgotten about it 30 min after she told you.

I had our wedding date changed because it was during the Masters. My argument was that the Masters is a tradition unlike any other, and weddings happen all the time.

Just my opinion, but go to her party and DVR the game. It's not like you're missing The Game or anything like that.

Have to agree with other posters here. The game will be replayed over and over, it should be a thrashing, and WD will have highlights up almost instantly after the game. Never know how long family will be around.

You should only DVR it if you have the discipline to stay away from internet or other updates (like friends texting you).  Otherwise, it's not the same IMO.

What about streaming on the BTN app - assuming you'll have access to WiFi?

I wish they'd move the game back to 8, but that won't happen. I have a commitment at 2, so I'll be missing the second half. Oh well, Michigan will be up by 28 at that point.

It's up the road from Atlanta and just down the road from Spartanburg and Greenville.

Columbia is further south and closer to the coastal areas, hence the greater rainfall predicted there.

At Clemson, the kids camp out for tickets for football. This will be a huge ticket. My son is a Clemson grad, now living in DC, and was looking forward to making it up for this game, but the weather spooked him.

This was the only FBS game scheduled along the coast for Saturday night. There's one FCS game that doesn't seem to have been moved: William & Mary @ Delaware.

A quick glance through the D3 schedule doesn't show any games either, but I might have missed somebody--I don't follow that part of the country that carefully.

There just isn't that much night football outside the deep South.

About an hour ago, I compiled the weather reports from several different sources for the game.  All are talking about winds in the neighborhood of 15-20 mph. Otherwise:

Weather.com:  Noon, Cloudy, Hi 50s; 1 pm, Cloudy, Hi 50s; 2pm, 30% chance of showers, hi 50s; 3 pm 30% chance of showers, hi 50s

Accuweather.com:  Noon, Cloudy, 55; 1 pm, Showers (40%); 2pm, Cloudy, 60; 3 pm cloudy 60

Wunderground.com: Overcast, temps in the upper 50s throughout the game

Capital Weather Gang (WashPost): Off-and-on light showers are possible through the afternoon, with clouds staying put. We have the tiniest silver lining, perhaps, with slightly milder temperatures getting into the mid-to-upper 60s.

REMINDER:  No umbrellas, limited size backpacks into Byrd.
