Nice fall weather now predicted for Maryland game
October 2nd, 2015 at 5:36 AM ^
Root for Michigan and it's a win-win. You get cheap tickets and you don't have to sit through a tropical storm.
October 2nd, 2015 at 6:18 AM ^
Dude, thank you so much! I hadn't realized how low the ticket prices had plummeted. I now live in NC and really wanted to go to this game, but the last time I checked the prices were $90+. I just bought mine for $30 each. It's short notice but we'll be waking up early tomorrow to make the drive!
October 2nd, 2015 at 8:15 AM ^
Enjoy the game. I swear I should just stop buying tickets off stubhub until the day before the game or so. There's always tickets available and you either buy too high doing it early or get approximately the same price. Got my Maryland tix for around $100 a piece a couple months ago. Oh well.

Well to bad I can no longer go because of the moved kick off time. Cancelled my flight and my first UM game in 6 years is now a no go.

I feel for you, that sucks.
I've got to skip my 4 year old niece's birthday party now to watch the game.
October 2nd, 2015 at 7:17 AM ^
DVR it man. The game should be a blowout.
October 2nd, 2015 at 7:17 AM ^
Go to your niece's birthday party. This game will be a blowout and even if it's not somehow, there will be plenty of other ones. And a replay somewhere, I'm sure. You never know how long your family will be around.

She's 4, and lives 90 minutes away. She'll never remember.
October 2nd, 2015 at 7:57 AM ^
I bet her parents will. I don't know how your family operates, but as big of a football fan as I am I would be pretty disappointed if my kids aunt/uncle missed my kids party to watch a blowout football game.
October 2nd, 2015 at 8:35 AM ^
I make sure my wife never schedules kids parties during sporting events because I know every guy who shows up has been secretly hating my guts for several days.
I say several days because I'm sure you're just like me, your wife told you about the party 2 months prior. Then reminded you on Tuesday and you had already forgotten about it 30 min after she told you.
I had our wedding date changed because it was during the Masters. My argument was that the Masters is a tradition unlike any other, and weddings happen all the time.

I didn't lose my memory of anything the wife tells me till year six......
October 2nd, 2015 at 8:24 AM ^
You do not football-fan correctly.
October 2nd, 2015 at 8:37 AM ^
Exactly. YOU would be upset.
So, I don't mind upsetting a grown man who plans parties poorly.
October 2nd, 2015 at 8:00 AM ^
Agreed. Can't stand small ones birthdays!

To quote one of my favorites:
"At this point, what difference does it make?"
October 2nd, 2015 at 12:08 PM ^
but you would be surprised by what those guys actually do. Birthday parties are a huge deal for kids that age.
I cut huge slack for a 90-minute drive, though. Continue your plans without feeling guilt-tripped.
October 2nd, 2015 at 7:56 AM ^
Just my opinion, but go to her party and DVR the game. It's not like you're missing The Game or anything like that.
Have to agree with other posters here. The game will be replayed over and over, it should be a thrashing, and WD will have highlights up almost instantly after the game. Never know how long family will be around.

You should only DVR it if you have the discipline to stay away from internet or other updates (like friends texting you). Otherwise, it's not the same IMO.
What about streaming on the BTN app - assuming you'll have access to WiFi?
October 2nd, 2015 at 5:55 AM ^
Good. This works out well for us. I prefer a day game on the road anyway. Go blue.
October 2nd, 2015 at 6:22 AM ^
I wish they'd move the game back to 8, but that won't happen. I have a commitment at 2, so I'll be missing the second half. Oh well, Michigan will be up by 28 at that point.

If this is true then I hope they pipe in Rock you like a Hurricane during the game

Move it back to 8:00.

Forecasting 18.3 inches of rain here in Columbia, SC. Yes, 18.3.
But most are being conservative with 10 inches. Luckily most don't have any basements.

"Cola"? Really?
October 2nd, 2015 at 9:40 AM ^
Yes, really. That is a common nickname for Columbia. Or Soda City.
You cool with that?

I never really understood why the Michigan game seemed to be one of few moving. Their must be a ton of games along the coast. Maybe I only pay attention to Michigan because that is all the matters really........
October 2nd, 2015 at 8:43 AM ^
is a long way from the coast.
Again, moving the game time had much more to do with getting the Michigan team out of Maryland safely, rather than at 2am during the arrival of the big winds.
October 2nd, 2015 at 9:41 AM ^
This is a separate system - you'll see at 8pm tomorrow. It will be a monsoon in Death Valley.
October 2nd, 2015 at 11:15 AM ^
its not a potential landfalling hurricane, which is what the op was referring to
October 2nd, 2015 at 8:54 AM ^
Clemson is closer to the State of Georgia than it is the coast
October 2nd, 2015 at 9:33 AM ^
At first I didn't know why you used so many ellipses, then I comprehended the geographical point you were making on a second read through. Well done sir and now I need another cup of coffee because clearly I have yet to wake up.
October 2nd, 2015 at 12:15 PM ^
It's up the road from Atlanta and just down the road from Spartanburg and Greenville.
Columbia is further south and closer to the coastal areas, hence the greater rainfall predicted there.
At Clemson, the kids camp out for tickets for football. This will be a huge ticket. My son is a Clemson grad, now living in DC, and was looking forward to making it up for this game, but the weather spooked him.
October 2nd, 2015 at 12:34 PM ^
This was the only FBS game scheduled along the coast for Saturday night. There's one FCS game that doesn't seem to have been moved: William & Mary @ Delaware.
A quick glance through the D3 schedule doesn't show any games either, but I might have missed somebody--I don't follow that part of the country that carefully.
There just isn't that much night football outside the deep South.
October 2nd, 2015 at 8:34 AM ^
Don't worry If it's like some things what people say is 10 inches will actually turn out to be only around 6 inches.
Hi-yo......ill be here all week. Make sure to tip your waitress.

Is there any way they move it back to 8, everything would be back to normal and it would be a win-win for everyone.

not for people who have already adjusted their schedule for the change

About an hour ago, I compiled the weather reports from several different sources for the game. All are talking about winds in the neighborhood of 15-20 mph. Otherwise:
Weather.com: Noon, Cloudy, Hi 50s; 1 pm, Cloudy, Hi 50s; 2pm, 30% chance of showers, hi 50s; 3 pm 30% chance of showers, hi 50s
Accuweather.com: Noon, Cloudy, 55; 1 pm, Showers (40%); 2pm, Cloudy, 60; 3 pm cloudy 60
Wunderground.com: Overcast, temps in the upper 50s throughout the game
Capital Weather Gang (WashPost): Off-and-on light showers are possible through the afternoon, with clouds staying put. We have the tiniest silver lining, perhaps, with slightly milder temperatures getting into the mid-to-upper 60s.
REMINDER: No umbrellas, limited size backpacks into Byrd.
