That was a good read. I'm glad that Drew and his buddy had second thoughts, about bringing that alligator in the boat. I would love to see him do well in front of his family.

The guy isn't a star, but he has made some really clutch plays for us. The fake field goal against Nebraska and a crucial third down catch against Ohio in the second half.

I love hearing about players whose lifelong dream was to become a Wolverine.
My feelings of joy, exuberance and contentment that order has been restored in the universe; that we finished the season 10-2 with wins over ND and Ohio and that we're playing in a meaningful BCS Bowl game; is only tempered by the realization that January 5, after the glow of a Sugar Bowl victory begins to fade, we will have nearly 8 long months before our beloved Wolverines open their 2012 campaign and face an extremely tough test against Nick Saban's Crimson Tide.
We're going to need every minute to get ready.

I'm looking forward to the Sugar Bowl for Dileo, and to 2012 & 2013. Borges isn't a fool, and Dileo will get lots of chances to shine in the future.
Winning with 5 star "can't miss" prospects is great. But there are only so many to go around. I have always felt that the key to success is identifying under the radar guys, or guys passed over because of their size or other lack of attributes. I remember when Mike Hart was signed, how there were friends who said "he's nice and all, good for depth, but will never amount to anything." Well, size and speed can't be faked, but they don't count for everything.
One last comment. I'm struck by similarities between Kovacs & Dileo. Neither are the fastest, biggest, or strongest, but they "just get it done," listen to the coaches, and learn quickly. "Coachability" is a great characteristic. There was a recent article on a 2013 OL by the name of Loan Tuley-Tillman, who was lauded for the same thing. It's hard to have too many guys like that.

I have to agree about having the best of two worlds. Throw in the frozen drink shops just about anywhere you go...that aspect was quite nice.

I hope by the end of his career he becomes our Wes Welker. I think the kid is tough and has great hands.
And for nicknames, I'll go with Busta Rhymes and call him "What's the Dileo".

Nice article. I'm surprised he's our only player from Louisiana. Over the years Fred Jackson's brought in a lot of quality players from there.

Yet another example of how the player ranking system fails because all it can do is measure a kid's physique, speed and talent but not his heart or his attitude.

His aunt and uncle live around the Atlanta area.
I met them last week, and -- wow, great people!!
His uncle was telling me about how he keeps telling Coach about the time and expirence he has in playing in the dome, and that he hopes his hard work ends up resulting in more playing time, which I think it will. He's a very smart kid, and the sky is the limit for this kid. He has good speed, great hands, and he's smart ... Wes Welker reminds my fantasy team each week that that's good enough in some parts. I hope Drew breaks out.
We could really use him next year.
