I read an article last night that the Wings @ Blackhawks game on 10/9/10 will be the "Raise the Banner" night at the United Center.

I have a feeling that when Linstrom is forced to stand there watching he's going to realize what a great decision he made to come back and win it again for the Wings...

As I Hawks fan I'm not trying to get myself negged from here to the UP and back, but why not just enjoy the rivalry while it lasts.

The Hakws are a young team loaded with talent and running low on cash. The Wings are starting to get a little long in the tooth, but Detroit has proven time and time again they're front office is smart enough to rebuild quickly and effectively. With a couple moves here and a couple moves there the Hawks v. Wings could be 10X what the wings v. avalanche was in its heyday.

Whether a wings fan, a hawks fan, or a hockey fan, I think everyone can agree that igniting (or technically  reigniting) this rivalry is AWESOME!

No rivalry in the NHL will ever be the SAME as wings/avs, much less 10X better. The hawks are going to be mediocre in about 2 years, so you should enjoy this while it lasts. Congrats on winning the Cup, but this Chicago team isn't going to be a dynasty.

I am glad the Wings come to Raleigh in April next season.  For those not aware,  Western Conference teams play every Eastern Conference Team Once a year and alternate home and away every year.   So I am very pleased with that aspect of the schedule.  In October of 2008 we got a pretty loud "Lets Go Red Wings" chant going through a sold out RBC Center.
