NFL worried over upcoming Will Smith movie "Concussion"

Submitted by UMProud on

Will Smith's new movie "Concussion" is set to be released Christmas 2015.  The movie is "a look at how American football players suffer from major head injuries and life-long debilitating problems as a result of repeated concussions and efforts by the National Football League to deny it."

Team owners & the NFL are concerned with public perceptions and have met to discuss how to deal with & respond to the film.

They should get Wells to prepare a report.

The report will show that concussions don't happen in football, that if they did, the NFL would have a cure and if you challenge Wells' report by filing an appeal, they will come up with some trumped up factually incorrect allegation that assassinate's your character.

Fuck the NFL.

It's funny because I can see many commending Smith for this. I'd have to see the movie before I place judgement but I can see this just absolutely bashing football and those involved. Will just start a witch hunt.

It doesn't seem like you guys have been paying attention to this issue. The NFL was hiding the effects of concussions, not giving proper treatment and returning players to the field too early. It might be, just maybe, difficult to know the risks when they are hidden. Do some reading.

Roger is the worst. I hope there's a scandal. Something as bad as him sending dick pics of his fully erect 3 inch penis to Erin Andrews, her laughing followed by him getting caught choking her on camera followed by him getting pistol whipped by the police. Fuck your puncuations and shit.

mafuckers.

Goodell is obviously bad but he is the owners' puppet. That is the new role of sports commissioners: playing the "bad guy" to the public and providing a face for the horrible ideas of the owners.

I highly recommend the book "The King of Sports." NFL owners are crazy greedy and dishonest. The thought of them squirming over this concussion mess - one they tried for years to keep out of the public eye - is frankly hilarious.

Probably the opposite. Dude is 46, he is likely to have gray hair. More likely that all of the photos you see with little or no gray hair for the last 20 years is because he keeps it that way for movies.

When the NFL stopped the ESPN show Playmakers from going past one season despite great ratings because it hurt their image . That kind of was lame.

Will Smith's son might be the dumbest person on earth. Totally unrelated I know, but it needs to be said.

If I didn't know who wrote the tweets, I would think his account was satire. He tries to be introspective and existential, but pretty much sounds like your run of the mill teenage stoner. That and he always makes that "I think I smell a rancid fart" face all the damn time.

I will always watch football and I really doubt that the movie will hurt the ratings for the NFL so why worry about it. I get why parents don't want there sons to play football because of concussions, blows to the head or head trauma those are scary things, and I know that concussions can happen in any sport with a lot of contact in it.
