If the Lions take any kind of player who handles the ball before the fifth round I will be most upset.
as well as a third WR. So taking one before the fifth would not be a bad thing. However, I would like to see a CB and/or DT selected before those positions.
Eh, I like Corey Fuller as a 3rd WR, and with the three pass-catching TEs they have, that still counts as the weapons they need. Bell and Riddick make two RBs...unless you were going to take Gurley or Gordon, I can't say I'd be big on taking a guy who wouldn't bring much extra to the table.
CB, DT, DE are more pressing needs, and I wouldn't argue against another OL - an insurance-policy OT would be a very solid investment unless you really, really like Cornelius Lucas.
funchess won't come off the board today.

For those who might want to follow it online - the link will take you right to Round 2 - Draft Tracker
The Lions pick (for now - obvious we're seeing some wheeling and dealing already) at 22nd in this round (54th overall) and 24th (88th overall) in the 3rd round.
Donovan Smith to the Bucs, and the Raiders already have their 2nd round pick in. Quick start this evening indeed.
Giants trade up for Landon Collins. Me likey.
Me too. I like that they've already addressed two big needs in the first two rounds. Maybe they can find a good pass rusher in round 3.
Yeah, that's a good pick. Best safety in the draft at the top of the second round. I don't necessarily think he'll be a lights-out NFL player, but he should be solid in that defense as a SS.
I think the Raiders go Devin Funchess.

They didn't - they took Mario Edwards, Jr.
T.J. Yeldon is going to be trying to take Denard Robinson's job. Uh-oh.
Speed plus Hammer - Denard and T.J. can coexist while the Toby protects the punter on special teams.
At least these days you see more of a committee approach at RB so Denard should still get enough reps to prove himself. It's not like Gerhart is any kind of threat anymore.
Love how the Jets fans aren't even waiting until the pick to start booing the selection.
they're booing the commish
With the Jets taking Devin Smith, Funch could be one of the next couple WRs to come off the board. Jaelen Strong is a good bet to get taken before him, but who knows?

Rich Eisen just went from six to midnight. And I love it.
FUNCHESS!!! Carolina Panther at 41st overall.
Good spot for Funchess. Their WR corps is terrible.
Haha, of course. Michigan player gets drafted right when they are switching over networks so he gets very little coverage.
Man, ESPN is really shitting on Gardner. Also no mention of Funchess' injury, just saying he became "disinterested."
Haha, check out the dude peaking in the windows at the Funchess house. Hilarious

No.
They have two players from Oklahoma.
this year's draft sucks.
NFL is like 5 picks behind now
Just five? On the broadcast I'm watching, Aaron Rodgers just came off the board.
Pretty cool moment there with Jim Kelly.
Jordan Phillips off the board.
Would have been a good pick for the Lions
Per Andy Slater.
god damnit
I don't think that's a terrible pick. The Lions need somebody quick to pair with Joique Bell.
I liked our day 1 moves shoring up the interior line.
Was hoping for a DT in round 2...and there were a ton available tonight.
Goldman, Phillips, heck even Carl Davis.
Riddick isn't a runner. Last year showed that. He either is cut or moves full time to WR.
although I bet no one in the Lions draft room thought the Dolphins would draft another DT after spending all that cash on Suh.
moves to the backfield. Abdullah is a pure Rb.
I thought that's what Riddick was for LAST year, but then they didn't use him.
What the actual fuck, Lions?
