NFL Draft Rounds 2-3 [open thread]

Submitted by Wolverine Devotee on

Funchess will most likely go in the 2nd or 3rd round...........hopefully.

Hopefully to the Lions.

Eh, I like Corey Fuller as a 3rd WR, and with the three pass-catching TEs they have, that still counts as the weapons they need.  Bell and Riddick make two RBs...unless you were going to take Gurley or Gordon, I can't say I'd be big on taking a guy who wouldn't bring much extra to the table.

CB, DT, DE are more pressing needs, and I wouldn't argue against another OL - an insurance-policy OT would be a very solid investment unless you really, really like Cornelius Lucas.

For those who might want to follow it online - the link will take you right to Round 2 - Draft Tracker

The Lions pick (for now - obvious we're seeing some wheeling and dealing already) at 22nd in this round (54th overall) and 24th (88th overall) in the 3rd round.

Donovan Smith to the Bucs, and the Raiders already have their 2nd round pick in. Quick start this evening indeed.

Yeah, that's a good pick. Best safety in the draft at the top of the second round. I don't necessarily think he'll be a lights-out NFL player, but he should be solid in that defense as a SS.

At least these days you see more of a committee approach at RB so Denard should still get enough reps to prove himself.  It's not like Gerhart is any kind of threat anymore.

With the Jets taking Devin Smith, Funch could be one of the next couple WRs to come off the board.  Jaelen Strong is a good bet to get taken before him, but who knows?

Haha, of course.  Michigan player gets drafted right when they are switching over networks so he gets very little coverage.
