Who do we think can and or will become the next first rounder from the maize and blue?
My money is on DEATH roh. speculate
Roh or Campbell fo sho
but if his 2010 is anything like 2009 his draft stock will drop more than Jimmah's.
that O-Lineman who transferred to tOSU...whatshisname.
Campbell... I am pretty sure. Where does Mike Martin fit?
Mel Kiper agrees.
Al Davis will take Denard in the top ten, if he's still alive then. He just could not turn down Heyward-Bey's speed, and Denard would be a great WR/KR in Oakland, right?
Avatar stealing is not cool IME.
My guess....Taylor Lewan
but we might just be a smidge premature.
A 6'1 285 O lineman being taken in the first round. When was the last time that happened, 1992?
The Lions would do it.
I would say B. Minor. He certainly deserves it.
with the number of nfl teams running a 3-4 defense he's the prototypical OLB they'll all want. he'll rack up 8-10 sacks this year setting up his coming out party in 2011.
While I agree that Roh has first round potential, you have to remember that players are being projected from college to the pros.
I wouldn't be surprised if Roh ended up as an OLB in a more protypical 4-3 defense than outside on a 3-4. Compare Roh to Shawn Merriman, LaMarr Woodley, or Brandon Graham. Roh arguably has more speed than those guys, but IMHO currently lacks the raw power to play outside in a 3-4.
I think William Campbell's combination of size and speed will make him the next first rounder...
I think Molk has been slightly overrated by Michigan fans just because we struggled so much at center with him out of the lineup. I think he'll be a bit undersized to be an NFL center.
Read your first post and then read the next one. How were you not clear? Ah Duhhh
I don't think Denard Robinson is a potential first-rounder. He doesn't have the size to be an NFL quarterback, so he'd be a position-switcher in the NFL. And those usually don't turn out great, so I doubt anyone would spend a high pick on a QB-turned-WR. Even Antwaan Randle El and Pat White weren't first-rounders.
Anyway...I would say Roh will be the next first round pick.
Guys on the team with first round potential, IMO:
4. Washington (I know we haven't seen him play, but he has great size.)
Pat White wants a word with you.
But Harvin was the #1 ranked player in the country out of high school, and a proven commodity at those positions.
That said, the dude could run to the Philippines, circumcise a baby, and run back before the play clock ran to zero. So if Tebow could go in the first round, then call me a man of faith.
Actually, Tebow only lead Florida to one NC. Leak lead the way to the first one (and never seems to get the credit for it).
Very, very few guards go in the first round. Yesterday 1 did. I would say the odds of QW going in round 1 are very, very, very slim. That said, I love his potential.
I don't think that there's anybody on the current roster of the caliber of Graham, Long or Edwards. Remember, it's not easy to be drafted in the first round (LaMarr Woodley went in the 2nd, Tom Brady went in the 6th)
It'll be interesting to see if Devin Gardner becomes the next Vince Young or if Demar Dorsey becomes the next Adam Jones (in a better way). I just don't think that anybody who has already played a down on this current roster has first round potential.
probably didn't even know who Brandon Graham was when he was a freshman/sophomore. So many kids seeing heavy playing time are too young to evaluate their NFL stock. That said, Campbell has the size and tools to be a first-rounder, and if I'm not mistaken I seem to remember the coaches saying something to the effect of "If Cambpell loses another 12 pounds he will be an NFL first-rounder".
Martin seems like he'll be a 2nd/3rd round guy, Ezeh I could see in the 4th/5th round. I'd like to say Mouton will get drafted, but I don't know what position he would translate to in the NFL.
Oh also, T-Wolf, with a big year, could move into the late 2nd round with his speed.
Brandon Graham was a 5 star coming out of high school. I think we definitely knew who he was...
Anybody with a passing interest in Michigan football knew who Brandon Graham was coming out of high school.
I dunno man, his production fell off a cliff this past season.
That's only because Koger intercepted everything thrown his way. Too bad he couldn't catch anything else.
Besides everyone else already mentioned, Gardner could be a first round pick in 4-5 years.
The Bronco's will trade 4 picks to get into the first round to get him. He's just too nice a guy to let slip to the second.
Steven shilling is one of the top guards in the nation coming into the season, and david molk can make a name for himself if he stays healthy
Has Schilling even been All-Big Ten Second team?
He was Honorable Mention? I think if he kills people this year, and crushes the combine, there's a chance he gets picked at the very end of the first round....a very small chance.
5. D. Gardner
If we're talking next first rounder, I think Martin has All-Big Ten, late first round potential
might take issue with your projection
over late first round potential.
seems like the type of kid who would buy everyone the table their first drink of the night at the bar
We haven't seen the last of Nick - he'll be coaching somewhere and I'm betting he'll do well
the list of 2010 seniors. That's right, that's my answer.
Jack Kennedy, then you don't like Amurika.
that means yer a turrurast
go back to where you come from
By forgoing the draft, I think Donovan Warren should get the seasoning he needs to be a first round draft pick next year.
I would say Craig Roh, Will Campbell, Taylor Lewan, Denard Robinson, and Kevin Koger all have first round potential. With all the 3-4 teams out there that looks good for Roh. Campbell and Lewan both have tons of talent and plenty of upside to spare. Also Kevin Koger is just a physical specimen, if he ever puts it all together he can be really good. Also I think teams will be very intrigued with Denard's speed, aka the Raiders.
Schilling is the Sr. Classes best shot but gaurds usually don't go in the first round. Draft experts like Ezeh but not in the first round, we would need to see HUGE improvement. The best chances are younger guys like Taylor Lewan and Demar Dorsey. Maybe Will Campbell.
Martin will be a perfect fit for a team based on their scheme.
Jake Long 2.0.
Campbell has the potential as well.
Probably Campbell or Lewan, but I could see Roh or even RVB sneaking into the bottom of the first round if the right team is drafting.
He's going to be all B10 at the end of the season.
