News Flash: Hoke on Donuts.
I just saw Brandstatter interviewing Hoke for IMF and Hoke revealed that he is a glazed donut fan.
And get this... NO SPRINKLES!
Brandstatter quickly added that he likes chocolate covered donuts and isn't a sprinkles guy, either.
I'll let you all speculate on whether Rodriguez is a sprinkles guy or not...

i heard lloyd carr likes coconut shavings
November 2nd, 2011 at 12:39 PM ^
That's not only a stupid comment, it's offensive. Lloyd Carr only eats whole wheat donuts, and when he writes about them, he spells them 'tremendous doughnuts.'
Gittelson liked donuts with coconut shavings, but only as dietary supplements. Nothing unlocks the recuperative powers of pizza quite like deep-fried dough and coconut shavings. Learned that in 'Nam.

I can't tell if that is epically awesome, or epically horrifying.
November 2nd, 2011 at 1:39 PM ^
It's both, although the fried egg makes it more awesome than horrifying.

Depends on how drunk or stoned you are.

Sprinkles ruin that shit.
There's a 2 for $1 glazed donut deal at 7/11 right now, in case you feel the need to Hoke-a-Size your lunch today.

If you live in Chicago, the best donuts are at Dinkel's. I was just there this morning, and there wasn't a sprinkle in sight.

get a dozen donuts from Donna's donuts on Bristol Rd. Hell, make a trip to Flint to get a dozen. Best donuts in the State.
November 2nd, 2011 at 2:55 PM ^
I thought Donna's closed a couple of years ago.
I could be wrong. Everything else in Flint has closed. It's hard to keep track of what's still open for business.
November 2nd, 2011 at 7:20 PM ^
open, probably just barely.

The title says "Hoke on Donuts." You were not tricked.
What kind of thoughtful insight did you expect from a post about breakfast choices?
November 2nd, 2011 at 1:05 PM ^
Mine has jimmies. :(

This is a hotter topic on the RCMB today than the news that Bubba Smith died from drug intoxication.
November 2nd, 2011 at 3:56 PM ^
I just read about "Occupy Herbstreit" today but it was too off-topic to share. Now, boom it is not completely off-topic to a subject that is on-topic.
November 2nd, 2011 at 3:57 PM ^
See? Hoke gets it.
November 2nd, 2011 at 6:49 PM ^
What say you, Lloyd Brady-- what is your donut selection. And you----- Facepalm guy, what say you about a donut selection. This is whats important. And wheres the zit pickin girl from the ND game 2 years ago, what say she --- you know she likes donuts.

If you're driving down I-75 into Dayton and need a donut fix any time of day, hit Jim's Donut Shop in Vandalia off of Exit 63, US Rt 40 (also on the way to/from the Dayton airport). Open 24 hrs, 7 days a week. Old school donut shop. And apple fritters the size of a steering wheel- on a Mack truck.
Just a helpful nugget from your exiled brother. It's on the way to Columbus if you go the I-75 to I-70 route.
