New ThoseWhoStay7 Tweet

Submitted by bballislife22 on

I don't know who among us is counting this guy as a legitimate source, but Brian seems to be and he does seem to be pretty spot on so far. He just tweeted out a VERY Michigan-friendly update that consists of two pictures that hopefully somebody can embed for the board (I'm not sure how). They can be found here:

Let's hope he knows what he's talking about.

According to him, his uncle is friends with Harbaugh's agent. Now there is 3 conclusions you can draw from this:

1) Harbaugh's agent is giving his friend a play by play who is giving his nephew a play by play - seems unlikely

2) He is actually a well placed source who is pretending to be a high school kid in an effort to not draw too much attention to his info - seems unlikely

3) He is a high school troll with a paysite subscription- seems likely

I honestly believe this guy is hiding is true identity. He's protecting someone with this fake identity...and I believe Brian has a good beat on who he really is. Brian is pretty diligent with what he shares and who he attaches his credibity to. I think he's a well placed source who may have played football and/or held a position inside the Athletic Department.

It JH really wanted the Michigan job is seems like he could announce his intentions this week and still coach the last game of the season. Makes me think he will be staying in the NFL.

Assuming it's a done deal, sure he could announce this week. But also he could not since he still has one more game to coach with his players and making such a huge announcement at that point might be viewed as distracting and unprofessional. Maybe think it through fully before expressing thoughts.

is that David Dunn does not go by Dave. And, as has been pointed out repeatedly, he does not represent Harbaugh in collegiate matters. Harbaugh's other agent does. So this kid is chirping nothing but nonsense.

well, I'm as weary as you are, but a quick search of his bio on his company website appears he does go by dave: DAVID DUNN CEO J.D., Hastings College of Law B.A., UCLA The cornerstone of Athletes First, Dave stands as one of the most prolific, effective and respected negotiators in the industry. A true powerhouse in NFL representation, Dave has negotiated more NFL contracts than any other agent, and his negotiating efforts have resulted in scores of record-breaking deals. www.athletesfirst.net

Just because he is known as a NFL PLAYER agent, doesn't mean he won't make exceptions when he already possibly has a long term relationship with someone such as Harbaugh. He's not going to tell Harbaugh he can't represtent him.

There is also the matter of Dunn losing a large lawsuit to his partner and filing for bankruptcy which could have affected who he represents. People specialize but it doesn't necessarily mean they do that work exclusively.

I don't buy it.  Details sound convincing, but... don't lose the forest through the trees.  I don't buy that some agent is immediately relaying all these secret negotiations to someone, who immediately posts them.

Unless he's in the NSA hacking a phone, I don't believe it.

If he is in the NSA hacking a phone, then I got a few other questions for him...

I know it's not an important fact, but I'll call BS because there is no chance Ross contacted JH. Ross would be stupid to temp the NFL with tampering charges. Ross would never risk losing draft picks, or major fines to tell JH "hey we are keeping Philbin, but you should leave SF and go to Michigan."

I beleive there was another example of this in years' past where a NFL owner was allowed to contact an NFL coach on behalf of a university so long as that was the purpose of the interaction. Sure someone else will fill in the gaps in the story.

This damn well better be happening because just about everyone here now believes it is and if for some reason it isn't the meltdown will be unfathomable. I can't even imagine the epic levels of misery and depression of the fanbase if Not Harbaugh is our next coach. Not to mention the unprecedented trolling that will inevitably ensue from Sparty, the Buckeyes and pretty much everyone else in CFB. PLEASE LET IT HAPPEN.
