New Rivals 100
Sharrif Floyd and Kyle Prater earn their 5th stars. Latwan Anderson is #35 and Cullen Christian moves all the way up from a 3* to #60....now if he would just commit already!

- No more Boisture in the top 100
- Still no Gardner/Miller/Robinson
- No Eduardo Clements
- Uh wow, Cullen Christian WTF
Yeah the Gardner/Miller/Robinson thing still has me surprised, because they were all supposed to be high 4 stars/5 stars. I'm most surprised by Gardner, because he is said to have been dominating at all the camps.
Its too bad your not a usc or uf fan because you would be pretty excited that all the recruits leaning to your school all seemed to go up in ranking for some reason.
*gasp!* Are you implying this is more than purely coincidence?
why pay the player for 5 years when you can pay the recruiting gurus just once. Everyone has had to make cut backs this year :)
i can pretty much guarantee this has been answered...but does the new top 100 imply re-evaluation of star levels or just re-ordering of the existing rankings? I thought there was talk of Pace and Wilkins possibly receiving additional starrage.
tomorrow they will release the rest of the 250 and on Thursday I believe they will update the stars of people outside the 250. So yes, there is potential in this current cycle that someone like Pace picks up a 4*
why can't rivals just admit that Garnder is a top 100 player already? How many more camp MVPs does he need to win?
According to the Rivals front page, now Bolden is looking like the top QB in MI based on the Elite 11 camp.
Didn't Elite 11 start today? How is he top already?
Yesterday
Bolden may be the most polished of the QBs, but I'll take Gardner's upside and perfect fit for our offense. Gardner is always going to get knocked for his unorthodox throwing methods. Could care less where Gardner ends up rankings wise; all I know that we got a stud athlete that will produce big time for us.
I noticed the same thing about Sharrif Floyd. What was his rating before the current ranking? Now I really hope we get him!
How possible is it that Cullen Christian hasn't committed yet because he wants to see how his rankings shake out? If so, would it hurt us much?
In the article on rivals it said that he was previously #91
Yeah I just noticed that about Floyd's ranking. Thanks though.
Also, OSU commit Jamel Turner fell from #30 out of the Rivals100. Doesn't mean it wouldn't be awesome to have him. But an interesting thing is that he and some other players fell due to off-field issues. I wasn't aware that that determined a player's rating. You would think that a player's rating was just based on skill and talent. Interesting.
It was posted a while back that Turner was having issues and he dropped out of school, so that would be cause for a monumental fall.
"How possible is it that Cullen Christian hasn't committed yet because he wants to see how his rankings shake out? If so, would it hurt us much?"
Take a deep breath, step away from the recruiting for a bit.
He's actually on the right path. I don't want to say it's the only reason, because Cullen has told me he just wants to make sure.
Initially though, he did feel like his rankings weren't up to his abilities. He wanted to go as many places, and show what he could do to get his rankings up. So, he's not that far off of what Cullen has been doing.
You're just a temperature in a shape. Temperature? Cold. Shape? Ugly.
Did you hear about the black Harvard prof being reported by his neighbors for breaking in to his own home and getting harassed by Cambridge cops? God I love it when Cambridge shows how progressive it really is.
Barring some shenanigans like a school paying him or hiring his dad or something, Christian will be a Wolverine.
Committed players don't sell the subscriptions. Rivals has only 1 committed player in their top 10 and 20 in their top 50. That implies either the top players wait longer to make their selections or committing early weighs down your ranking. You decide.
Bryce Brown last year.
Terrelle Pryor the year before.
Both #1 on by the end of the year as they couldn't decide.
Just more support for you.
(Not that they didn't deserve 5*s, but, being #1 and all, ya know)
I think it's more that the kids at the top want the attention, and want to make their announcement at the Army game or on national signing day because that's what the previous guys have done. They feel they have to keep everyone in suspense, like Brown and Pryor, who went even further and didn't decide until after signing day.
Speaking of which, does anyone else hope that Bryce Brown, he of the "$10 a month to find out where I'm going!" fails?
Or, well, I don't want a kid to fail... but learns a HARD lesson?
I don't want anyone to fail. Obviously, not everyone is going to make it to the NFL, although that's not everyone's goal. I figure I will be better off (in bed) wishing bad upon no one. Or at least I try not too.
You're probably right, but when a kid at 18 is convinced he's that important, it chaps me.
One get your facts straight before you talk about some kid you have no idea what he is about. His mentor or something like that charged the fee for updates on his recruitment. Your comment is completely unfounded and makes me believe your some arrogant fool.
Whoa, I didn't know Bryce Brown had a mgoblog account. Sorry for talking about you behind your back buddy.
hilarious.
hilarious.
Another factor is that anyone in the top 5 knows that he's likely going to have a spot available for him anywhere he wants to go. Less OMG recruits probably take into consideration the fact that their options may narrow as time goes on.
Devin Gardner was seen walking on water at a camp, the title of the article would be "Michigan Commit Can't Swim" For whatever reason, Rivals just doesn't give him any respect.
Prater would be really nice to get too. Did any of our unranked guys earn 3*?
This was Top 100 and they only have changed the ratings of those in the Top 100 so far and 3 stars are never in the Top 100. The Top 250 should be coming out in a couple of days.
they're not releasing the additional rankings until tomorrow, but I could be making that up.
Is our chances with Prater still good?
Imagine Stonum, Stokes, Prater being the outside WR.
No, they aren't as good as everyone had hoped, or hyped.
but it seems like we're still in the picture to some degree...
I have a feeling that our chances with Prater would be a lot better with a good season.
I'd thought Stokes was more likely to be a slot. How about Prater, Stonum, and we have an armada of slot ninjas?
totally agree.
What about Miller?
if you knew how ridiculous "Is Our Chances" reads. It reads as stupid and as unintelligible as it sounds.

On what your definition of the word is is.
Who is Floyd's #1 right now? Where are we?
Conventional wisdom and unsubstantiated rumors all point to PSU being in the pole position at this point. Insider over at GBW insists that Michigan is in a much better position with Floyd than it seems in the open, and that we will definitely get our shot at him via an official visit.
A janitor heard him whistling "Hail to the Victors" while dropping a deuce.
Plus a million if I could.
PSU is going to have a ridiculous class, unfortunately.
How much does everyone wanna bet that Gardner has somehow actually dropped in the rankings despite dominating at camp?
